I've owned my '85 for nearly 30 years. 151k miles and I've replaced an alternator, brakes, rear shocks, and the oil return tubes/seals. It is indeed a driver's car. It's a car that "talks" to you. The steering feedback is crystal clear, and it has the best brake feel of any car I've ever owned.
I agree 100% with all of your points. Unfortunately so do many other people. The prices have gone crazy!
Great. Now I want a 911.
Not just any 911 -- an air-cooled 911!
To quote my dear uncle Roy, “it’s cheaper than a mistress”
I have an 84 Carrera which I modified for racing and then had restored as an outlaw. I think air cooled Porsches are similar to the M1911 pistol and the Ford 32. Timeless, iconic styling and sound design that can be modified for performance and aesthetics and still be true to their original nature.
77 + 66 here. Been hooked since 10 years old
Glad to see the engine is getting some revs at 2:29, these things love to work hard !!
993 was always my favorite. One day.
I have beautiful 05 but I really want to buy an air cooled. Are the more expensive to run? What is a good year to buy for 55k thx
Are air cooled engines easier to maintain?
Good points but I rather have a 944/968 or if I was rich, the 928.
"Dodges multiplie spanner thrown at me"
But my 73 BMW 2002tii is pretty close@
I have a 1989 3.2 and agree with the points you made. My favorite part of the car is I have a good handle on the mechanicals of the car. Once I got past how the thing is designed, I dropped the engine, rebuilt it, and went through all the major systems sorting it out. It endears the car to me knowing that no matter what happend, "I got it handled".
Noticed ya RUclips buddy has one the same lol See via google "Bavarian Dominator @ the Review Centre" Nice guy!!
Great car 👍 Noticed ya YT buddy recently treat himself to one. Just been reading about him on a YT boat channel I follow.......... >> Whitby 2009 - lan sellars
What model year is the first red/burgundy model? It's my fav styling.
It is a 1984 Porsche 911 Carrera. You can read more about it here: classicmotorsports.com/project-cars/1984-porsche-911-carrera/
@@ClassicMotorsports Thanks. Such a beautiful car.
I only need one reason: For me its the coolest car ever
Targa Florio not Floria
thought you died?
Never trust the opinion of a man wearing the wrong shoes while driving...
way overpriced for what you get. same type cult as harley. line up sheep
Never driven one have you? Some cheap scooter does not even come close.
hammer and sickle says it all.
@@jekutube9 Russia? Please explain.
Just like the old Harley's, if you take care of it, you can always get back what you paid for it plus a whole lot more. I speak from experience.
Even though I've owned and loved a Harley (I no longer ride any motorcycle because of my age and health reasons.), I'm not a "Harley guy" but I am a vintage air-cooled engine guy and there is something special about all of these vehicles, especially for the DIY owner of them.
If you speak from the outside without having actual experience of the subject, then you are one of the flock.
@@boomerguy9935 I have owned a number of Harleys before coming to the conclusion that they are hype. Only took one Porsche to reach same conclusion. Sticking with japanese products
