goodbye Ray, and thank you for all the wonderfull music, maybe Jim got all the credit, but The Doors would have been nothing without your keyboard see you on the other side
No one else, at that time, had the balls to start a rock-concert THIS WAY!!! The absolutely opposit of "Love and Peace and Hippie-generation!" I LOVE IT!!!
lol i'm glad they got banned everywhere, lol, in a good way, all those pricks thought they were too good for the doors............i'm super thrilled they weren't invited to woodstock, they probably would've turned it turn anyways lol, glad jim said 'higher' on sullivan show, awesome, maybe it was equivalent of saying fuck you motherfucker on live tv today? lol I LOVE LIVE TV, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, LOL, not scripted, they can't edit it lol THAT'S REAL LIFE,!! This performance, Hollywood Bowl, Stockholm '68 and Isle of Wight performances of this song are the best in my opinion. The doors in the studio were a monster and the band live was an ancient creature busted out of its tomb to spread the word of wisdom and darkness .
When he says “he walked on down the hallway baby Ohhh!” That line is the epitome of Jim Morrison.. an explosion at the end of every thought the man ever had.
I enjoy the music of The Doors much more than that of Dylan or The Beatles. I almost never listen to those two, but I listen to The Doors almost daily. Jim could sing much better than any of The Beatles or Bob Dylan. They are very important acts though to be sure. Hendrix was influenced to a degree by Dylan.
Who remembers where they were the first time it was announced that Morrison had died? I was sixteen coming home from the beach in Chicago. The best voice ever in rock. The most unique band ever. I've been listening to the Doors since they first started playing. They never fail to blow my mind. Love them live.
I was at my sister's apartment outside Washington D.C. when I heard on a radio she had on that Jim had died in Paris the day before. I was very sad because I had always enjoyed The Doors music. Even though I was just a young kid I knew Morrison and the music of The Doors was something unique.
Not sure I understand your comment… He was by all means both… look up “an American prayer“, his collection of poetry/philosophy that’s, by anybody’s standards, first rate.
In the beginning he says "bring out your dead". The story goes that during the great plague in the middle ages the undertakers said this when they came along and gathered the corpses.
@@LearnerChess Yes, true. The plague was at first blamed on black cats. So they began killing them Of course, the rats that cats kill, were responsible for spreading it.
Robby is omitted from every guitarist list ever made. Such a shame because he could play jazz, blues, classical or straight up rock on his guitar. Name me others who could do this?!
Holy shit..one of the best performances, ive ever heard Morrison sing. Must be sober as a judge, what a difference!!!! ( Love that ,phrase.."come...follow me...cross the see..endlessly")

Hi from Argentina
This is why he tends to be a big inspiration for a lot of punk bands
Usually, this was the last song or in front of soul kitchen, which was the last.
These four guys were musical magic.
Nothing else is as haunting as a doors tune 🔥

There's many live versions of this song but this one, the way he sings "Come on babyyyyy" like There's a pain in soul. Always stuck with me.
In my opinion, one of the greatest minds in music history, up there with Dylan and Lennon for sure, Rest Easy, Jim, we still miss you brother. 🐍👑

if you think dylan and lennon are some the greatest minds in music history you are mentally challenged
@BlorbusUnimax So who do you consider great minds of music?
Who remembers where they were the first time it was announced that Morrison had died? I was sixteen coming home from the beach in Chicago. The best voice ever in rock. The most unique band ever. I wasn't born yet but my dad always played the doors when I was a kid. Love them. I can't get enough.❤💞❤💞
the pineal gland of all songs.
Fede: I probably have already died, but I forgot it so I think to be alive but this is a mistake!!!
@stefaniavirgili697 this song allows me to travel in my head. I let my subconscious be the pilot while I'm passenger. It's fun.
Fucking Morrison, with all the intelligence he had, he could have become a philosopher or a writer, but I’m glad he became a door ❤️
Not sure I understand your comment… He was by all means both… look up “an American prayer“, his collection of poetry/philosophy that’s, by anybody’s standards, first rate.
This is absolutely best song in worlds history and also best version of it! Period!
lollllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll
This is Live in New York Felt Forum, 17 January 1970.
FUC**NG AMAZING.
thank you, I was wondering what year this was.
The most mysterious and the scariest song ever made ! ! !
+morrisonien Not to mention one of the greatest
+morrisonien you put this on every video that even mentions this song
morrisonien it depends on how you look at The End sometimes the end of things are good but no doubt this song is very mysterious
morrisonien : Actually, I think that honor would go to "Frankie Teardrop" by Suicide. Honestly.
I have to agree with that statement
Absolutely incredible. Jim was a genius
Socrates was wiser than Morrison.
Wow, what a golden moment in time. And to think this only has under 3,000 views. Legends never die.
Those screams near the 14 minute mark... truly something.
Screams from the other side of the universe.
by far the best version of this song
the LA version was prettty good too
Hollywood Bowl i think
Detroit
Definitely Detroit is the best most purest version of them, at least the wildest.
Toronto 1967.
Music performance art at its finest!!
In the beginning he says "bring out your dead". The story goes that during the great plague in the middle ages the undertakers said this when they came along and gathered the corpses.
I can't hear that line without thinking of Monty Python
Jim got the idea of saying that from Eric Burden when he saw The Animals perform. I didn't know the part about the plague. Sounds like a true story.
"bring dein dad um"....
🔊 yeah we know,it's where the phrase DEAD RINGER COMES FROM.
@@LearnerChess Yes, true. The plague was at first blamed on black cats. So they began killing them Of course, the rats that cats kill, were responsible for spreading it.
