I have an old L355. As luck would have it, it has the same jumper in the same place. It is even labeled B500 just like yours. Now the only thing I did that was different was that it did not work unless I left the ram chip inside, while shorting the jumper and powering on. In this way it worked for me. You are my savior man! Thank you for a most excellent and to the point video. You saved me a very expensive repair shop bill !! Thank you Thank you !!!

Worked great!! The only item/point that needs to be reiterated is "REMOVE THE JUMPER WHEN THE TOSHIBA LOGO DISAPPEARS".
    Thanks Again!!

I tried this several times with a flat head screwdriver and paper clip. Fresh cut cat 5 did the trick so your jumper needs to be super clean or for the soldering types you might even try cleaning the contacts with flux if they are badly corroded. Thanks for posting this video!

for a A215-4697..the jumper IS J4. You just need a small screwdriver, HD out, BOTH sticks of ram out, hold it on the jumper for like 15 secs. Put the RAM back in...turn it on.
You're done. Nicely done video I might add.

Thank you so much!!! I used this on a L355 series. Confirmed: Working!
the points are under the black protective covering in the memory bay, two soldier points separated by a line, I believe they were marked "XXX". I tried this before and didn't work. You must follow his instructions; leave ram in, power on the laptop from the A/C charger with the points shorted. once you see the network boot agent, remove the shunt (wire), power down and reassemble the laptop.

    @1plou
    Step 1:
cut a piece of cat5 cable
    step 2:
take out the battery and hard drive from the computer
    step 3:
remove the memory and locate the jumper ( FOLLOW THE VIDEO)
    Step 4:
put one stick of memory in and place the laptop on the side ( Connect the power cord)
    Step 5:
You must have the jjumper hit both a ground location and the B500 or XXX jumper. ( Some people use another person to turn on and off the laptop.
    Step 6:
turn on the laptop while holding the jumper in place.

works for the L350-21Q, the pads to short are marked b500 above and XXX below the pads. thanks. It's taken all day trolling the web to find this. the important part is starting up with pads shorted, and with some ram installed.

This works great, but be sure to follow instuctions on the type of wire exactly. I tried several different wires (believe it or not) and paper clips but cat5 did the trick. Also a slight rub of the jumpers with a light abrasive material was needed, there might have been slight oxidation on my laptop jumpers. Thanks

For this model it's better if you have another person turn on the laptop for you while you short out the pin. You have to power on the laptop until you don't see the password prompt. Sometimes it will take you 3 to 5 attempts before you can reset it.
    Hope that helps.

If the laptop has a HDD ( Hard Drive User/Master Password) set you have two option
1.) Buy a third party tool to see if that will remove it.
2.) Change the hard drive with a new bigger and better drive. This option is better since hard drives are so cheap now.
    Hope that helps you

@pequepie It could be very similar to my A215-S4697 ... under the SODIMM memory chips, there is a piece of plastic as @indemmand tells you in his video. Carefully lift that and see if there is a J4 roughly in the middle. I used the spacer as ground.
