- This is the Hyundai Tucson! It's a new SUV that has the likes of the Peugeot 3008 and Nissan Qashqai in its sights. What's more, it comes relatively cheap, with a starting price of only £22,000! However, there may be a number of exterior styling improvements compared to the previous model, but can the same be said for the interior and drivability? Join Mat for his latest in-depth review to find out!

You guys really should put litre per 100km version of the car consumption too because rest of the europe is watching your videos too
RemK96 UK site, UK review. We quite correctly have MPG! There are Irish and European review sites you can view.
mkkravist11 your no fun at parties ,,, relax man .. only a suggestion to improve the videos = pleasing bigger audience = better carwow. England really trying their hardest to do everything oppositely to the rest of the European countries
@@mkkravist11 "Correctly have MPG" yet all the fuel stations have litre counters instead of gallons, so you don't actually know how many gallons of fuel you are putting in your car, so its a very useless measurement because you can't calculate it unless you have an MPG meter in your car. Admit the fact that the imperial system is dying and its pointless when 90% of all other measurements use the metric system in the UK. Metric is better, makes more sense and is easier to calculate but the British being British are too stubborn and traditional to change.
@@henzopereira5308 Ye it's quite stupid really, though you say that and yet they use metric for lots of things but will just not let go of the stupid imperial system in some areas of life.

When I first sat in it (as of a Uber driver picked me), I was pisitively surprised how great it felt. I like what Hyundai does lately. Great job!
I love car news / reviews and I used to watch legitimately 10 different RUclips car programs to get my fix. Now I only watch CarWow. 👍🏻
CarWow is best in game.

Can we have a comparison again between the latest Hyundai Tuscan , Nissan quasqai and Kia Sportage all them being top of the range
I really like and appreciate the moment at 8:47 when you showcased the space between 2 isofix mounted child seats - for a family car that information is really, really important.
Thanks Matt&Carwow!
Seriously, I started watching Mat’s videos in 2012 when he worked for Carbuyer (and AutoExpress). I still remember the days you and Rebecca made video for CB and AE.
7 years later, he is ruling the car entertainment world, surpassing TopGearYT’s Organic Views in the past 30 days; Carwow has garnered over 40M views in the last 30 days!
Love you Mat and your hard work ❤️❤️❤️
Same here😂 crushed hard on her back then
I have a Limited 1.6T trim that I bought in the US in 2016 and still love it. Though I don’t see that many improvements really in this 2019 version compared to mine, it’s still nice to see Huyndai kept making small tweaks where it could.
Krell do super high end audio. I listened to one of their amps in a £60k cd / amp / speaker set up once in a hifi store. It was amazeballs.
Its weird that carwow gained so much popularity in such a short span of time and decline of viewership on carbuyer channel suggest that Matt is an important reason for that
Dhruv Mahajan ‘suggest’? He’s the SOLE reason for this.
He is but also the format is great/focussed and camera work is great.
Also no annoying music mimicking car commercials
@@user-ve9tu5rv6e In a way yes haha i agree but i mean carbuyer still had other hosts presenting and people watched their videos too but now even those hosts dont get as much views 🤔
@@bingobongo1615 Exactly!! Plus i think Matt has a say in it,as he is the only one presenting he can alter things accordingly.
Carbuyer fucked up by firing Matt. That's what those idiots deserve.
First time ever considering an suv and then boom carwow comes through wif a video....... Love this channel dudes!
Want some advice? Ford Focus Active estate. There is absolutely no reason to buy a feeble, wet crossover like this Hyundai. Get a better car in every way. Either go Mazda CX-5 if you MUST have a car like this, but really... Just don't. Like Matt said, just go right ahead and buy the new Ford Focus. It even has more cargo volume than the Tucson. Considerably more.
The center cupholders are designed for the auto cars, where most buyers will end up with.
I actually think the old-fashioned bulb on the vanity mirror may be intentional. The softer 'yellow' light is more flattering than the stark white light of an LED. Just a thought though.
Drove the automatic/petrol premium version recently and I’ve got to say, it’s a decent car. You get a lot of car for your money. 😌👍
4:38 Now you see me, and now you still see me, because they're hardly even 30% tinted😂
2mil subs otw yooo.. congrat matt on how far u hve gone. really enjoy all ur vids. u really made a great decision on setting up ur own utube channel.
Enjoyed the revised format on this vid. Spent more time covering everything, and driving it round town, housing estates on poor road surfaces. Keeps thing more relevant. Hope for more of the same with future family cars👍🏻
This car was such a pleasant surprise for me. It feels great to drive and to be driven in. I somehow feel like the Korean cars are getting so much better to live with than Japanese cars.

