I was about to jump into the comments and defend Rio because she definitely wasn't a absent mother...but I'm glad so many people are already doing it for me😂
It doesn’t matter if he already lost his uncle, it doesn’t stop there. The main version of Peter lost his parents, uncle, Gwen Stacy, Gwen’s dad, his friend Harry Osborn, even his own daughter.
I saw some comments elsewhere say that why the Spider-People aren't coordinated enough to catch Miles is because Spider-Man is usually a solo player in his universe. Sure, they can follow orders and form their own organisation and what not, but in the heat of the moment, when it comes to a quick-time event like chasing Miles, they won't really be in sync. Sometimes it seems that they all use the same brain cell, like when they tried to chase Miles across a tightrope web on foot all at once instead of thwiping across.
I think they couldn't catch him because he's also an anomly (quite literally). All the other spidermen/women were destined to be who they are by the universe so it kind of makes sense they all would share a similar kind of thinking. Miles was not destined to be spiderman and got bit by accident. So the way I see it, he's completely out of sync out of every single spiderman/woman in existence. Which is why they couldn't catch him. They simply can't think like him.
The perfect sequel to a near flawless movie. The animation, characters, and action are even more incredible this time around. I especially love how well Miguel as an antagonist represents the fundamental flaw of the Spider Society’s doctrine: that Spider-People are defined by their trauma and that their trauma is essential.
Wait, what? How did you think Rio died in the last movie? 😂 1610 Peter died, Uncle Aaron died, Green Goblin died, Olivia Octavius maybe died. Rio? Nope. the hospital she was working in was being affected by the collider shakes, but nothing was shown happening to her You can see Earth 42 Miles in Spot’s backstory! Seems he might’ve been spider man if the spider wasn’t taken away 16:34 All of Us Lents is an interesitng name 😂 Miguel has talons and fangs that inject paralyzing venom because his dna is altered into being 50% spider rather than being bitten by a spider (probably what that injection was for). It also means he doesn’t have a spider sense, but his original senses have been enhanced Oh no, forgetting Rio is criminal. It wasn’t Miles’ choice to get the powers. It is his choice to be Spider Man 30:36 “I swear I saw the first movie” Did you tho? 😝 33:08 Hell yeah! Same! I can only imagine how that interaction went down. Hobie must’ve given her dad an earful
I picked up on something about this girls , she forgets some things and miss reads the stories sometimes but the main thing is that she doesnt feel emotions when she sees the colors in gwens worlds , she gets so confused on why the background is so weird and doesnt realise that its because it the way the characters are feelings or what the scene feels likes
Yes and she doesn't understand the numbers after each earth...its simple logic meaning there are different earths in different universes and each one have there very own spiderman. Except for earth 42 which they've already explained in the movie 😅
I love your reaction! And also: "If he refuses to be your sidekick, that's one step away from being the villain," is now my quote. I'm stealing that. It's mine now. ❤❤❤😂
By the time that 15-minute introduction scene was wrapped up, I knew this was going to be something special. It's not as perfect as the first film, but it's pretty damn close. The animation is top-notch and really makes the action scenes and the quiet character moments pop. The progression of the characters from the first film is also great, especially the development of Miles and Gwen's relationship, as well as implementing Miguel into the story really well and introducing the Spot, who may be one of the best animated villains I've seen in a while. And the score is just...wow, the first film had amazing music but Daniel Pemberton really outdid himself with this one, especially when it comes to Gwen's theme. If (or more likely when) the third film comes out and totally sticks the landing, I think we could be looking at a pretty much perfect trilogy
the way the 1st movie set standards for new animated movies, and now they DID IT AGAIN. set new and higher standards. that's just. SO COOL. saw this on big screen, completely forgot it's a two-parter, so f***ing LOST it at the end of the movie XDD amazing and funny reaction as usual!!! and the part with "a Hole new world" was hilarious lmao
I was blown away by this movie when I first saw it, and it has never stopped being very powerful for me. It is just beautifully executed, and I love Miles' journey throughout. The "To Be Continued" at the end caught me completely by surprise. Like... on some level, I realized that there wasn't much time left to wrap it up, and... I'm glad they split the movie, rather than cram a satisfying climax into the last 20 minutes of the runtime. I'm dying to see the third movie.
