- I hit the Oregon Coast in December to hunt for fresh Dungeness Crab to eat. After fishing piers and beaches I decide to try smoking my fresh catch up and the taste is unbelievable !

Damnit Micah, if you would’ve said you’d be in Oregon We would’ve gladly taken you to Waldport on our boat to crab it’s about 30 minutes away form where you were at and it’s the best bay in Oregon to crab in our opinion

Couple hints for your next trip.
1. Tuna heads work 4x better then chicken
2. those pots have to sit for 3-4 hours to allow the bigger crabs to find a way in, if you want to do faster 25-35 minute cycles use a crabbing ring.
Hope that helps making your next trip a bit more Eventful.

Gosh, you always make me hungry. I can already taste it from Austria. Such a shame. Austria doesn't have beaches and I live in Vienna, and the rivers of Vienna (Donau) is infested with fat Karp. There is only one way to make Karp taste good. I think I already said it in one video. I think it was aces video where I commented the recepe. I dare you to cook Karp the good way. (It takes 1 hour and 30 minutes) or at least that recepe. If u want to, Google about it. I highly recommend it.
I went crabbing on that same pier when I was in high school. Our teacher took us on a field trip to Newport and we learned how to crab! The crab looks soooo good!
Going back and watching from video 1. Making sure i didnt miss any videos. And i missed 1. I've got to say i love all your videos. But going back to the beginning shows how much youve grown as a content creator.

Oh my goodness! I used to live in Lincoln city and we crabbed there a lot! So here’s a secret, you can go on the right side of the rogue 101 brewery right at the beginning of that pier bridge. There’s a way to walk to the back of rogue 101 and crab off a little bridge! Always did good there. It’s pretty low key as well!

You should try some of the crab snares that Fisherman’s Life uses. They just attach to your fishing line on your pole and cast it out. He crushes the Dungeness crab with them!

Next time you go crabbing go to Charleston, oregon and stay at the Capt john's motel. It's the best crabbing from docks in oregon hands down. I limit out almost everytime I go.

That anytime I go to the coast is my go to. LOVE Newport and Yaquina Bay. Gotta go to the Lighthouse Deli anytime you go there! If you know you know man! Should have brought a crab ring as well so you could catch yourself a handful of Cabezon while you were at it lmao! Those Red Rock Crabs are famously the most consistent crabs you'll catch. Most claim they're terrible to eat, but those who've eaten them before, they say they're actually really good eating. The second place is Siletz Bay for sure. Also apparently ODFW shut down Razor Clamming season in November for the rest of the winter season, so the clamming for them is actually a no go now. Got my Fishing License for the first time in almost 9 years today, too! Super hyped to get fishing again!
I used to live in Oregon and i would crab on that dock all the time when i was a kid. Brought back some great memories. Theres also a jetty right around the corner from there where there is really good rock fishing. Just sink a night crawler to the bottom and you'll get bites all day

I've been smoking my beef steaks with apple-wood for many years now ! I'm convinced there is no better flavor to smoke your foods with ! One of these days, I'll have to try it on some crabs !

Those crabs look so delicious how you smoke them like that and man you should have just ate those knuckles dip them in that butter sauce stuff that you had and just not through them like a seal that's what I would have done but man that sounded and looked so good and how Smokey they were oh my goodness you do so much amazing stuff and I can't wait to do this as well

So have seen videos of people just harvesting the claw of the rock crabs since that is where the meat is at on them. They say you can take both close and they grow them back . You take a knife and poke right in that first joint to pop the claw off then free the crab to grow them back .

You should try using a crab snare. It works the best to catch crab from shore. It is attached to a fishing pole and so you can get it very far out.

Dude if you ever want a crabbing buddy I would so be down!!! Red rock crab are my favorite to eat smaller yes but sweeter meat! Also try adding hotdogs to your bait bag crab love hotdogs!
Hi! i actually dont think you should be crabbing off that dock, i mean its fine but i recommend the embarcadero Newport Oregon. We go Around October 18 ish every year and its amazing they have a private dock that you can fish and crab off of. let alone the 2 private boilers with huge pots on them, anyways love the vids
