TIP : if your catching ghosts crabs ,running after them is pretty tricky put a piece of bait on your hook and dangle it above the hole with your rod they should latch on to the bait and keep a bucket near so you can drop them straight in there 👍

@@alexanderwaddell8650 I sometimes use crab to fish saltwater spices here in the uk my go to it rag or lug worms tho there’s basically worms or roids you gotta dig em up from the beach it’s only when I went on holiday tho I found out you could catch those ghosts crabs so easily with your rod
That's the same way we used to catch crayfish with lunch meat or hot dog pieces !!! They don't want to let go ! l o l

Micah I think you may have put out excessive rope on your trap and it got caught in someone else’s prop. That would explain the clean break and the mangled trap
100% what happened. You can mitigate this risk by using weighted rope

Man, that brings back memories. Looks like your are at Hunting Island. I use to go there with my grandparents to the same inlet and catch flounder during the spring using mud minnows. My granddad would definitely use the fiddlers for sheepshead around the pilings to Fripp Island. His nickname was Papa Sheephead, because he caught so many. Thanks for the memory and keep the content coming. Good to see such a positive person showing off what SC has to offer...Thank you.

Me and my dad run a crabbing business in Charleston SC and I have never seen any one do that to a trap. I’ve seen people cut lines and lots of time they get run over by boats but in my 7 years of crabbing I have never seen anything like it.
Animal, If someone is going to have negative intent. They would just steal it, not worth the time and effort to bang it up when you could just pluck it in a minute.

Gotta say, wintertime, pre-spring, watch youtubes that relate to me. I'm in Myrtle Beach - Murrells Inlet, SC. Yesterday, and today, your vids are the most entertaining and relate to my "adventures" I've ever seen. Creek fishing, shrimp in cast nets, oysters, clams, and of course, blue crabs. I've had crap pots severed from their buoys by props, lost some buoys, lost some pots, recovered pots mangled by lower units. But you know, I kept them - bent and strung back into an in discernable shape, b/c, there is nothing more honorable in the creeks than a knarly crab pot. God Bless!

Went to the oregon coast last weekend. Snared 25 dungeoness crabs. Micah always a source of adventure inspiration.

I live line cocktail blues. You put a circle hook behind the top fin on a fish finder rig with a longer wired leader and shallow drag. Let it swim around. I've caught everything from 300-pound stingrays to 40-pound stripers. The same thing works with bunker/ manhaden. P.s. use 80-pound braid, lol.

Great video. The little fish you caught in the cast net was a spot. The long skinny one looked more like a needle fish. Don't forget to always bleed your fish 👍
32:27 Micah I think thats a small needlefish or a pipefish. Gar are not as long and skinny, even when very young.
Suggestion for the beach cart: for the sand stake rod holders, get a 1 ft piece of 4 in pvc pipe, glue a pvc cap to one end, then zip tie the apparatus vertically to the back of the beach cart so you can put your sand stakes in it
It definitely got in a propeller and got mangled, and the person on the boat saw your other trap and took it.
The line definitely got caught in somebody’s prop and whipped up and smacked their lower unit

Growing up in Hawaii, we would burry a 5 gallon bucket, fill it with bait. And those sands crabs will jump inside the bucket and get trapped. You should use this method over night and will wake up with a bucket full of sand crabs

Great video! We live in the upstate and visit that island several times a year. Stayed at that campground a couple of times. Now when we vacation, we stay in the neighborhood right on the other side of the inlet you’re fishing. Caught a 39” red and a 64” lemon shark back in July. If ever around anderson/Clemson area let me know, lunch or dinner is on me. I’ve got two restaurants, both of which you pass on your way to jocassee. Keep making awesome videos. My kids and I can’t get enough! Go Tigers!

Not that I need to explain, but I'm going just for kicks, the reason I can't go on a fishing or camping trip is because my baby is to young to go with us, the reason I edited was because just like all humans something we make a mistake while typing, and you would be lucky to have someone like me on a camping trip since I have literally been fishing, hiking, hunting, and camping since I was 2 years old. There is no negativity in my comment just in yours.

It wasn't a gator, a croc, boater, angry neighbor, thieves, or a hungry raccoon. Aliens love watching Micha if you didn't know. They couldn't figure out how to get the crabs out of the trap so they crushed it and cut the rope out of frustration. The 2nd crab pot was disintegrated.
