Doug is a pretty underrated character. His relationship with Evie was sweet and endearing, he's an awkward nerd in a lovable way and he's also one of the only characters to treat the main characters with respect.
It was explained more in the books, but the villains that died were resurrected in modern times on the isle. The isle also only got the stuff that Auradon didn't want. They only got expired food and beauty products. Coffee was typically sludge and they were usually eating garbage. There are 5 books. The 1st one takes place before the 1st movie, the 2nd book takes place right after the 1st movie, the 3rd book takes place right before the 2nd movie, the 4th book takes place right before the 3rd movie and the 5th book (which will come out soon) takes place right before the 4th movie

So the reason they don’t know what chocolate is or Mal being surprised about strawberries is because the Isle of the Lost only gets Auradon’s trash. In the book, the isle residents even call it the Isle of the Leftovers I think. Obviously, they don’t get much fruit because it goes bad and not a lot of chocolate or donuts end up getting thrown away. If you read the book, you will see some horrifying living conditions like them drinking coffee with mud and frogs in it and eating moldy cheese puffs.
I love these movies. Such an amazing mix of singing and dancing talent and the fact that the Core 4 VKs (Villain Kids) were torn between fulfilling their parents' desires or their own.

I love songs, I love choreography, I love costumes, I love characters and I thought the concept of the villains' children was cool. Over the years, I realized its faults, like the scenario which is a little poorly put together, the characters sometimes cringe or inconsistencies via Disney (like old stories like Mulan or Sleeping Beauty which take place at the same time as Aladdin or 101 Dalmatians ? Yeah...) But hey, I especially like this film for its songs, the costumes and the relationships between the characters. And its sequels will also have impacted me for the same reasons, and just for that it's a great memory❤
10:40 to be fair, auradon didn't have the need to guard the relics until the children of the disney villains showed up so i think it's okay that they only had a singular guard there.
I think they are actually “over the top” on purpose to bring animated characters and their children to live action and they’re just over the top characters
This was a great reaction! The first film was a great introduction to the Descendants universe. Please continue with the rest of the tetralogy! The overall message is that anyone has the capability to do good or do evil. So you shouldn’t judge others until you get to know them. There is a book series that take place in between the films as well as an animated series. In the prequel book, “The Isle of the Lost”, we learn more about our main VKs (Villain Kids) and AKs (Auradon Kids). As for the ending, keep in mind that they just chose to be good, and they’re still gonna have to face other obstacles like temptations or fitting in. Also they’re not the only VKs who want to get off the island. The real irony is that most of the Auradon parents and kids are hypocrites like how Beast judges the kids based on their parentages when he got cursed for his own vanity or that Chad thinks his family’s royal status gives him the right to mistreat others when his own mother was given the same treatment and that his father fell in love with her kind heart instead of her appearance. Also, it’s been noticed that like in Disney’s Zombies, which I highly recommend that trilogy as well, Mal and Ben had just met practically, and they would need some time before they share true love’s kiss. #RIPCameronBoyce 😈👩🏻🎤🪄🐲🍎🐍🐶💜💙💛❤️

The movie was good, up until a very particular moment, and then everything felt rushed, like the producers were trying to hurry the story along so that it wasn't too long, and it creates a huge plot hole. (I won't give any spoilers) The 3rd movie is my favorite! 🥰
I love this movie but Belle and Beast make no sense , their whole storyline was based on Judging people unfairly. Yet the choose to imprison children on am island because of their parents. Doesn't make sense.

Descendants is probably Disney's weirdest franchise ever... It can be really cringe at times and it's very hard to tell if some of the ridiculous moments were intentional or they're taking them seriously (like if they have self-awareness of them), although the charm of the characters make them kinda worth watching... Dove Cameron is just so awesome!
Please watch the rest of the movies!!!! Everyone has different opinion, but I personally think they're good movies if you're not to hard on them (same kinda funny cringe style as the first)
