The reason the rear middle seat belt is crossing the side passengers seat is because you have mixed up the buckles, the end one plugs in on your right (L.H. S. in video) and the other buckle is pulled across your lap to the left hand side.
The end one can be left permanently plugged in, this then stops passengers not familiar with the belt mixing it up like you have done.
My Wife's grand scenic has the same system, although the magnet holding the belt in the roof when fully retracted is more central.

Its an affordable compact utility...and does have some small things that need to be resolved...ie. the seat belt in back roof...but the plastics hard or soft and button bonanza...but its the best looking and most reliable and long term quality vehicle. KIA does respond quickly to small issues. But for the price and quality it is awesome.

I have just traded in my 2016 Peugeot 3008 Alure for a Kia Sportage 2 . Both WERE 1.6 Automatic diesels.
The acceleration from a stop is much better on the Kia , one alway had to take care pulling away from a junction in the 3008. The fuel consumption is much better in the Kia. The door pockets were much bigger in the 3008and I would say they are por in the Kia , hardly big enough for sunglasses and a packet of tissues. Generally, the 3008had more useful storage space . I really miss the heads up displa of the 3008 , I believe Peugeot have dropped in on the 2020 models anyway.
I disagree strongly with the comment about the Kia's steering compared to the 3008 . It was immediately noticeable the !ia is much , much lighter to steer and the pick up speed was much better.
My wife found the seats much more comfortable in the Kia. I don't like the speed and cruise control adjusters on the Kia while it seems better on the steering wheel rather than a stalk in practice Ifound then difficult, temperamental to use and locate while driving ...the Peugeot was a much better position and far more positive.
I found the Kia much easier to drive but , unexplainable, not so good on visibility. It as a spare wheel instead of a repair pump thingy but that does not seem to reduce the load space. There are a few better driving / driver aids in the Kia such as better climate control ,hill start and down hill retardation, heated seats .......I am not sure about Stop Start I don't think it has worked yet . Having said that the 3008 and my previous Qashai rarely worked after 12 months .
The spec on the Kia says it has no front parking sensors ...which seems ludicrous... the rear view camera assist is better than the 3008 .
So, overall the Kia is better, but I do miss some of the features the 3008 had or were better .

These are great cars. I had a base model N/A FWD & it was fine. Had all the kit I needed, enough power for the application, was supremely comfortable in my opinion & the best warranty in the business. I'm a car enthusiast like many journos (drive a RWD sports car now) but sometimes I think Journo's mis-manage their expectations from a general consumer point of view. The steering in the Sportage is FINE, the average person will be more than happy with the steering.

      @HoofHearted2DAY 5 лет назад +1

@@brankovukovic3658 I had the naturally aspirated 2.0 petrol. It's anemic if you have a leadfoot but it was fine otherwise - had enough punch when you needed it & surged way more torque than my current GT86, which is woeful at pickup. I did find the petrol Kia thirsty around the city (with my leadfoot driving) so a diesel would definitely solve that, but on the freeway it was fine & dropped consumption significantly with cruise control. It is a bloated SUV after all.

Hyundai/Kia do make plenty of great fun to drive cars. All throughout their range from the I10/Picanto to the I40/Optima. Haven driven many of them their are a number that I would love to drive. I do find the Kia's to be slightly better finish and trim when compared with their Hyundai counterparts. I don't know if anyone has noticed this too. I've reviewed the Ioniq on my channel too.

I'm not big on driving and having three kids, we're planning our first European road trip within the next 14 months, and I'm looking for something reliable, spacious cheap to run plus most importantly getting us from the UK through into France into Spain and then Portugal, and back again!? Lol
Currently we have a Honda civic 8th gen personally I love it but just not ideal for us and the car is hitting 200k miles now. Budget isn't big,
So far I've been looking at this kia sportage as a friend of mine has one and she's been to Italy and back in hers along with her two kids.
And I was recommended hyundai Tuscon 1.7TD 2015...?

I liked your review, but I wish you wouldn't metion other car brands to suggest a better version becasue it gets confusing, we are fully inmersed in the sportage while learng about Sportgage we generally don't want hear about other videos. Good review overall. Thank you! _ I'm still left wondering about road handling and speed (how long does it take to reach 60 MPH?_ How does the transission feel?, did it skip at all? these are all questions I still have about this vehicle and will have to watch other videso to find out. _ What about your final recommedatio? do you like it better than the Tucson? _ again, these are all questions that still remain.

Ah Mat, Good review fella. . . . But you say in the video that the one to go for is the Edition 25. . . But then you say the 1.6 naturally aspirated petrol engine is gutless and you should probably avoid it. . . . Sadly the Edition 25 is only available in FWD and only with said naturally aspirated 1.6 petrol gutless engine!!
    So which is it then?

@A real bisexual petrol-head I critisize people's choice here but mostly kept it to myself and some online forums, my male partner does the same. But I live in US where 90% of people drive giant lifted pickups and gargantuan suvs just to commute to work from their suburban home and back and never use them for intended purpose or ever really need them.