What more can be said about this movie that hasn't been said already? It's an absolute thrill ride from its strong humor, fantastic action sequences, memorable characters, great soundtrack, beautiful animation, phenomenal character development, impactful emotional moments, and a really well-handled cliffhanger that is shocking. I seriously put this film on par with something like Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, The Dark Knight, The Empire Strikes Back and Top Gun: Maverick as one of the greatest sequels of all time. I'm definitely hyped for Beyond the Spider-Verse, but since it got delayed indefinitely due to not just the strikes, but because barely any progress was made during production (it was supposed to come out next March), it's gonna be quite a long wait. But I'm sure the wait will be worth it.
In regards to the background changing while Gwen reveals her identity to her dad; I heard Hailee Steinfeld say in an interview that someone explained Gwen's world as a mood ring so, the world around them reacts to their emotions.
Miguel isn't technically a spider man in that he wasn't bitten by a radioactive spider; he's from a a cyberpunk future where all the superheroes are dead and so he tried to genetically recreate Spider-Man himself from scratch. Unfortuntely he got it wrong and became genetically 50 percent spider, which is why he has fangs.
I'm like, halfway through the reaction and OH MY GOD RIO DIDN'T DIE IN THE FIRST MOVIE, OKAY?! I'm not sure where you got that. Miles's uncle died, but not her.
The only ones who died in the first movie were the Spider-man from Miles' universe and his Uncle Aaron, not his mother. She was in the movie. You should have rewatched or seen a recap for Into the Spider Verse before watching this if you are having a Mandela Effect moment remembering his mom dying in the first movie
If I'm not mistaken Spider-man 2099 differs quite a bit from other spiders. Instead of being bit his DNA was spliced with spider genes which gave him retractable claws instead of the sticky hands, venomous fangs and I don't believe he has the Spider sense😅
Miguel is actually not a vampire unlike the other spiders in the spider society he wasn’t bitten by a spider his DNA was changed to become half human half spider which is way he has claws and fangs instead of having the abilities of a spider he became one
Lol. ½ of your reaction is just you showing the subscribers why it’s important to REWATCH the original before starting s a sequel lol 😅!!!! But still a fun reaction. Thanks for sharing! If you haven’t watched ARCANE for your channel, I recommend that next. You’ll love it 👍🏾 ⚡️
The Peter in Miles's universe died trying to stop the Kingpin he is the reason Miles got bit & the Spot was created so Miguel not only isn't getting the whole story he needs to step off & get off those injections he's taking.

Miguel isnt a vampire. He isnt a normal spider man either since he injected spider DNA into himself instead of being bit. Thats why he has fangs and claws, and no spider sense. Im pretty sure his fangs have a venom or something to make people fall asleep or become paralyzed, which is why he tried to bite the vulture guy.
In the comics he didn't inject spider DNA into himself. Someone else tried to give him a fatal mutation by adding spider DNA into the gene splicing machine he was using - he just happened to survive the mutation and gain his unique spider powers from it.
Miguel is the real villain he's racist in not allowing miles because he thinks he "shouldn't be spiderman,by believing in that canon events are important, and stupidly"choosing who to save and who to let them die"i mean that of not saving everyone and let them die is so wrong,he should be the next canon event victim who dies as punishment for his behavior!
i guess the could be a spoiler but i think they misread the cannon event. so i think its not the dad that is going to die. in all the movies the peter parker all lose a mentor, a family member/mentor and a best friend/ the person they love. Why did Sophie think Miles's Mom Rio was dead? 😅
I have no idea. And then to keep calling her an absentee mom, so rude. She was right there in the first one.

The first BRILLIANT animated movie I’ve ever seen, this is truly “the rare sequel that surpasses its predecessor”.
This was an amazing sequel (my favorite movie so far)
But the cliffhanger was insane.
Why do you keep saying Miles’ mom was gone in the first movie? Absent mother?! When did you last watch the first movie?
The reason Miles could escape all the Spider-Man is because of his spidey sense. Only his is tingling because they are chasing him
