I have all 3 Cobra One Length Hybrids 5h, 4h and 3h(I also made a custom one length 6h). They are amazing clubs, but you do not need all three, the gapping is not good enough between the three imo. If you only get one, get the 4h. If you want two, get the 5h and 3h. The 3h also is the most inconsistent imo, I might switch back to a full length 3h to see if more club head speed can help.
So I watched this video a few weeks ago. My gapping is 5 wood (18) 4 iron (22). I can fly my 4 iron 200m off the tee and it’s pretty good but I find off the deck I get a bit toey and I can’t use it from any sort of rough. I jumped on eBay and bought a one length Speed Zone 3 hybrid for 149 AUD. I hit it for the first time tonight and WOW. I hadn’t warmed up, was barefoot, picking up my kids from their session and thought I’d hit a couple. It just went. Thanks Alex, this looks like a game changer. I NEVER would have thought of this club.
My favourite iron is my PXG 6-hybrid (28 degrees). That club changed my game and made it fun because I have a LOW STRESS 175 yard high shot on to the green (and always very straight). I now bag 4,5,6 hybrids and my long-approach game is now FUN! No regrets only playing 7 iron and up. I tried the OL 4/5 hybrid but I couldn't get the height and also my brain could not adjust to trying to blast a hybrid 200 yards with a short shaft. I'm able to smoke hybrids that are 40 inches or less so it's not a concern for me anymore. But I see a place for it.
I have both the 19* and the 24* Cobra one length hybrids. Picked them up on the cheap. I don’t always carry the 24*, but the 19* hasn’t left my bag since I bought it. ⛳️
Alex I’ve had one in the bag for 4 years. It’s so easy to hit, 220/230 yards every time. Sometimes hit off the tee too for a fairway finder. Can work it both ways too. Yes it looks like a child’s golf club but I don’t care 😂
I love the one-length hybrid and have the Speedzone one-length in my bag. It is the most versatile club I have ever had. It's easy at low stingers and high flighty ones, making the low draws and fades, long low chips, and soft punch shots out of a wooded area. Heck, I've used it as a putter. Me and a buddy had a bet you had to use only one club for the whole hole on a par 4. Using just it I still made a par.
I had to pick up a 21 deg. After watching this. Will have to swap shafts cause I couldn’t find anything stiff, but still in the black rather than buying something newer. This will be first hybrid in my bag. I’ve always liked the rails on this thing. Will do my best to make this club proud.
My favorite club in the bag still is my Callaway XR 4h, 3 iron replacement ~ 9 yrs old. It carries about 170 and 185 total. Hybirds have huge sweet spots to start w and the entire face on this club is sweet. Done w 5 woods now too, heads are too small and consistency is hard. Just bought a Wilson Dynapwr 3h 19° and love this club, 180 carry 200 total . May even look to a 2h for my 3 wood
Great post! - I use 3 hybrids, 3,4 and 5 Mizuno CLK's with 1 extra degree of loft on each for gapping into the top iron is in the bag, 6 iron which I carry 170 yds. I never consistently got a good 10+ yard gap between 5 and 4 iron on the course. The hybrids get there for me, topping out at 200 yards carry with the 3. I play off 6 also, been in single figures for 20+ years.
I definitely enjoy carrying a few hybrid clubs in my bag. I prefer to make the game easier and enjoyable than carrying a 3 and 4 iron in the bag. I'll have to check out that club in the future. Great video as always!
I was looking at the One Length hybrid earlier today. I'm already running the LTDx One Length irons and lately I've been playing around with clubs in the 18-21 deg range.
Hahahaha I have the 4 hybrid one length in my bag love it especially in and around trees and shrubs a true rescue allows me to shape it I get decent swing under trees etc. And average 180 metres with slight draw bias. It can even double as a decent putter in a pinch!
This is the area of my bag that I just cannot fix! I had the Ltd X one length 4 and 5 in the bag for a while but I found that they just came out too flat, maybe due to lack of speed! I've currently got a 4 and 5 iron with light graphite to help with the launch but still struggle to get a good decent angle on long par 3's and approaches. Trying a 7 wood at the moment but would like to try the one length hybrids again maybe with a different shaft, any ideas?
