Great channel man! I have fished with my dad all my life and it is where my most valuable lesson were learned. I fish with my 3 kids whenever I can. Life lesson come easy at the waters edge! Cherish your parents while you have them. People aren’t permanent! I like the fact that you teach people to make rigs themselves. I’m gonna buy your stuff just to support your channel, as well as make what you show! See you on the water brother!
just wanted to say "thank you". i have been watching your videos for a couple years now and i have been using your knots ever since. first you had a "stand off" rig, which then became a T-knot, which is now an "improved" T-knot. thank you for sharing your knowledge. i always hope to make better fisherman of other people through your experiences. tight lines. johnny
I think I'm starting to get the hang of this knot. Been a rough time trying to get my coordination down. Your videos sure help! I love watching and listening to you and your dad. I lived in Jacksonville when I was a kid. We lived in Southside and I went to Hendricks Avenue Elementary. Learned to fish at the Duck Pond. Sadly, we moved away but I carry many fond memories of life there. Keep up the good work, love you guys
Awww how sweet that your dad took the time to do this with you and spend time with you it’s not only about advertising it’s showing your customers the quality time you spend together. sweet!! Thank you for showing us how to do that knot pop!! 🥰😬
Exactly what I got from this! Ya. Positive time with your pops and it's on video. Priceless...great comment!! I'll be using this technique soon! Thanks again a big High Five 🤚 to your Dad and camera girl 👍
Thank You for sharing so many of Your tips and knowledge. It is very Awesome that You get to spend so much quality time with Your Father (and other Family members as well), You are truly fortunate... My wife is from the Philippines. We have bought property there, that sits just 1 km (1/3 mile) from the beach, and overlooks the Gulf of Langayen. The 100 Islands National Park is just a mile away. We should be moving there, within a year, and I cannot wait to start both Surf fishing, and getting out on a boat, for Saltwater jig fishing... You, Your Father & Erin are all awesome. I've been freshwater fishing for decades, but soon I'll move up the the Seas, and home of some true Monster's. Thanks to You, I'll avoid so many beginners mistakes, and skip a lot (although not all), trial and errors. We watch You guys all the time. We don't always like, but we do get through most commercials, and have shared Your channel with Family and Friends in the Philippines...Again, Many Thanks & wishing You all, continued success
After watching the first version, I have tied this knot many times, and is the go-to knot for beach fishing. I even tied one while waiting for the ferry last time I was in Port Aransas.
Ive been using this t knot since started watching your channel... I'm gonna use a high Low rig with float on the top hook to keep it up and keep the bottom hook closer to the floor... Man this rig is insane... Thanks guys
Its 12:03 at night just tied my first T knot not the best but thanks to u and ur dad i got cant find my swivels then remembered this Video. fishing early morning so well see how it goes thank you 😄
Like most of the people here have commented..I've learned how to tie my knots and my own leaders through u guys..and when I do get asked about it by others, I let them know how I learned..thanks again
It’s great that you have learned these knot tying skills from your dad. My dad died when I was a baby and I’ve always envied men who have had a great relationship with their dads.
This is my go to knot since I learned from your other video. I’ve already master it (no mouth used as older brother said back then) I noticed you’re using a different method for tying the first part in this video, I tried it but I still get neater coils with the original method. And yes, I oversized too but some times I wonder if oversizing makes line more detectable, I would like to hear your words on that
Thanks for sharing how you tie these rigs. I've been making some up and they work well for my fishing in the Persian Gulf. So when you make up multiples of these rigs for a trip, how do you store them so they don't get tangled? Thanks again and keep up the great content
Good info for many out there...I think I remember you saying you dad invented this knot, the T knot, in one of your videos, and you make it seem like it quite a bit. Fact is was first documented back in by H. Cholmondeley-Pennell in 1886, which means it could have been in use prior to that. Just as to clarify the matter, You might want to give the credit where due and a bit of history about the knot in one of your videos 😏 He was the author of: The modern practical angler : a complete guide to fly-fishing, bottom-fishing & trolling.
It's a really nice looking knot, but can you make some videos testing how strong it is compared to other popular knots, please? When I tried tying this, it turned out to be extremely week every time, so I stopped using it. It might just be me, you have been using it for a lot longer, so you can probably make it stronger, but I would love to see if it's worth trying at all. Thank you.
I am new to your channel. Love everything that you and your Dad do!! My name is Mike and I live outside of St Louis and I have been fishing since I was 5yrs old. I’m 58 now and I have fished just about every lake and stream here in Missouri. I have never fished saltwater but I am really looking forward to trying my hand at it this June when I visit my Brother in law who lives in Braedenton Fl right by Anna Marie Island. I was hoping for some advise on a rod and reel purchase. I don’t want to go cheap but not spend a ton of money. I want to try surf fishing as well as pier fishing. Is there a combo that you could suggest that would be able to be used for both? I have thousands of dollars in freshwater equipment and if I like saltwater I’m sure I will invest more as time goes on, I just don’t want to get crazy until I see if I like it or not. I’m not a trophy fisherman but rather want to eat what I catch. Thank you for your help!!!
This is Mike! Skipper’s dad. I’ll suggest to try the Phoenix rod first. For pier fishing get a Phoenix 8ft rod and Shimano Stradic 5000. For surf fishing, get a 13 ft Phoenix rod with the same 5000 stradic as well. Good luck!
The best T-shaped thing ever created to hook up since IUD
Bahahahh
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hahahahaha
You got a really good dad right there, treasure ever moment with him. Thanks for the helpful tip.

