In my opinion: League is like a fine mixture of Football(European) and World War 2 Naval Warfare. Back in the days (I'm old) playing some football with the bros was a fun experience. You went out, played with the very basic rules of football: No hands, and you gotta kick the ball into the net. It went on for a few hours, wether someone was better or worse, you just had a bit of fun, and went home. Then one of the bros, who had a passion for Football joined the school's football team, and now all of a sudden the whole game is completely unenjoyable, because this one guy is playing competatively with the official rulebook. Worst of all, he is pointing out your mistakes, and it gets really annoying. League of Legends is the same experience. You jump into the game, you barely understand it but you figure out the basics, kill minions get paid, kill people get paid, get items, get stronger, kill people, get paid, destroy tower, maybe kill some lizard with wings, kill people, destroy more towers, win. It's all fun and games, literally. Nobody really knows what to improve on, and the worst argument you'll have is that you're playing on Bot, and you don't like the Support that bro picked, but it is really just fun. Then one of the bros, or maybe you, yourself, try ranked, and try to actually climb. Now the arguments begin, everyone sucks, and the competition and feelings of inferiority run wild among the group, (usually leading to full disbandment.) League of Legends is fun.....until Ranked's bloody head turns up, and ruins everything. Me and the Brothers don't play Ranked. We just fuck around and find out. And it's like WWII Naval Warfare, because...... If you know, you know.
WWII naval warfare because it slowly kills every living braincell in you because it takes forever and you have people constantly inting. sometimes (kog maw) with explosive effects
My friend told me the other day he didn’t mind the idea of competitively grinding the ranked ladder. I proceeded to call the nearest asylum for the insane. We are no longer friends.
