I love how Aunt May instantly adopted Miles as a nephew. Also 31:18 "when did he get so cool?" That was that universe's original (blonde) Peter's move Miles picked up while watching him fight Green Goblin.
This movie was not only amazing, but it helped to transform or evolve digital animation with its beautiful art, newer movies try to be like that, for example the animation of Turning Red, Mitchells versus the machines or The Bad Guys

@@dudotolivier6363 Into the Spider-Verse wasn’t a bomb at all (unless you meant to say “boom”. It made $190.2 million domestically and $375.5 million worldwide on a $90 million budget. It just now occurred to me why the dad always makes Miles say I love you back to him. As a cop, he could die at anytime so he always makes sure that the last thing he says to his family and vice versa is I love you. That is both sad and incredibly sweet.
As much as I love Spider-Man: No Way Home, this one is the best Spider-Man film for me. Everything about this film works. It has a top notch story, beautiful animation, awesome action, enjoyable characters, excellent motivations, and great humor. It’s pretty much everything we like to see in a comic book film. This definitely deserved its Oscar for Best Animated Feature. I can’t wait for Across the Spider-Verse next summer and Beyond the Spider-Verse in March 2024!
Same here, bro! Into The Spider-Verse leaped first so No Way Home can swing into gloriousness, but Into The Spider-Verse definitely did it well first! And I'm looking forward to Across The Spider-Verse next year, I'm so excited to see more of Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and the rest of the gang return, along with new characters
This is somewhat based on the Ultimate Spider-Man comics, which started as just a retelling of Spider-Man’s origin story in a modern setting, but was extended into a long-running series with big differences (including the female Doc Ock). It was the start of the Ultimate Marvel universe, which was new versions of other Marvel characters running separate from the main Marvel universe. Ultimate Marvel later broke down into a dark, awful mess after a big crossover that killed off a lot of characters, but Marvel tried to keep it going anyway and take chances with the surviving characters. In Spider-Man, they introduced Miles Morales, gave him spider powers and had him be trained by the first Ultimate Spider-Man. Then that Spider-Man died and Miles became the main Ultimate Spider-Man. When the Ultimate universe was destroyed in a big crossover with the main universe, he was added to the main universe, and has been part of it ever since

10:03 So this is actually Green Goblin but from the Ultimate Universe, setting of this film. Little insight but Miles Earth is Earth-1610 also known as the Ultimate universe a modern updated reimagine of Marvel superhero's placing them into the 2000s. Pretty much it was Marvels way of going back to the origins of these characters, updating them for a new generation starting with Ultimate Spider-Man, Ultimate X-Men, and finally The Ultimates who are The Avengers of this universe. In the Ultimate Universe Norman theorized that since the OZ combined with spider DNA gave Parker the abilities of a spider, if Norman were receive OZ combined with his own DNA he could become a heightened version of himself. The experiment went horribly wrong and an explosion occurred, affecting Harry and Dr. Otto Octavius, Norman was transformed into a grotesque, demon-like monster. Doctor Octavius was wearing tentacles designed by Oscorp that were connected to a harness across his waist. When the explosion occurred it burnt the metal harness into his skin and thus Doc Ock was born. Miles Earth also has some weird changes from Police cars having PDNY written on the side rather than NYPD like our own world. There's also an advert for Koca-Soda instead of Coca-Cola. Peter B. Parker is from Earth-616 the mainline Marvel comic universe that is closer to the comics and our world. Only difference is this Peter is much older and has gone through some bad times no doubt after years of fighting crime and similarity fighting some massive battles with other groups if we're following the comics. Because this is a Sony film I'm pretty sure they didn't have the rights to Avengers, X-Men etc. So because of this the movie is solely focused around Spider-People but no doubt there's a greater Marvel world out there while this is all happening. I just realized, Kingpins Motivation in this movie is the exact same motivation as Wanda in Multiverse of Madness only when he gets confronted with what he wants he doesn't learn the error of his ways and doubles down
At the scene where Miles made the glass break when he took the leap of faith it shows that Miles was not 100% into it he hesitated because if he did have have faith it wouldn’t have broke or at least it wouldn’t break and the glass pieces went to the same direction where Miles is
Good point but falling to his death had a great way of unlocking his potential right there on the spot. Even if he let go with slight hesitation, the leap itself still awaked him... or he would have died.
When Miles got his hand stuck in Gwen's hair, she said to relax because that may be how you deactivate the spider grip. Miles just panicked anyway, keeping it stuck.
