Thanks very much for your direction. It simplified a very common but irritating procedure. My need to reset the BIOS/CMOS settings in this Satellite L455D arose from an issue with cooling fan and heatsink. After cleaning the heatsink and replacing the fan, the computer would boot but there would be no display and the fan would turn off. Fearing that the board and/or processor maybe defective, I opted to take the path of least resistance to get some direction since this particular board was about $300+ to replace. Fortunately, the procedure you described so accurately, allowed me to diagnose the exact cause of the problem after repair, and facilitated an accurate fix for the machine which is now running like new. Kudos!!!!
took a try or two but worked like a charm. toshiba said $425 to fix because it sounded like a dead motherboard. you are the man!!! thanks for the video
Thanks for the video--it worked. I stared at it about 10 minutes longer than I should have though because I was literally looking for a white "T" and "U" on my board whereas I just have the "JOPEN" ... Explaining that the "T" and "U" are the shapes of the actual metallic circuit in the description and not a label might be helpful. Also I'm not sure everyone understands that the metal clips holding the memory are what you used to short it since you can't see that in the video. But thanks again!
It worked for me on my L675D-S7106, first time! I found the horseshoe, u shape circuit thing labeled J1 and used memory holder for ground and shorted the u part. Thanks so very much for your and everybodies help.
Thank you soooo much! I've just recovered my laptop! Had to try like 6 or 7 times, because didn't found a good ground point, but now it's perfectly fine. You're a genius, man!
Dude! you are my freaking hero. I can't believe that is all it took. I took the whole laptop apart 2 times to disconnect the cmos battery and that didn't work, and i have been trying to figure out how to fix it for 2 days now, thanks so much. That was pretty damn cool.. and easy
Thank you so much for the video. Was able to bypass the bios password on Toshiba A135-S2376, had problem locating ground at first but second video helped to solve it. Again thank you so much
I want to be thankful for the explanation. I am of the other side of the world and with its aid I could decide the problem of much people of Brazil, one more time thanks a lot for the video. abraços, bless you to God.
I want to thank you very much. We took our laptop to a local repair shop.. they had it from Saturday, until today and they said they couldn't fix it and we were going to have to call Toshiba. Called... they said $175... I decided to look on youtube (since youtube can do anything LOL)... well, it worked. I called the computer place and told them... they were shocked.... Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!! Merry Christmas!!!!
YOU'RE A MASTER MAN... MORE THAN 2 YEARS TECHNICIANS ASKING FOR A FORTUNE TO FIX IT, AND THANKS GOD FIRST AND YOU..... I GOT MY LAP TOP BACK AGAIN!!... GOD MAY BLESS YOU!, I'LL UPLOAD THIS RESET PSWRD REMOVAL IN SPANISH LATER!
OH My G‐D THANK YOU SO SO SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!! My antique toshiba gad this error today, and i thought i was going to lose everything! You fixed my world!! You are the greatest!
@moviewatcher7249 Check voltage on your power adapter first and see if that 's the problem. If not you might have damaged the board. FYI.. I don't think you damaged the motherboard If you shorted out the correct jumper you would not have any damage to your motherboard.
Hello my cousin is having the same problem with her Toshiba Satellite M305-S4907 would everything be different than what you showed on the video inside of this model? I haven't tried it yet..I also saw another video where the guy jumped it by putting both ends of the wire on both tips of the soldered bumps...would it work still?
@diciembregris You need to short out the jumper for 45 to 60 seconds. After you do that only put one memory stick back on and turn the laptop on. ***PS, Thanks for subscribing to my channel.*** ** Note: we will only help subscribers from now on. ***
@vicky1718 No. This process will not work on a hard drive that has a user or master password set. If you forgot the password the best option for you is to buy another hard drive.
@PINKFLOYD57 It sounds like you have a hard drive password as well. You need to find a utility that will remove it or change the hard drive with a new one. Hope that helps.
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it worked 1st attempt I must have missed the ground so I used the metal that hold the memory chip I touched the U ...Incredible it worked.. Thank you a Million Billion Times. The T and U were tricky but I Got it!!!!!!!!1 I pat myself on the Back too..LOL
@moviewatcher7249 Sorry to hear that but it sounds like a motherboard issue. Maybe one of your memory sticks is bad try turning your laptop on with only one,. Hope that helps. Regards
I have this same laptop, same problem. Followed all your directions step-by-step, and only the power lit up and the screen stayed black. I took it apart again and assembled it again and now it's asking for the password... back to square one. Where did I go wrong?
@vassilischr This process will only work on the A135 model. You can try and do a search online to see anyone has removed the bios password on the L450.
I did this to a customers Toshiba and it worked...BUT as soon as I went to press F2 the password came right back on. I repeated the steps over 5 times and it does the same thing. Do I need to keep the jumper on the "U" longer than 20 seconds?
@indira23827 You can try a paper clip as well and if that doesn't work send us your laptop for repair. Yes, we have a store front in the city of Altadena, CA and you can send us the Laptop for repair. You can call us for a price .
i was wondering if you can help me out im having the same problem only that i have a satellite c655-s5212 and i was wondering if you can help me find the jumpers? i tried removing the CMOS battery but it didnt work..
Update got it fixed "The M305" followed everything you did...only problem was I was stuck on the HDD password that came afterwards which my cousin showed and gave me after breaking my head on trying to figure it out...any way once that was done, I reset it to factory defaults and re-installed Windows Vista on her Notebook...so thank you.....
Your instructions are almost right,actually you do need to remove battery and memory and touch across the T and the U for 45 seconds anyone that this worked for thought they were only touching the U but actually touched across both otherwise it will not work and don't touch ground only across T and U......
i tried this, at first it went to the screen where it days Toshiba and at the bottom it says press F2 or F12 ( I tried the process all over again) Would not do anything no matter what I pressed, now when I started again, the screen is completely black, nothing on there. You can hear the laptop running and it's on but complete black screen. Please help me
@R2TheMagicman The jumper is located near the memory slots. Remove the memory cover and memory and take a picture. Send me the picture of that area and I will reply back with the location of the jumper. Regards,
Ok good job the trick worked but Im installing windows 7 ultimate and i cant find any drivers,. even the driver to upload the OS is gone, I have all versions, xp, vista and 7 andf none of them will load? Says No driver support so if you can help please help
You need to do an online search for hard drive password removal. You might get lucky and find a program that will remove it. If you dont find one your only option is to replace the hard drive.
Hi, this worked and the enter password message is gone but now screen is just black black, some others had the same problem and got it fixed please help asap

