    B&M Racing introduces the new Precision SportShifter for 2005-2018 Jeep Wrangler #TJ and #JK models equipped with the NSG370 6-speed manual transmission. The unit features a CNC billet aluminum case with an electric blue anodized finish which houses internal components made from super tough 4140 chromoly. The shift throw has been reduced by 35% over the factory shifter along with the detent pressure which has been significantly increased creating a noticeably stiffer shift feel. This was done to address problems with the softness of the factory shifter detent springs which easily pop out of gear while off-roading. The shifter uses the factory shift stick and knob. However, it is also compatible with B&M’s new shift stick 46200 (compatible only with 2007-2018 JKs), which accepts all 3/8-16 threaded knobs. B&M Racing is the first and only company to address the JK's need for an upgraded manual shifter option. Lifetime Limited Warranty.

    I had the jump out of gear issue on my 08 Jeep Wrangler. 1rst gear was the problem. When taking off from a stop it would jump into neutral. When off roading in 1rst the same problem except sometimes it would jump into neutral as the motor revved to get over obstacles. Installed the B&M shifter and it resolved the JOG problem. I'm not saying it will fix the JOG issue for everyone but it did for me. When I pulled out the stock shifter I noticed there was no locking in 1rst to neutral. Almost as if neutral and 1rst were the same gear. With the B&M I can feel a positive lock into place for every gear. It's also a tight shifter with less play between gears instead of the sloppy long shifts of the factory wrangler shifter. Great product!

      Yep, still laughing...my knob broke and I had to replace it. Prying, pulling...I had to fully break it with vice grips and then twist and pull.

    For anyone watching this, you absolutely do not need to drop the gas tank like that. The two bolts for the gas tank skid will be removed from the cross member, then after removing the crossmember bolts, it easily slides out to the driver side.

      And of course you will need to remove the transmission mount nuts before the crossmember can slide out.

    Okay if you have a 2017 Jeep and up idk what year it starts but they have changed the gas tank.. it does not go down as far as you need it to in order to fit the doughnut foam piece around the shifter also the shifter stuck up a little higher then the stock one and it was banging on the metal fire wall making a knocking noise when I started the car and started moving. I fixed this by looking where it was touching and used a Dremel to cut a little bit of the metal off on both sides. Overall a lot more work behind the scenes then the video shows and everything is not that easy to take off like the plastic shift knob… broke mine but the b&m shifter is a lot nicer

      Agreed. Installing the foam isolator on my ‘16 was an absolute bear. I probably spent an hour fighting the isolator trying to get it in. No go. I ruined the replacement unit and had transmission banging as well. New isolator on order and try install again.

    Is there no way possible to squish that rubber isolator up through the interior, and then back, the same way, without dropping the skid plate, gas tank, trans, and cross-member?! That seems like a ton of extra work, requiring a lift or a lot of hard work, on your back with the Jeep on jack stands?

      We do recommend following the instructions to ensure that the shifter is installed correctly and functions properly. Although we have heard of some customers being able to install the unit without removal of the other major components.       So...I'm in the middle of this install at the time of this reply...I got the old one out no problem, however the new shifter is bigger and seems almost impossible to squeeze the new seal around the new shifter without that 4 inches of space. I will say this, It's been an adventure and the hardest part is this stupid $20 foam piece...It's not bad...you can do it. Cheers!

    I would prefer a torque spec on the bolts as opposed to "really tight"

      The sad thing is this video is from the manufacturer. I would expect the person representing their company online to give a torque spec and not say 'really tight'

      This shifter functions the same as the factory shifter with shortened throws and higher detent spring pressure to prevent the vehicle from disengaging itself from gear.     Question
    If you just plan on replacing the foam isolator with a new one, can you skip dropping the fuel tank and transmission? The average person doesn’t have access to a lift like you have.

      I tried doing this and wasn't able to drop the new foam isolator in from the top. Instead, I cut a slit on the passenger side of the foam isolator and installed it from the driver's side of the vehicle. Then, I connected it back together using some black RTV silicone. Time will tell how well this holds up, but I'm really not worried about it.

      @@zachjoi7965 any video or picsof that? Ive got a ton of armor, the whole underside is basically covered in bolted up 1/4" steel, and would love to avoid removing it to drop trans and tank... Any more info would be great on this thanks!

    My wife has a 2015 jeep jk with the 6 speed. Great video. Her jeep jumps out of 4th gear. I'm going to order one today to fix this. The jeep grinds sometimes going into 5th gear. Will this B&m help resolve thst issue to?

      I have a 2015 jk with 6 speed. I installed this B&M shifter over the weekend. Unfortunately Mopar has updated the foam seal to something more like firm styrofoam and it's not compressible at all.     Mine wont sit properly on the transmission when I put the shifter on top of the transmission. No matter how I try to put it in it seems like one side is higher than the other side.

    Was there an update on what parts were included with this shifter? The one I ordered recently came with a rubber gasket for the shifter mounting surface on the transmission, and neither the instructions or any install reviews online mention the gasket. Is it a change that replaces the step to use and apply silicone sealer?

    My 2008 JK pops out of first gear unless you hold on to the shifter. Would a shifter upgrade eliminate that or is that a deeper issue?

      There can always be an underlying issue that a new shifter will not alleviate, only a repair professional can perform an inspection and get you a solid answer for your application. When we designed the B&M Racing Precision Sport Manual Shifter not only has shift throw been reduced by 35% over the factory throw the detent pressure has been significantly increased creating a noticeably stiffer shift feel. This was done to address problems with the softness of the factory shifter detent springs which easily pop out of gear while off-roading. We have had nothing but excellent reviews for the Precision Sport Manual Shifter since its introduction and one of the comments that we hear is that the shifter no longer comes out of gear.       Clint mcfarland I have the same year and mine did the popping out of first and I just put in this shifter and wow want a difference. I don’t have to worry about it popping out, with that said this new shifter is tough to shift, which could be something on the inside of the transmission. I will probably be rebuilding the transmission some time soon. But for now this is working great.

    So, if your not a very handy or a mechanically incline person and can't install yourself, this is a $700-$1,000.00 upgrade. Yeah, that really seems worth it.

    Rewatching this video every other year cause b and m makes low quality products and im replacing the shifter rotator bolt regularly due to a crappy design flaw, don’t buy this unless u want ur jeep lookin good while not functioning
