    A lot of people "go" on a diet, then come "off" of a diet, usually because they can't maintain it. I have learnt over the years that we have to change lifestyle to eat in a healthy way. It is for life. Thank you for your help. ❤🇦🇺

      Thank you so much for posting this - it’s really too true. Most behaviors that are healthy should be sustainable and easily folded into our lifestyle. If they aren’t sustainable, what good do they do us?

    Hi Doctor Pleet. Ancel Keys finished his life in a village in Italy and died at 100. Would you have any information on what he was eating exactly and about his lifestyle?

      Hi there, this is an excellent question! Though I do not know his exact diet per se, I’d have to guess that he was following the Mediterranean Diet pattern of eating given that he was such a big proponent of it. Boy, if he were alive today, his would be an excellent social media account to follow!

    Greetings from the Philippines!
    Will you please outline a diabetic Mediterranean diet, breakfast, lunch and dinner? More power to you Doc Anna!

      Welcome!! So glad you’re here. As for your question, quite honestly, for diabetes I wouldn’t necessarily outline anything different than for someone without diabetes. That’s because the Mediterranean foods are already really healthy for diabetes - high in fiber, low in refined ingredients, lots of healthy protein and fats!

    My son is in Paris right now at culinary school and his girlfriend is from Italy. He’s been to Italy a bit in the last 6 months visiting her and I was shocked to hear that the French and Italians eat so late at night:). In my sons culinary class the students from all over the world were laughing and shocked to hear that Americans think eating after 7:00 pm is basically wrong lol. One women from Africa said “ aren’t you guys starving when you go to bed”?! My son laughed and said “ yeah, that’s why so many snack on chips and junk late at night”! I started never going to bed hungry and I sleep more soundly.

      Right!? It's amazing what we learn when we see how other cultures do things. This has been one of my favorite aspects or studying abroad. It gives a whole new perspective on how we do things at home. Thank you for sharing

    Do you track how much protein you get in a typical day

    • @annapleetmd
      @annapleetmd  5 дней назад

      Good question - sometimes I do! I like to know a general ballpark for my standard diet. If I am traveling I do not, since I don’t always eat my typical diet then

    Dr Peet, do you eat whole fat yogurt?

    • @annapleetmd
      @annapleetmd  Месяц назад

      Good question! Certainly, and at other times I eat low-fat or fat free. It depends on where I am with my goals. I find that diary fat is just about the easiest thing to cut out when attempting to reduce calorie intake for weight loss. For me, it’s as simple as switching my yogurt and cutting down on cheese