I'm intrigued to try one, but I'm nearer retirement than your age (and 135kg, so not that flexible!) and with a swing speed that sees a 6i going 150y in winter, I'm not super convinced I'll hit it any further than I hit my beloved Cleveland Launcher hybrid 5 "iron". Yeah it's 1" longer than a 7i, but on a bad day I just grip down, 'cause that's what you do! So I think I might already have effectively the same club! My good hits off the tee are past my playing partners bad drives. I've got the 3 and 4 (same model club) as well but 90% of the time I hit them lower and more off line. Yeah I scream the odd one another 30 yards but does it matter?
You say a hybrid but is it a 2, 3, 4 hybrid, what degree is the loft, it really does not matter what the number on the bottom says, it is the degrees of loft that is important. My best club is a Callaway rogue 4 hybrid, 20 degrees loft.
8 iron is my favourite. For me, that’s 140yds. My 6 is 160 yds. I feel most comfortable using my 3 wood off the tee at 215 yds. Would something like the this help my game?
I enjoy your reviews . When showing a club like this swinging at an average golfer club head speed would reveal a better result . Many 100 mph club head swingers may not bag a hybrid iron
Its actually my 8 iron. Ive made a lot of swing changes lately and my yardage has changed A LOT since im compressing the ball more! 160 use to be my 7 iron. Now its my 8. But even my higher irons ( 3,4,5 ) are now clutch clubs. But i am only 5’5 so the ball flight is still not high enough for me. Course i play with old school callaway fusion irons, so im sure a new set would bring that ball up
Not in my experience. SAS golf has a great video comparing the new One length hybrids vs. older models. I have the LTDx and they perform the same as the Dark Speed.
I'd absolutely love a 7 wood for these long par 3 situations but it is impossible to find a 7 wood in a stiff shaft let alone x stiff for me to try one before I buy one. No idea why the manufacturers limit their shafts to L, S, and R flexes in their 7 woods. Would love to hear your opinion on why this is. Surely there is a market for it?
How would i get fitted for one of these for shaft, swing weight and it looks like there is a screw in weight that could be customized based on swing? Looks like this is not sold anymore and they only have darkspeed and aerojet on their site nowfor the one lengths....niether if them have the speed rails. If i cant get fitted for one of the old ones with speed rails, which of the two new ones would he the most forgiving, east to hit...etc?
Alex, found the same model you are using in this video at $80 US. Ordered 21* and 24* and the clubs are new. Decided to try these after watching this video. I have been playing hybrids since the original Bobby Jones hybrids came to market about 20 years ago. One question, have you replaced your grips and did you have to do anything about the difference in grip weight. I play an oversize grip and the factory grips are not comfortable.
My favorite driver I ever had was called an Air Zevo. First driver I bought for myself. I got to where I could smash that puppy! Wish I never got rid of it. New and shiny enticed me away. You find a club that fits you, you stick with it. Reahaft it. Redurbish it. But keep it around.
Because it goes too high (if you can swing fast enough), the idea of a lofted hybrid was to replace a 4 or 5 iron for those who can't get those clubs airborne. But others who can muster a bit of swing speed use them because they're so easy to use. If by implying you won't hit it further with less loft you're also implying Bryson hits his PW and his 4i the same distance cause he plays all one length irons.
The loft? You do not mention the loft once. You keep banging on about 7 iron, banging on about 230yds, but you never mention the loft. Without that data, you are talking nonsense, excitable nonsense. Be better
*This is absolutely faultless…you will consider this now!*
I have all 3 Cobra One Length Hybrids 5h, 4h and 3h(I also made a custom one length 6h). They are amazing clubs, but you do not need all three, the gapping is not good enough between the three imo. Loving my 5 iron lately. Just ordered a ping g430 7 wood.