This Tucson have a beautiful european Design!! Very nice car!
CONGRATS for the 2 millions subscribers MAT...👍👍👍👍
The hooks that you first pointed out closer to the trunk (boot) are used for the cargo net that is a dealer option for the Tucson. Great video 👍
I'm liking the fact you now try town parking and maneuverability, it's the things buyer's need to know.
Thanks for checking the golf bag with clubs.
You are the first I have seen do this. Thanks 🙏
Congratulations on 2 mil subscribers!
Hey Mat love your vids !!!
Your reviews are all good but this is the best one you have done in my opinion 👍
I have a 2017 2.0 crdi 177hp model and i can tell you that it’s amazing. Not the best interior but the power of the engine and the handling makes up for it
3:48 how many cars have bezel-less rear view mirror? how many cars have soft plastic on rear view mirror? NONE or close to none - especially in the same class.
So complaining about it doesn't make much sense to me.
I think it does make sense, if more reviewers complain about it more manufacturers are going to do it. Simple as that.
i agree, also its not as if you touch it very often
It's not that it's not bezel-less though that would be nice. It has exceptionally large bezels and the plastic is very very cheap compared to the interior and cheapens the look. I LOVE my Kia but this is one of the few things I wish they would improve.

Matt serious question, who charges their phone using the 12V socket in the boot? 😂
qaiyumboi Not for charging phones... can by used for vacuum cleaner when cleaning boot or for running a fridge in boot.
Kidnapped people?
People in back seat
@ @@user2144serious question, did you actually watch the video?
richard stocks Are you asking me, or the bozo who asked the original question about charging phone in the boot?
Good thing about the center screen design like that is that no matter where the sunlight is, u can still see it, a lot cars have that problem, u just can't see the screen if the sun is in the wrong position
Just watched the previous Tucson video and this is uploaded about 10 mins later... Carwow you stalking me or what?

Matt Watson makes video of Gloss Tucson.. 😂😂😂
I have a 2017 Hyundai Tucson. I went with the Tucson because I wanted AWD. It has been one of the biggest mistakes. The first was getting a Hyundai. They don’t care about their consumers. My car has been blowing headlights- having electrical issues (my auto windows go back down when you roll them up, my rear windshield wipers go off whenever they want, my break light seems to go on and off at random. I have reached out because as a company they should only want the best products out there. I was told that “because my car is over 3 years old. There is nothing they can do for me. To bring it to a dealer and “see what I can get” for it. I owe more than it’s worth because one thing they don’t tell you when you buy a Hyundai is they depreciate way faster than you can make payments to survive. DO NOT BUY A HYUNDAI.

Leave mat alone bully
Based partly on this video I bought one, the SE Nav 1.6 diesel which is now in mild hybrid. It has plenty of power, I average around 50 mpg and it is very comfy (I really thought after this positive video he was going to say "shortlist" but he didn't!). I would add a downside- whilst the SE Nav trim now comes with more toys than when this video was made, it still doesn't have a start button and so you can't just keep your keys in your pocket. I would also add that the mild hybrid takes up room under the boot and so I can't lower the floor like in this video and there is no spare wheel. But those gripes aside, after the first 500 miles, the car still feels very quiet, capable and people also say how nice it looks.
Will we see the day when Mat starts his own version of 'DougScore'?
Yes,I hope that.
No, matt style is information so you yourself make a valuation. Doug has almost gathered a brand around his name, in a way which he decides what is best, what is not. I like matt more, he covers everyday driving and does not waste time
Eww...No
Both have their own style, if you can call being a loud, redundant idiot a style, seems to appeal to his viewers though
Ugh. God, no! There's a reason I watch Matt and not that twat.
Great review Matt...like always
Hey Mat, great video as always! Don't mean to add to the workload but do you think it would be possible to add some headlights tests or night driving to the video or at least say if they're good or not? It makes such a huge difference for me when buying a car and I'd love to know how you'd rate the headlights on cars :)
ikr dats so important...especially the inside light aesthetics

