Good fix! I've been working in IT for 7 years now and this is a pretty common occurrence in Toshiba laptops. This also works for the C855D-S5320 models as well. Just had a whole batch we had to do this fix on. A word of advice, like it's stated in the video is just keep trying. The CMOS is finicky and sometimes you just have to just keep at it. We had one that took 12 tries before it cleared.

Thank you sooooooo much!!! It's hard enough to deal with the loss of a family member, without the added frustration of trying to find any sort of helpful info on a locked computer. You've been a great help to me, and subsequently my family. Thank you!

Worked just fine. My model was C655D-S5518. It was pretty close to the location you mentioned, but it was located under a couple of stickers that had the hardware MAC address and Product Numbers for the laptop. It had the same labeling: B500.
    Thanks.

    Thank you, very very much.
I had a problem with a password that no one ever put in my laptop, it just suddenly appear by itself, they said it was a known problem, but nobody told me how to fix it. And the price I would have had to pay to get this fixed with official service, could pretty much buy me another laptop. So you saved me, and as Karma returns, you will get something good back, you'll see.
    Thanks once more.

The reason many people can't get this to work is that there's a clear sealer over the motherboard. Make sure you do a little scraping or whatever to get contact on B500. *Edit; Do not scrape your motherboard! Just the little B500 solder pins and just enough to make good contact.

B500 pins shorting in other C655 laptop also worked, but I got an error when using only the top memory slot, I had to move the RAM to the bottom slot and also drain any power by remove laptop battery and holding powering button for 10 seconds (with laptop charger unplugged). It took a few tries, but the last time the laptop shut itself off, which was a little scary, I thought I fried the MOBO, but it rebooted and the password was gone. Thanks IMOS Systems.

If thats the case then i guess mine has no password..coz when i remove the hdd it displays "no bootable disk found, please insert a disk and press any key"!! But when i insert the hdd it shows me "Enter Hdd/Sdd password"

Hi. Thanks for the video and information. I’m not totally certain whether my issue is exactly the same so would like to check with you. I don’t want to change or remove the password.
I have a Toshiba Satellite L50-A laptop, and when I power up, it goes past the Toshiba screen to the “enter password” screen (which I now understand is the BIOS password), however when I type in the correct password and then try to enter it, the screen stays stuck at this screen. Nothing I do will allow this password screen to change.
I cannot even hit F2 to enter the BIOS screen.
I keep finding various tutorials about Toshiba issues, but so far haven’t found any that I think specifically address this issue.
Would you have any advice on this problem for me, and why the screen stays stuck here even when I enter the correct password?
Also, if the BIOS battery (the CR2032j needs replacing, could this be the cause of my computer not letting me get past this screen?
Thank you for your time, it is much appreciated.
    Glenn.

I have a old mans satellite L355 and did the jumper B500 and it worked like a charm after about 3 tries, and cleared the bios password and user password. Now I can get in the bios but when I leave it asks me for the HDD password I found no way in the bios to disable this as it asks for it in the bios to before I can go into that section. I reset the bios to default but that didn't help.Any advice on how to remove the HDD password. Or if its written somewhere on hard drive. This guy is almost 90 and his grandson was using it about a year ago and may have set this up. Or Pops might have done it and has no memory of it. thanks if you get this and have any advice would be appreciated/ Leslie

I'm working on a L505-S5966. Pulled out HDD, ram sticks, and I peeled the tape back and found b500 and used a screw driver. Black screen, began to start internally but shut down and restarted, still with nothing on screen. Put a stick of memory in, repeat process, another stick of memory, repeat, and then the HDD. It starts up black screen and resets again with nothing on screen. Took all of it out again to start over. This time while holding the screw driver to b500, Toshiba logo screen came back up and then went right back to bios password. Man what a headache.

Darn, the 30 warranty expired and the bios thing took over. Strait from the factory to mY home, like a timed bios bomb.
I would not pay and the unit was returned. Looking at forums, I'm not alone. Thanks for this, I'm goin in again X as many times as my weary MS fanny can
Can do. Armed with the super tools (twist tie and my digits) I'm off to try again, thanks. Even the factory reset results in repetitive beeping, no resetting. Sigh.
