@Khanage can you do more of these beginner guides for this game in order to complete the roster for when the Marvel VS. Capcom Arcade Classics Collection comes out? I plan on saving up and pre ordering the switch version and I figured I would like some good beginners guides for the whole roster while seeking out my team which, I have a few ideas of characters I’d like to have on point, a few of those being, Venom which may end up not being the case as he doesn’t have very good defensive options and can be easily punished according to your guide here, Wolverine (X-Men) possibly point, Cyclops (X-Men) possibly point, Hulk possibly point, Spider-Man Possibly point. I have a few ideas for point characters as you can see, but having never really played any fighting game more competitively especially not a 3 vs 3 team game like this is, then as I learn more about team building I may end up switching around the positions for one or more of these characters and even, possibly as much as it pains me to do, omitting some of my aforementioned favorite Marvel characters in service of the team’s synergy, so if you could expand and do beginners guides on the rest of the roster for newcomers like myself coming into the game through the collection, that would be awesome.
@Khanage can you complete your beginner guides for the rest of the roster in MVC2 for beginners starting with the MVC Collection coming out in the near future on the Switch, PS4 and PC, such as myself????
This was a fun video, but I completely disagree on the assists portion. Venom Fang is a really solid assist with a lot of coverage and decent damage. It's not invincible, but it does snuff out a lot of approaches in low/mids. Venom Rush (the non-super version of Death Bite) is much less reliable due to how grounded it is and the way it comes out. It's fine, but can't hold a candle to Venom Fang.
Thanks for the info! I got my information about assists from the SuperComboWiki's page on Marvel vs Capcom 2, so I went with it since it was the only info I could find about Venom's assists
@@khanage1344 It's perfectly okay. The frame data seemed a little off as well. A 10-frame startup would be like 1/6 of a second. For reference, Juggernaut's standing short is a 6-frame startup and is one of the slowest ground pokes in the game. I think that should be a 10-frame duration, though even that might be a little off. According to the Zachd chart (which has a few inaccuracies, but is generally decent), Venom's jab starts at frame 3, which makes it more or less on the upper portion of average in terms of start-ups. Very respectable. Overall, I could nitpick about a few things here and there, but ultimately I'm happy to see someone making guides like this. I look forward to seeing more!
@@Ryusuta Thanks! Frame data for Marvel 2 is hard to find, so sometimes I have to kind of 'eyeball' moves a bit to give an educated guess as to what the frame data is. This was actually the first mvc2 that I ever made, so my more recent guides are more accurate
@@khanage1344 Believe me, I know how that feels. I main Servbot of all characters, and unsurprisingly there's very little accurate reference material on the character. So a lot of what I know game through literally hundreds of hours labbing and discovering things.
@@khanage1344 I know, I know No hard feelings or anything, but it's just like...idk...I expected like a bit more of like assist combos or throw resets that are simple and easy to do understand cuz Venom REALLY likes to throw reset (if I'm not mistaking) You've already spent most of the video talking about the frame data, so ya know, it wouldn't have hurt Again, no hard feelings and it's still a good video
@@red-knight39 I'll take this into account for future mvc2 videos. From now on, I'll try to show off how the character's assists can be incorporated into combos if you're playing as one of their partners. I don't play that much mvc2, so I'm not super familiar with its deeper systems and stuff like that, which is why I keep it basic. Thank you for the feedback
good to hear venom is a good beginner character bcs when I heard about the collection I knew I was going to be a venom main
Hope you’re finding success with him. He’s been so fun my week 1 team is Venom, Wolverine, Cable
I main him as well, my team is Spiderman, Venom and Storm!
I don't own MVC2 but boy do I love Venom! Favorite Anti hero, and main in MVCI
How fitting! I wanted to do wolverine venom and gambit! Haha
“HENTAI ARM” had me deceased 😂

Y’know as a kid, there’s always something I’ve always wondered about MvC 2 Venom: WHY THE F*** WAS HE BLUE?!! 😂
Useful cool video

"combow", not "comboar"
Decent video
A bit of a basic bi**h guide, but still enjoyable
That's the whole point lmao. It's meant to be extremely basic. It literally says the word 'beginner' in the title