Hei Matt what you may choose between Tucson , Sportage , Qashqai , Karoq , Kadjar , Ateca ? at almost the same price . And please why ?
Like he reads this! 🤣🙄
Wow. I am surprised with your verdict. The review is quite positive with a lot of achievements by the car. Interesting why it is just consider, not even shortlist, I thought it would be somewhat near go and buy.
Dear dude mat Watson is a BMW fanboy (or European car brand fanboy) because , he don't like South Korean manufactures car.. Especially Hyundai.. But if this car was BMW, (with same features) he definitely say to buy it🤣🤣🤣. Whenever South Korean cars are reviewed by Matt Watson , His stock verdicts are "Avoid,. Consider or short list..😃😃😃
Maybe it's because the Tucson lacks desirability and can't keep up with the Europeans when it comes to some aspects. In terms of clever practically features a Skoda Karoq is far superior and when it comes to design a Peugeot 3008 eats it for breakfast.
Matt is simply showing his personal opinion, the fact that you don't agree with him doesn't mean that he is a bad journalist.
In my personal opinion lack of desirability is actually a pretty big problem for Hyundai's entire range.
Fun fact though, is that Hyundais are both designed and built in europe now. Someone should let Mat know, he might start recommending them. Not everyone can afford the new bmws.
He's a very entertaining reviewer but he never gives good reviews to Korean or Japanese cars. It's a fact. They can be the best cars out there but they will barely get to a shortlist. And it's annoying how many times he plugs in a Skoda car in his reviews. Every review he will mention a Karoq or a Karmiq. Who even buys those cars?! This is a gem of a car and should either have been Shortlist or outright Buy.

10:00 - those hooks are for the luggage compartment storage net.
wish they had a hybrid version in the US, even the 2.4L seems rather anemic in the power dept.

Very cool review, I love the car nice job Mr Mat , keep going
Great review, now i want my tucson , I read there is foot detector to open then booth, and there is no automatic parking as the santa fe . but its great vehicle ! Thanks for sharing
Krell is a traditional American HiFi brand. They're very well known for large power amplifiers.
This new format of videos is too fast...
I understand why it is so, but I liked it more with previous format where we have links to more detailed videos, so you don't put so much information into 18-19 minutes...
I also like that regular links to the car's competitors in class...
Anyway...Thankful for your videos!
Looking forward to seeing the review on the all new Hyundai Tucson

Hey Mat, great review as always. I see you have posted a written review of the Grandland X, any chance for a video review? I can't decide whether to pick it or the Qashqai (small petrol engines), any help?
when do you a review of the tucson hybrid ?
Does this car have autonomous driving capability (similar to XC60) ? how well does it operate. I thought lane keep assist only steers the car back in lane when it drifts out.
Carwow, let's please have a comparison review of this SUV category.. with Tucson, Rav4, CRV, CX5, Sportage, Forester, Tiguan and etc.
I love Hyundai cars as a solid, affordable daily driver. My i20 is 5 years old, done 40k kms and I have spent nothing outside of regular maintenance. Will buy again.
Hello Mat, first of all, I love all ypur videos, I watched pretty much all of them. I just bought Hyundai Tuscon 2020 but with NA 1.6 gdi... You said on video that is one to avoid but I got super sweet deal on it... Could you please tell me why is that engine to avoid? Is there some terrible technical issues with it or just that it doesn't have enough power... Thanks in advance

Make a comparison between the Toyota RAV4 - Mazda CX-5 - Hyundai Tucson - Volkswagen Tiguan
Also Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
Why, are you suffering from insomnia?
CRV, Forester as well
@@clk9787 In your case it is better for the Audi Q3 - BMW X1 - Volvo CX40 - Lexus UX. The slightly more expensive brands but certainly not more reliable than the cars I want to see. But of course everyone has their preference... Respect for everyone's choice ;)
@@P.daniele Thank-you.
Also I forgot Infiniti Q30 and QX50 :-)
UX is good choice but I select NX if I chose from Lexus in this segment.
This is a sick looking car
Nothing stand a chance against 3008 in this class at the moment, still Tucson is good option, plus its great value for money. Model before the top one with 177hp petrol engine is around 24k and model below (model that Matt said is best buy) its 21.5k. Seriously, some (well) equiped hatchbacks in C segment cost the same. Great deal.
I usually agree with Mat's verdict on most cars but having driven a Peugeot 3008 GT Line Premium and Tucson Premium SE extensively there is no way a 3008 is a 'Buy' and this is just a 'Consider'. Firstly to get similar trim levels at the top of the range you are paying ~£3500 more for the 3008 at RRP.
I can't fault the Tucson much at all but there are things I just hate about the 3008, namely the steering wheel (it's simply uncomfortable to hold and use in my opinion), climate controls in infotainment are annoying, the 360 camera is a fake (no actual cameras on side mirrors) and it turns off all the time when you need it most while parking, then you need to reopen it in the infotainment vs an easy to access hard button in the Tucson. The lane keep assist in the Tucson is amazing while in the 3008 it only works if you are departing the lane, and even then it can't see the lanes a lot of the time. The cruise control controls are also in a terrible position in the 3008 (you need to memorize the buttons because you simply can't see them while driving). You also cannot put a postcode into the 3008's navigation.
I could go on but I in summary I would definitely 'Buy' a Tucson while I would only 'Consider' a 3008.
Completely agree!
Plus a 3008 can only tow up to 1700kg the tucson is rated at 2200kg.
Can’t believe I’ve been watching this guy for almost a decade
Great reviews mat
