*Would you game these irons/Hybrids? Should they be in your bag? Find out here*
Absolutely. The goal is to get the ball in the cup in as few strokes as possible
What the tools look like to get me there I absolutely Don care 1 bit.
Who’s liking the look of these??
Love these!!😊
I bought a couple of these last month - 9 and 7 iron (to replace my 8 and 6 irons). I damaged my wrist on a practice mat and thought that these would transmit less shock than my irons (Apex 19 pro) which they did really well. They are very easy to drill on wet winter fairways, but their flight was very high and liable to be affected by the wind. I also found that both clubs leaked a bit right, so would need some swing changes to get them to work for me. Wrist now on the mend and I have started to use my irons again. If you like playing hybrids or are thinking of swapping irons for hybrids, then I think these are a super choice.
I don’t see a problem with them because I hit three in my bag 2, 4 & 5 Cleveland love their flight!
I went to their Hereford factory to chat and try them out in their indoor range. I ended up buying the Sandblaster, and P-6. They are great clubs! The only picky thing is that the number on the covers would be better at the top of the cover so you can identify them better in your bag.
I just order a #8 on 8.july to try out. Looks functional to me. Thanks for the vid Alex.
My ball striking had been declining over the past five years. It finally got to the point where a thorough evaluation was required. I had a terrible experience with a golf fitting (Club Champion--USA) and was all out of sorts. On a whim after watching a number of reviews I purchased a full set of the Eleven hybrids. I haven't had these clubs long, but I can offer a quick review. First, the people at Sub70/Eleven Golf were tremendously responsive and helpful. They accomodated my iron specs and shipped the clubs to me quickly and less expensively than I expected. Regarding performance, for me these are like cannons. The club lofts are comparable to one level up from my old irons. With a full swing they average 10-15 yards longer. From a full swing they are also easy to hit and extremely accurate. Now the picky part... A full set of these completely filled my bag--considerably more to bang around than with my irons. That means the head covers are necessary (unless you don't mind marred club heads) and those covers are a royal PITA. I also like to walk the local course, usually taking a partial set in a lightweight pencil bag. I am accustomed to "chippy" shots when bridging normal club distances. That's where these clubs failed for me. I cannot take a partial swing (yet) without a mis-strike. Shaping is also impossible (but in fairness they are not sold as "shaping" clubs). Even though I could hit the 9-iron, the pitching wedge might be better pitched elsewhere in the garage. Overall the clubs are well-constructed, and I don't have any regrets for purchase. However, knowing what I know now, I would change my purchase from 3-PW to 4-7, thereby replacing the 3-iron with a fairway wood (that is also better off the tee when appropriate) and traditional irons from 8-PW. As I stated above, the staff represent both Sub70 and Eleven Golf. If you contacted them and suggested this approach I have virtually no doubt they would accomodate you with a wonderful set of clubs suited for you.
I bought an entire set of hybrids on ebay. Didn't know what to expect, but, I absolutely love them and has taken years off my aging game.
This year I bought a set of Majek senior hybrids, 3 through PW, and I love them. Oh, and mine came with those stocking-style head covers too. I use them to prevent chipping of the finish, but they are a PITA.
I have a similar set. Bought to reduce impact for my arthritis and wish i had them years ago. I love them
Wonderful! I feel like they are a game changer!
I have a set of Lazrus hybrids they are longer shafted than my irons, they go far but they don’t seem to have any feel, but you look up and they just go! It’s crazy!
I have had the Lazrus hybrids…length too long in shorter irons and the shaft is questionable. I have supported Lazrus previously, but ordered a set of these due to proper length and upgraded shaft by KBS.
I have the same situation. I feel the Lazrus doesn't give me any feel at all. I'm thinking of buying a set of these. Have you got your clubs Rusty? What do you think of them coming from Lazrus? Should I just buy a set or order a single first? Shall I just dive in ? Cheers Paul @@rustystokes1404
Alex - I love the hybrids. I have Ping down to 7. Looking to replace 8-PW. Going to give ELEVEN a try. Thank you for feedback.
I’m expecting my new eleven hybrids this week can’t wait to use them 😊
Hi Alex - really love your content. Could you please compare and contrast the Elevens to the Thomas Golf Hybrid sets from California? Thanks - Manny from Toronto.
That’s a great idea 🙌🏼🙌🏼
That was fun to watch! Thanks!
I would enjoy playing these at age 61 and around 14 handicap. I would drop the 3 and P irons, keep my driver, 3 and 5 woods, three wedges and my putter.