You ARe The "Man" thankyou sooo much.

@Christopher8267
No. It only resets your BIOS chip back to factory default.
Will this work with a Toshiba Satellite Pro M15-S405? I'm trying to find the jumper you mentioned.
What can we use beside the cable for the jumper???? Do u open a store?? If u are how much will it cost to fix this??
Just a little more help, one end of the jumper cable goes to the U, what should the other end it it touch to for this to work?
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it worked 1st attempt I must have missed the ground so I used the metal that hold the memory chip I touched the U ...Incredible it worked.. Thank you a Million Billion Times. The T and U were tricky but I Got it!!!!!!!!1 I pat myself on the Back too..LOL

used a different ground but def worked, thanks
@EpicGuitarSolo4Ever
Yes. If it has the jumper located near the memory slots.
@vassilischr
This process will only work on the A135 model. You can try and do a search online to see anyone has removed the bios password on the L450.
@1techsavy
The L305 video process will work for the A215 model.
I did this to a customers Toshiba and it worked...BUT as soon as I went to press F2 the password came right back on. I repeated the steps over 5 times and it does the same thing. Do I need to keep the jumper on the "U" longer than 20 seconds?
This didn't work for me I tried it about 5 times.
re seat your memory or remove one memory stick and try turning the laptop on.
Hope that helps.
Re-seat your memory if that doesnt work . Take one of the memory stick out and turn the computer on again.
Hope that helps
The ground is on the sides of the memory slots. It's solder to the motherboard.
i have the same problem with a satellite c655-sp4168m.
do u solved your problem?
@indira23827
You can try a paper clip as well and if that doesn't work send us your laptop for repair. Yes, we have a store front in the city of Altadena, CA and you can send us the Laptop for repair. You can call us for a price .
@BIlljo76
If you see the jumper near the memory slots then this process should work for you as well.
i was wondering if you can help me out im having the same problem only that i have a satellite c655-s5212 and i was wondering if you can help me find the jumpers? i tried removing the CMOS battery but it didnt work..
@indemmand thanks, I still havent been able to remove the password though. It's a toshiba satellite U205 model
thanx bro its work
Update got it fixed "The M305" followed everything you did...only problem was I was stuck on the HDD password that came afterwards which my cousin showed and gave me after breaking my head on trying to figure it out...any way once that was done, I reset it to factory defaults and re-installed Windows Vista on her Notebook...so thank you.....
Thank you sooooooooooooooo much!!!!!
hi, i didnt understand your procedure properly, i have a satellite A135-s4527. I've removed the ram and looks diiferent to your explaination..
@DragonMan242424
Nothing will happen if you touch the "T". The password will remain on the laptop until you jumper what looks like a "U"
Your instructions are almost right,actually you do need to remove battery and memory and touch across the T and the U for 45 seconds anyone that this worked for thought they were only touching the U but actually touched across both otherwise it will not work and don't touch ground only across T and U......
Hi, do u have some video for removing a pwd from Toshiba C650 -179? I shall be very grateful. Thanks.
@adriansuran
If the bios password appears again. You need to remove the password and install the latest bios update as well.
i tried this, at first it went to the screen where it days Toshiba
and at the bottom it says press F2 or F12 ( I tried the process all over again)
Would not do anything no matter what I pressed, now when I started again, the screen is completely black, nothing on there. You can hear the laptop running and it's on but complete black screen. Please help me
1 question does this tactic work on a Toshiba Satellite A105
@R2TheMagicman
The jumper is located near the memory slots.
@xFriedEggx
If you see what looks like a U and a T where the memory is located then yes it should work.
Does it work for the A210 Toshiba Laptop as Well?
I dont understand your question. But this process should work for your model
@diciembregris Im having the same problem, what should I do..?
Yes. This process will work on the A105.
@moviewatcher7249
It sounds that way. I would replace the bad memory since its so cheap now.
Do you know how to remove password on a Toshiba A60?
Thank you
You need to do an online search for hard drive password removal. You might get lucky and find a program that will remove it. If you dont find one your only option is to replace the hard drive.
why is it the wifi dont work once you reinstall windows7
how can i fix that problem with my toshiba satelite t135-s1305
Thanx a lot dear.....
Hi, this worked and the enter password message is gone but now screen is just black black, some others had the same problem and got it fixed please help asap
FYI...
On some Laptops you need to count up to 45 seconds in order for the password to reset