Student doing pretty well. Dad is a marvelous teacher.

I TRIED IT WITH THE LAST VIDEO, NOT SURE IF IT CAME OUT RIGHT BUT IT LOOKED PRETTY GOOD, I'M BACK FOR MORE, THIS KNOT IS AMAZING

That’s how I set mine up too. Works great. I make the top hook line longer and bottom hook line shorter to the mainline

Yep, my Dad was killed in August 1945 when I was only 10 months old. I do envy those people. I hope they appreciate their relationship.
@@stephenater9687 I’m sorry to hear that. It’s not easy growing up without a father. May God bless you.
I tried your T knot but I did a little improvement and would like to share with you. It’s an idea I came up with back in the 70’s
Excellent. Easy to follow. Most others assume you know the basics. Not this video, very good. You tube university.
I'm gonna work on tying this knot. I think it would be a great for catfish. Thanks for the tutorial.

Hello, another beautiful interesting family video.
For the dropper loop knot I can put the hook inside the loop so that the hook slides?
Thank you
Just tried it, it didn’t look like yours but getting there. This will be good for catfish, thanks bud
Another great tip video
Nice video kool knots I've used it, It's great
Do I have to use a float with the rig? and if I do, should I use a weighted or bobber float? thank you
Have you tried putting a small dull colored float at the top of rig just under top swivel to add action in surf ?
Awesome!!! Got it
Best vedio ,,,,thanks your knowledge
you should put a power head in the tank to get some water flow in there!! 🤙🏽
If I’m running bigger cut bait will 2 floats keep it up off the main line ??
Thanks for sharing how you tie these rigs. I've been making some up and they work well for my fishing in the Persian Gulf. So when you make up multiples of these rigs for a trip, how do you store them so they don't get tangled? Thanks again and keep up the great content
I use a T knot also

Love you guys videos.

Hey skipper. Do you think the float setup would be good for river catfish.
thanks this is a very helpful video
Thank You.
Awesome video
Great video
What lbs test and line diameter is that approx pls? I'm having a hard time on thick nylon
I would tie a bunch of them ahead to have them ready to go in case your line breaks or gets worn
Can i use this for carp???😅
Hey skipper, I really like this rig. How do I get your products?
Hey Skipper have you ever tried your shrimpy bits or other salted baits in fresh water? I am very curious if freshwater catfish would eat them.
What pound test line are you using? Mono?

Great video guys, where can we get the floats from?

Would this work for stocked rainbow trout using worms?
15:02 what size snap swivel do you use.

Tank view: My thought to try would be: Top hook with float bottom hook no float sounds good to me LOL
Good video!

Hello Sir, why not make a video on the DROP SHOT RIG AT SEA assembly it could be a good idea and a new technique for us subscribers.
Thank you🙋♂️🙂👍.
Can this be used with braid ?
No not really, the line needs to be thicker
早晨Uncle!

Good luck!
“I’m your dad”. He’s gonna be yo ass! Old Chinese guys don’t mess around with the respect!
Спасибо вам все очень доходчиво