I have a 2 thru 5 in my bag. Very confidence helping! Thanks
I love the 770s and the new ones look great. Can i afford them and will they be better than my 923 hot metal pros i wonder
…i tossed out my irons out years ago…went to 3 to pw… there is even a hybrid chipper…as Jack said “ there are sweepers and there are diggers “…and hybrids are sweepers that are totally easier to hit by a recreational golfer…
I am LH and they now do these in LH so have ordered the 7 iron just to see what they are like, i would like to point out though that you said you were going to hit from the fairway when in fact you actually teed the ball up on all three shots, just an observation.
I bought a set of cobra T rails 4-PW cheaper than the eleven due to postage and tax’s etc
Best thing I’ve done for my game
I've turned 65 and am looking at Hybrids to ease my game I don't know if it's a good idea
i have now in my bag 3-6 ping hybrid and i have always hit them well. i would like a whole set sometime, i'm 74 yrs. old and a 13 hdcp.
Definitely the sort of clubs for those with a low swing speed and struggling for distance. I’m not sure about a new golfer though, especially someone looking to improve as opposed to a very casual golfer. You’d imagine that that sort of person would grow out of these clubs quite quickly, and then there’ll be a limited market to sell on second hand.
I play a full set of callaway GBB hybrids. Best decision! Swing 50% and it goes straight as an arrow and full distance
Working on what I can sell to pay for these!
Also, with a hybrid iron like this, is getting them in a flat lie a relevant question? In iron fittings I come out needed a 2 degree flat lie. That said, I hit my regular hybrids fairly well.
So if you hit a shorter driver, then your next shot is a longer iron / hybrid / fairway wood. Then third shot if needed for a par 4 or 5 just does the same to get on the green.
If you are a longer driver, you are then using a shorter club for your second shot and still shorter for a third if needed. Both ways get you greens in regulation and leaves you 2 putts for par either way.
Great review, Alex! Eleven Golf rocks!!
thank you! and yeh!
Would want to see what the numbers for distance and dispersion would be for the 3 4 and 5. I am 62 and just went to a set of G425 irons 5-LW.
yeah that’s true!!
Hi Alex i game the 6/7/8 elevens best move I’ve made
The only hybrid I carry in my bag is a Taylormade Stealth 2, 25 degree 5 hybrid with a Ventus shaft. I hit it very well, but I'm wondering if the Eleven 5 would outperform it?
Great question! i would have to do a direct comparison… would be interesting!
Nice clubs. Every club manufacturer needs to go back to the "sock type" headcover.
Just bought a 4&5, gaming them tomorrow so we will see
Are the shafts of these hybrids longer or shorter or the same length as a regular iron? The clubs look great. Love all your videos
I believe same length!
Thanks Alex, great video!
Not keen on hybrids as they appear bulky behind the ball and as you say the loft on them terrifies me as I feel they are going to go straight up in the air. Plus chipping there is no spin therefore control on the shot. Feels to me would suit high handicap player looking for distance but not ideal for someone looking for control in the short game. Good video analysis though. But I will stick with my srixons though great irons and super soft with the short irons.
Great review, tahnks. BTW, where were you playing at?
Thanks! This was filmed at infinitium golf resort in spain
I've seen versions of this around for 35 years
Unless I’m mistaken, these are not available over here in the USA.
Dónde puedo adquirir estos hibridos
Alex great review. Eleven do wedges be good to review them as well.
thank you!!
Big question is would these be better for people with arthritis
Could you review the Lazus hybird iron set. They are 399 U.S.
coming soon !
Cool. Thank you
I should be buying these as a 5 hcp. Ok I’ll give it a go. Ask my pga pro & let you know what he said. Cheers
Yeah let me know!
@@HowGoodGolfhe laughed at me saying are you having a laugh!
Out of thick rough, your conventional 4i won't do well either right?
Yeah
Add a sandy andy and there you go. A full set of hybrids.
ALEX, What do you call that gadget "Full Swing" that reads the distance the ball travels? Where to order that? Thanks, Gil (from the Philippines)
Direct at full swing!
Looks likes I'm buying multiple sets of clubs and this one is part of that
Top review Alex
thank you!!
when i've seen old picyures of golfers from the 1800's some of their clubs look like hybrids to me. guys like alan roberson and maybe the the morrisons father and son.
Probably zero chance. I'm actually reducing the # hybrids from 3 to 1 or 2. Replacing a 5h with a 5i which should give me better control and dispersion on misses even if I might get a lower trajectory and more rollout on greens with the iron.
I’ve seen James Robinson test them.
Why not swing it at the speed of the target demographic ? I doubt they are targeted at someone who hits a 7 iron 180 yards.
You should play 9 holes to see a true performance test.
This would be a great test
I bet on better with crossovers.
Not sure why you're testing out of the rough. I've never seen irons tested out of the rough
But you hit irons out the rough? Do I feel this is a good thing to test
You need to settle your hands down when your talking bro its so distracting lol. Nice video though
hahah sorry pal! thanks for watching