Ok, I love this movie, and I have looked up a ton of fun facts about it (some of it I might not remember well, but whatever), so here goes: Miles was actually animated at 12 frames per second before he threw on the black suit and became more confident, while he was animated at the normal 24 frames per second after, making his animation seem clunkier and awkward at first but smooth and sharp later. There was a really interesting video that more or less explained the differences between the blonde Peter Parker and Peter B. Parker. Basically, it explained that blonde Peter Parker was the "brand", so of course he had the Spider themed lair, and doom buggy, multiple suits, just, everything Spider-Man that could possibly have, while Peter B. Parker was just the "man", as in, this was JUST Peter Parker. He only seemed to have his powers, his webshooters, and his suit, and no other gadgets (that we know of). It just makes him feel more realistic and the depressing events like his Aunt May dying or him and MJ divorcing make him also seem more human, instead of the typical, "main character gets pretty much everything he ever wanted" angle (almost like in Spider-Man: Homecoming). It also explains his more jaded and tired attitude (that and he's older, he's basically going through a mid-life crisis) Uncle Aaron was a LOT more messed up in the original Miles Morales comic. If I remember correctly, he was a villain, but was hardly redeemable. It was him who accidentally sneaked the radioactive spider to his place, where it bit Miles. Miles then tries to become like Spider-Man (bc this version ALSO died), but more or less failed bc he had no clue what he was doing (and I'm pretty sure bumped into Nick Fury, who gave him the new black suit, as well as MJ and Gwen Stacy, who sort of coached him a bit and gave him Peter's old webshooters). Basically tho, Uncle Aaron finds out Miles is the new Spider-Man, and more or less "trains" him, but has him do a LOT of shady or questionable stuff. I don't remember much what happens to Uncle Aaron after that, but I think him and Miles get into a bit of a fight and Miles ends up just leaving his uncle for a bit (also Miles mom dies from a supervillain and he ends up quitting Spider-Man for a few years (like I said, the comic is a LOT more messed up)) My absolute favorite scene in this has to be when Miles takes the leap of faith. The way it's shot makes it look like instead of falling, like when he tried to jump off the building the first time, it made it look like he was RISING. It just is such a powerful shot. I don't know much about Gwen Stacey as Spider-Woman, but I know she's had a few different Spidey themed names, like Spider-Gwen, Spider-Woman, Ghost-Spider, etc, all while having a similar white and black costume. I think the origin story for her is very similar to the movie, but a bit deeper. So, she's friends with Peter Parker, but she gets bit by the spider and becomes a superhero, right? (she might have had a similar origin story where she was on tv or just used her powers to get famous at first, but it was brief). Either way, Peter Parker (who must have known who Spider-Woman was now that I think of it) wanted to be special like her too, and ended up creating a formula and becoming her version of the Lizard (and if you look close enough at the shadow when she kicks the Lizard, it changes and morphs into Peter Parker's shadow, and you can still see a few scales on Peter's body as he dies) I know very little about Penny Parker but basically in her universe she shares a psychic link with the spider she saves at the end of the movie, that also controls the robot she rides in. She is from the distant future and her father was a scientist who made at least the robot and possibly the spider. A part of me almost doesn't want to see the sequel to this movie, because I feel like it wouldn't do it any justice. It just feels so... perfectly Spider-Man.

i don’t know what took me so long to watch this movie BUT! i saw you reacted on this one and finally decided to watch it first for myself. so i did it. it was amazing. thanks for pushing me to watch this “into the spidervers”. such a work of art
Green goblin has horns because he’s “ the ultimates” version of green goblin. The ultimates storyline is what lead to Miles Morales creation as a character.
Spiderman has always been my favorite from Marvel. ITSP had a lot of creativity. It also had very realistic characters. One thing I always enjoyed about Spiderman is that they display his struggles with a double life. The humility makes him relatable.
Dyk: In that facility escape scene, with Peter 2 taking a bagel and the scientists arming themselves with rifle briefcases, there was one scientist who just sat there minding her own business.
1:35 Don’t give up hope yet Sophie! After Spider-Man: No Way Home was a MASSIVE success both at the box office (nearly $2 billion worldwide during a pandemic) and with critics, many people praised Andrew Garfield for his redemption arc! Now many fans are begging Sony to release a third film in his trilogy (and a fourth film in the Tobey Maguire franchise). As long as they give him a better script, I hope they end off his trilogy right.
