I would agree but I know mick jagger wouldn’t. But mick wanted that jumping around the stage unpredictable lizard king with tons of screams and manic energy and a powerhouse voice That in part was Jim Morrison but the sensual quieter more refined pull you in part of his vocals and performance is something that made Jim Morrison more intriguing more mysterious. He pulls you in and then lets you have it. Rest in peace lizard king!

I was lucky enough to see John Densmore and Robbie Kreiger live. Although John didn’t play much music it was an experience I’ll never forget. I saw Robbie play live at the Whiskey a Go Go with my brother on the 23rd of October and it was amazing. I can officially say I saw 2 of the remaining Doors in person.
There are plenty of talented artists today my friends. A prime example I use is Kendrick Lamar. You’re probably not into hip hop and rap, but Kendrick is an excellent and very talented writer, with an amazing way with words.
@velvetwatermelon2647 As much as I love Kdot, he's only a drop of water in the sea of dog shit that is modern music. Also it's weird that both of them are from California.
The real magic is in how the band was able to produce such great music while trying to cover for/adapt to a drunk, drug addict who was essentially out of control. I'm from that era & I recognize both the magic of Jim Morrison, and the excellence of the band. Damn I wish he had lived a few years longer & collaborated with Janis Joplin!
Jim Morrison en todo su esplendor, hombre hermoso, talentoso, divino. ¡¡¡Que tema!!!!. Grandes por siempre The Doors. Escuchando esta maravilla hoy 18 de Agosto de 2024.
all i think about is a few thousand miles away there were young men dying in vietnam at the same time they were playing. this is the end, indeed. what a wild time in history.
@@drinkingpoolwater Harrison ford was a carpenter before he got his big break from Star Wars. He also helped construct The Doors’ stage equipment for this show and he was also one of the camera operators for this show. Mick Jagger was also at this show, in the front row, cause earlier that day, he asked Jim for advice on how to be a better frontman.
Ok. Carpenter and cameraman. Not related with the lightman. Come on.... About Mick Jagger, yes, is truth. Mazarek said it on the interview in the DVD. He said the girlfriend's Jim was the whole time sitted on the knees of Jagger. Jim gave them a cigarette during the concert. I think Jim was the whole concert little bit jealous saying all the time "my girl look real good" and some things like that. Anyway, I need to have more proof to believe that Harrison Ford was the Mr. Lightman.

How dafuc you manage to get this video quality? This is the best video quality of a concert from 68 in the entire universe! This is beyound 4k, 8k, fucin infinite K!
That's because it's printed on film, it's until recently we stopped using those. The first Avengers movie was shot on film which has an incredible resolution the problems you may encounter when watching a low quality old video comes either from a copy problem or from an upload compression
It was common that he would get drunk before going on stage. Wine was his favorite. He was naturally shy and an introvert. So getting drunk before going on to loosen up was normal.
I loved the Doors as a 90s kid, haven't ever seen what they looked like to be honest. Jim grabbed my attention for sure, listening to the lyric's again I think I'd have to be as high as a kite to understand it.
What I really love about you all wannabe drug users, is that you are so sure that Jim is on acid because John said so, and not because you can tell. Clearly, you never had an acid experience. Better go and rinse you face with cold water after a long day of gaming. Boy.
7:28 EY! HEY! I want to say more about the black cross, the grasshopper and the car, that can't be stoped and YOU want me to sing with your Moppelei Accords.
The audience laughs like this was a joke. But it couldn’t be further from a laugh. While it clearly was drug induced (his lyrics) he meant it. But man. Imagine being there.
Dude is having visions mid performance 😂 what a legend
Gotta thank Mr. Lightman for not dimming the lights, otherwise the video of this performance wouldn't be seen the way it is
Stupid lightman ruined it. Literally.
Harrison Ford : /
It was just how jim wanted it
I’ve read it was recorded with a single candle burning. I get his request of the light man.
This has to be one of the best performances ever.
I agree
a month exactly after RFK was assassinated, a few months after MLK was assassinated and about six months after the Tet offensive. this is the 60s!
Oh Yea! 😎

I am immensely grateful to be able to see and hear this in 2024! I'm from Brazil and I love the doors
E eu tbm..
John Densmore the greatest drummer ever, no one under plays to the dynamics of the song like John
best of the 60s but not the best ever. john bonham is the best ever.
Absolute modern day masterpiece.
Perfeição em tudo luzes performance, instrumentos a voz dele isso nessa época
They will only turn out those lights when the music's over
When you're on LSD, your pupils are dilated...bright light sucks.
HE WAS AN ARTIST ❤
Pure GOLD
Back in the days when artists actually had talent
I agree so much like artists nowadays have to lip sync during concerts because they can’t do anything without autotune

Congrats to the musicians to be able to keep up w Mr Morrison and ride the blue bus til the end of this journey
Wow if you were present at this concert, you rock and are a legend.
Doors had the magic, what a voice, great band, great songs, ... these bad boys had it all working.
The build and the drop at 7:55 is the heaviest shit ever
It must have been so cool to be there, imagine saying “I was in that performance”

Well, Jim's dad was the command officer as Navy Admiral when they invaded Vietnam. So think about that and let it brew.

Jim Morrison was the epitome of the phrase "Never let them know your next move"
thank you for this 🙏
No problem. Hopefully it stays available this time :-)
This is a great audio (and visual) recording. Amazing.

It helps.
They're legalizing psychedelic shrooms in AZ and Co. You really ought to give it a try, safer and cleaner than LSD.
no..yes..no.. the lyrics are clear.
Somewhere out in the universe the lights were turned off

I have just a 3 words to say - Jim Morrison is a God!
That's more than 3 words

Then why would he sing, "Father ... I want to kill you." ... "Mother ... I want to ... f you ....". ? 08:25 He is more Devil than God.

He's 100% peaking on acid during this lol. The others thought so too