Love the video, but those pants.....capris.... must go.
🤣🤣🤣
They are horrific tbf!!!!
"Nice pants, ...do they make them for men?" 🤣
My favorite club is a gap wedge and #2 is my 4hybrid
If it works Alex, it works, don’t listen to the negative ninnies, just use it and enjoy

My favorite is anything 8 and higher :-) and my 7 wood.
Surprise! It's my Takomo 101 4-iron! This thing is amazingly easy to hit and it goes 180 yds.

19 degree 3 i have the 21
Degree 4 of the same club definitely a game changer
Cobra king tec 3 and 4h.
3h is permanent. 4h replaces longest iron 4i depending on course and weather conditions.
F7 3 and 4hybrids in my bag, love them.
My favorite is my 6 iron then I go hybrid 5 and 3 wood. You have to try the PXG black ops hybrid and woods
8 iron is my favourite. For me, that’s 140yds. My 6 is 160 yds. I feel most comfortable using my 3 wood off the tee at 215 yds. Would something like the this help my game?

Have the Radspeed OL, agree it’s a versatile club and there cheap to pick up

I assume the Dark Speed is the better option now with the 1 length, correct?
Not in my experience. SAS golf has a great video comparing the new One length hybrids vs. older models. I have the LTDx and they perform the same as the Dark Speed.
Callaway epic max 13 wood, yes it's a guys club,6 iron equivalent, perfect for par 3s,lands sooo soft
The oldest and most reliable clubs in my bag are my two Cobra F6 hybrids set at 19.5° and 22.5°.
I'd absolutely love a 7 wood for these long par 3 situations but it is impossible to find a 7 wood in a stiff shaft let alone x stiff for me to try one before I buy one. I still game my F9 3 hybrid.
What is your swing speed ?
what loft is the hybrid ?

love this!
What is the loft?? Did I miss it?
Ignore the negative comments about the hybrid golf club, Alex.
But maybe listen to the ones about your style choices - your pants are 4” too short.
Would have been nice to have seen you hit 3 seven iron shots along with the 6 hybrid one length.
Does anyone know how this F9 compares to the aerojet ?
My cobra f7 hybrid 19° best club in my bag ! But not one length 🤷♂️
PW is my favorite.
1 iron is my fav
8 iron usually
I play the same club, but standard length.
what's the degree oof the hybrid?
It showed it in the video - 19 degrees
19 deg
No favorite iron. I prefer hi lofted woods and hybrids.
I'd use mine more if I didn't keep topping it!
I'll stick with my 6 iron for safety.
If it works, use it! 👍
5 iron or 7 wood
Ive got sirxion355 hybrids amazing clubs easy to launch and so forgiving big heads
I love Puma:(
Your golf buddies are just mad bc you're smoking shots and they're shanking it into the trees.
C,mon get real - most players can’t hit a 26 hybrid over 200 yards!
Mine would just go up in the air 😂
Because it goes too high (if you can swing fast enough), the idea of a lofted hybrid was to replace a 4 or 5 iron for those who can't get those clubs airborne.

If by implying you won't hit it further with less loft you're also implying Bryson hits his PW and his 4i the same distance cause he plays all one length irons.
Give me a break Alex, an amateur playing a 230 yd par 3. No way.
That was a lot of shouting
The loft? You do not mention the loft once. You keep banging on about 7 iron, banging on about 230yds, but you never mention the loft. Without that data, you are talking nonsense, excitable nonsense. Be better
🫡
8 iron
Got to agree nothing beats it! Best club in the bag! Fairway finder safe club that does everything! Great review Alex 🏌🏽💥👌🏼
thank you!!
I love my 7 wood. Cobra ltdx
Ping G410 9 wood! 🐊🏌⛳️🦅🇺🇲❤️
