  • This video shows how to tie the Dubuque Miller Rigs for walleye and sauger fishing. These rigs work great on the Mississippi River, especially in cold water. Please let us know if you have any questions!!

    Miller rig has been working real well. I tend to make my loops as small as possible to prevent tangles in the net. We've tried both rigs the last 3 days and miller has been tops by far. I've slowed my troll down under .05 to .03 mph. Bigger fish for sure on the miller rig. The fish we've found have been scattered. Main channel has produced our bigger fish. Released 2 saugers over 23 yesterday. I will be back out after the rain. Great video!!

      Thanks! I think we'll be down there tomorrow! Good tip on the speed. I'll keep that in mind.

    My brother and I are going to pull Millers and Dubuques Wednesday! I did NOT think I’d be on the river fishing over Xmas break, but I’m not upset about it!

      With the lack of safe ice in the area, it's nice to still have that as an option!

    Nice info. I haven’t tried the miller rig yet. I’ll have to tie some up for next trip. I pre tie my rigs and store them on a pool noodle. Hook the jigs in the foam and just push the snaps in
    Thanks for the tips and happy new year

    You use florocarbon but can mono be used? Are there pros and cons that I should know and just go out and get some floor? Thanks for the video,

      You can use mono if you want. Lots of people do. I use fluoro because that’s what I use for all my leader material so that’s what I have.

    What size jig are you using for the miller rig?

    • @positivelyfishing1810
      @positivelyfishing1810  6 месяцев назад

      We are using light jigs. 1/8 or 1/16. Make sure the jig has a good hook! Sometimes light jigs have weak hooks.

      I usually have a jig/plastic on the dropper and a hook/minnow on the trailer line.
