Venom in Marvel vs Capcom 2 is AWESOME! (Marvel vs Capcom Revisited #9)

- Hey, everyone. This is a series I want to do called 'Marvel vs Capcom Revisited', where I go over a character or mode from any Marvel vs Capcom game and speak about why it's good, bad, mid, or anything in between!
These aren't scripted and I'm going off bullet points on my phone, so it's more laid back and casual than my regular, scripted videos.
This episode covers Venom in Marvel vs Capcom 2. Considered to be a mid tier, I wanted to cover Venom's moves and overall gameplan to see what makes him so much fun to play! He's also a good choice for beginners, too!

He was underrated and should have been included in more crossover fighting games.
If you actually care about og Spider-Man lore, the symbiote was just something that resulted from them wanting to change Spider-Man’s color as a fad that was very unpopular. So to explain why he hates it the suits actually alive & this disgusts Peter because it’s alive & on him. It then felt completely betrayed by Peter & despised him while still being attached to him. It eventually stumbles on Eddie Brock & when using him actually likes Eddie because he also hates Peter.
Venom in mvc is also explicitly inspired by “lethal protector” the big break out for venom that redefined him. He would go from a Spider-Man villain to a misguided vigilante who wishes to do evil unto evil. So that’s why venom is less of an asshole this time around & as well as in MVCi.

It’s crazy cause in the original story the Symbiot didn’t actually make Spider-Man evil he got it off. It was taken over his body and he was exhausted and found out he was an alien the whole Spider-Man turning evil started with the 90s cartoon and ever since then no I’m really has told the story fully how the comic did