ONE OF US, ONE OF US Seriously though, as an artist who went to an upper class academic-based school, I seriously relate to Miles in this movie and his struggles with expectations. Everytime I watch this movie I nearly cry like five times. This movie seriously changed my life, and I didn't even know it existed until the day I saw it as a whim with some friends (wasn't a massive Spidey fan then). I absolutely ADORE this movie and I live by many of it's quotes
I was watching movies in class all the way from elementary to high school some of the teachers wanted us to write the stuff down though witch sucked but shoutout the the teachers that was just letting us watch the movies and enjoy it
Honestly this was one of those movies I judged before I watched it. Even tho I’ve enjoyed every previous Spider-Man movie when I heard about this one I was like “here we go again draining the spider man cash cow” when I finally sat down to watch it I was very pleasantly surprised.
fun fact the reason why the spider and many other things had the #42 on them was in honor of jackie robinson who was the 1st black man to play in the mlb (major league baseball ) league for the brooklyn dodgers (who are now the los angeles dodgers) and his # 42 is the only retired # in the leaguue
Yes a lot of us Americans watch at least 15 movies/ documentaries a year. One or two are a treat for good behavior, five when the teacher is having a bad day or doesn’t have any material for the day, and the other is for us to learn from the movie and saving the teachers voice.
This is a pretty special animated film. The story and the animation are top notch. Also, the seemingly endless debates of who’s the best Peter Parker kind of died down when No Way Home came out. Btw have you seen it?
Love this movie, there is a plot hole that always gets me. Miles reading a comic book of Spiderman in a world where Spiderman exists, unless they gave him a different secret identity than Peter Parker in the comic. Oh Kingpin, so upset that his wife and son are dead, so his response....take the wife and son from an alternate dimension. Which would in turn infuriate another Kingpin.....
funny fact i am TERRIFIED of spiders and when i was young i was bit on the back of my neck by one on my Birthday, so every year since on my birthday my dad says "oh its the year you become a spider person" 😂😂
14:03 they said complications due to earthquakes, not that he died cuz of one. its also likely they “disposed” of his body in such a way to make sure it can’t be traced back to them
Sup my dudes, God bless y'all, when I was little spider man was my favorite, every single person I knew, KNEW about my die hard toddler obsession for spider man hahaha
In _this_ continuity, Uncle Aaron was the Prowler because it paid the bills. It wasn't anything truly malicious, or really evil, he just needed money and had the physique and skills to get the done. He wanted to eventually quit, live a good life in NYC and be someone Miles could look up to. In _other_ continuities, he's just a dick. He lives longer than here, learns Miles' secret later into his career as Spider-Man, then blackmails Miles with that knowledge, before dying trying to kill him when Miles refused to be manipulated. He was then brought back to life when the Multiverse rebooted, with both their lives being transplanted into the 'Prime' universe (the Universe Peter B. Parker's is based on in this movie).
@@nielsjensen4185 This, followed closely by the one from Insomniac's Miles Morales game. As far as we know, it's basically the same reason for being Prowler as in Spider-Verse, but he decided to retire when Jeff died. He only takes up the mantle again to help/protect Miles, even if he was being overzealous about it.
And just in case you were curious: The animation was not made with Ben-Day dots. They're made with CMYK process halftones. Thank you, CinemaWins, for pointing that out.
If i could have ANY power, it would be spidermans powers. 1. *Super strength* 2. *Self healing* 3. *Climb walls* 4. *WEB SHOOTING!!!* litterally my dream powers, it would be so fun
Oh @SophieLents You have no idea how nostalgically happy I am that you uploaded this reaction right now!!! I love Spider-Man too, I grew up watching the Sam Raimi trilogy with Tobey Maguire, and also saw the Andrew Garfield Amazing Spider-Man movies (For the record, it was due to studio interference and lack of good writing that made them so subpar, but chemistry between Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone was priceless, and Jamie Foxx's character could have used more character depth and nuance), and I have seen the Homecoming trilogy with Tom Holland's Spider-Man which I enjoyed, being a little closer to the Peter Parker from the original comics. And I appreciate all the different memes and theme songs you used here, Sophie! You're a diehard fan just like the rest of us! Into The Spider-Verse was literally made to look like a comic book come to life, hence all the little thought bubbles, animations of sound effects, etc, and I love it all. Inception is a pretty great movie too, I'm willing to bet that it must have been the inspiration for this movie, for Doctor Strange, and for Spider-Man: No Way Home. Speaking of which, do you plan to include Inception and all the previous Spider-Man movies into your reaction watchlist? Let me know, please

Wow, just yesterday I red the storyline where Miles and Gwen work together and go dimension hopping to find Miles dad and Gwen ends up in this dimension where they are married for 20 years.
