My one good fortune is being born in this time period, the best for an epoch change in music. In 1968 I was twelve, a bit too young to be alone in a concert of this magnitude. Yet there I was, innocently blowing up firecrackers to irritate the sound engineer.

Ok I really love this song it's my favourite and I love Jim too but I think the highlight is start at 1:05 the ray's keyboard is the flower of this song
Fun fact is that Ray Manzarek, the keyboard/organ player, played the bass sound with his left hand while doing the organ solos on his right hand. The Doors didn't have a separate bass player, however they recorded their music with a real bass. Bass was played by Manzarek during concerts only.
All my friends in the 90s were into the Doors when we were mid teens to early twenties. Today i was thinking back and thought, give it a go, have a listen to all their music and see what the hype was about... Now I'm hooked! Lol
“Light My Fire” was their first song and first song Robby Krieger ever wrote. The Doors' guitarist may have had the greatest beginner's luck in rock history
There first song wasn't light my fire, the first Doors song ever was moonlight drive, and they came up with many others before light my fire, it isn't even the first song on the album
Henry Baird was outlining that the drumming of this song isn't always given as much credit as it should, the organ, music and guitar isn't really considered underrated because it is always being praised, and rightfully so because the vocals are amazing, the organ is also really great and the live version for this guitar solo is better then the studio guitar solo in my opinion, and these are all commonly said. But I agree, the drumming in this live performance is actually really good, and is quite underrated.

My one good fortune is being born in this time period, the best for an epoch change in music. In 1968 I was twelve, a bit too young to be alone in a concert of this magnitude. Yet there I was, innocently blowing up firecrackers to irritate the sound engineer.
@@anacristinadenise758 Music does have a way of healing one's soul in trying times. I believe you, and I do think he would feel touched that his words helped someone when they needed it most. I have faith in you, you are strong and have a great taste in music. Stay safe, take care, and enjoy!

Rosanna S try a band called hexvessel ;)

It's a demo song from the the strokes before their album Is This It. It's very 'the doors' inspired. Plus Julian's vocals are like Jim here.
No 💯
Ok I really love this song it's my favourite and I love Jim too but I think the highlight is start at 1:05 the ray's keyboard is the flower of this song
The Doors is one of the coolest bands ever!
Ye
One of the best bands of the 60s

Fun fact is that Ray Manzarek, the keyboard/organ player, played the bass sound with his left hand while doing the organ solos on his right hand. The Doors didn't have a separate bass player, however they recorded their music with a real bass. Bass was played by Manzarek during concerts only.
The Doors are right up there with the very greatest bands.
All my friends in the 90s were into the Doors when we were mid teens to early twenties. Today i was thinking back and thought, give it a go, have a listen to all their music and see what the hype was about... Now I'm hooked! Lol
They are the ancestors of jazzy power metal
Jim Morrison, best poet ever.

Missing Jim Morrison.
Have a eternal rest in heaven.
I have never watched a 60s music video of such clarity & definition thank you vivo for making videos like this
This is actually ripped from the full concert. The Doors Live at the Bowl '68
Glad Gladiator you really think vevo existed in 1968
Vivo?
Vivo in spanish means Alive xD
impresionante!!
“Light My Fire” was their first song and first song Robby Krieger ever wrote. The Doors' guitarist may have had the greatest beginner's luck in rock history
I wouldn't call it Beginner's Luck though cause he wrote some of their best songs and his guitar work is extremely talented
I thought the first song was "Break on through"
There first song wasn't light my fire, the first Doors song ever was moonlight drive, and they came up with many others before light my fire, it isn't even the first song on the album
I think he might've meant first hit.
"Break on Through" followed by “Light My Fire”.................
Ripping on Light My Fire is absolutely hilarious. One of Patrick’s best bits. Great seeing him on astrogoblin now.
Eargasm!!
Good ear birth x
I just cannot believe the HUGE quality of this video!! OMG, i'm so impressed!!

Was just thinking the same thing.
So chill music, imagine listen to this when you are high Jesus. I almost get high by this music.
I cannot emphasize how much I enjoy the piano in this video. He went in a very different dimension at around 3:30. Just loved it
Amazing we have these videos still...Jim was like a god as was Ray's playing..>The qualuty is unreal
The best part of the song 0:00 - 9:22
The drumming is underrated in this song, really good
@@MrHenryBaird not only. What about guitar, organ, voice ?
Henry Baird was outlining that the drumming of this song isn't always given as much credit as it should, the organ, music and guitar isn't really considered underrated because it is always being praised, and rightfully so because the vocals are amazing, the organ is also really great and the live version for this guitar solo is better then the studio guitar solo in my opinion, and these are all commonly said. But I agree, the drumming in this live performance is actually really good, and is quite underrated.
I don't like the part after 9:23
There are things that you know and things that you don't know and in between there are the Doors..
Gorgeous musicians !
