Best think I have found for lube is cheap wax sold at wallmart and elsewhere. Just rum it on (it comes in blocks and is really cheap) and your slider is like new. I apply about once every 3 months.

I use Permatex silicone lube spray. Works great. Get it at hardware store. Gets rid of that terrible screeeeeeeching noise.

I just take ajax and fabulouso...brillo pad and then blast garage door lube