Just discovered this channel after being intrigued by the title of "Russian GIrl watched Anastasia." I went on to enjoy other clips like the HtTYD series, & Rise of the Guardians - I was excited for Sophie to see Santa depicted as Russian, but unfortunately, she seemed to miss the connection. With ItSV, I was surprised after her intro telling us she was a Spider-Man fan since childhood, but didn't recognise Kingpin, & seemed to actively not perceive why he was drawn in such an imposing, exaggerated manner. Well, art is subjective & it's easy to forget one of Spidey's -- Marvel's -- most famous villains, if you haven't seen the character in a while. She also wrote a caption that showed she missed that despite being embarrassed, Miles does indeed tell his dad he loves him, which the other students then mock. Another moment that caught my ear was when Miles came home after watching helplessly as his idol & literal saviour, Spider-Man, was pulverised to death; he asks his mother if they ever considered leaving Brooklyn. She says "...Our family doesn't run from things." Sophie added, "And we're broke, so, get your sh*t together." Considering all the times she became emotional over absolutely everything with the Dragons series, I was taken aback by "get your sh*t together" being aimed at a child, who literally witnessed a murder before his eyes. Alternately, while I pointed out some things Sophie missed in this reaction & others, she must also not have remembered that Miles' father is a (long-time) police officer, & we see his mother's nurse's scrubs as she's tucking Miles in. Either one of those salaries can bring in close to, if not, over 100K per year. Also, despite its long history of poverty in various sections, Brooklyn has been one of the most expensive places to live for several decades ("I don't think I could afford a place in Brooklyn." - Steve Rogers). I'm guessing it's not too different on Earth-1610. Where did the idea that the Morales family is broke come from? For all she misses, it was interesting to to hear Sophie add that in. It reminded me of the assumptions of poverty made by Miles' teacher in the next film, which his parents take umbrage at & correct. 🤔
miles is the afro-latino spider-man and 1 of marvel comics fans favorite and he was the kid the guy peter was trying to interogate in spider-man : homecoming

i don’t know what took me so long to watch this movie BUT! i saw you reacted on this one and finally decided to watch it first for myself. so i did it. it was amazing. thanks for pushing me to watch this “into the spidervers”. such a work of art
Green goblin has horns because he’s “ the ultimates” version of green goblin. The ultimates storyline is what lead to Miles Morales creation as a character.
Into the Spider Verse is one of the most inspiring animated films I’ve seen yet
Kathryn Hahn gave the voice for doc Ock and she is also Agatha from Wandavision, what a fabulous voice acting..
“She domesticated a spider”
There are some pet spiders
“How does he even walk”
He’s more muscle than fat despite his clothes making it look like it
Spiderman has always been my favorite from Marvel.
Legend
Yeah, that was me. Didn't know what all the fuss was about.
Lmao i love that little detail, she was like “It is WAY to early for this shit.”
You didn't recognize Kingpin? He was in a bunch of stuff, he's an iconic Marvel villain
If you listen when the villains show up at Aunt May's house, Aunt May says "Oh, great, it's Liv."
There’s no such thing as obsessed with Spider-Man. I love the unique animation, the characters and great comedy.
Lol. Legitimately live for your editing. The law and order theme popping in slayed me as well as a dozen other things. Great job, hope to see more!
The editing for this video deserve to win awards.
ONE OF US, ONE OF US
Seriously though, as an artist who went to an upper class academic-based school, I seriously relate to Miles in this movie and his struggles with expectations. Everytime I watch this movie I nearly cry like five times. This movie seriously changed my life, and I didn't even know it existed until the day I saw it as a whim with some friends (wasn't a massive Spidey fan then).
I absolutely ADORE this movie and I live by many of it's quotes
The reason Gwen laughed was that she was early in the sense she literally got blown into last week and arrived early before the story began.
Still the best Spiderman. Straight from the comic book. Can't do better.
Finally somebody understands theres litterally no point in discussing which spiderman is the best
This Green Goblin is actually comic accurate to the one in Ultimate SpiderMan as well as a few others
12:29
"well whats it about then??"
"THE METS BABY ITS ABOUT THE METS LETS GO LOVE THE METS GET A HOME RUN LOVE THE METS!!"
man I love the editing, feels like I'm back in 2014 and 2016 at the same time
I was watching movies in class all the way from elementary to high school some of the teachers wanted us to write the stuff down though witch sucked but shoutout the the teachers that was just letting us watch the movies and enjoy it
miles dad told him to say i love you back because he's a cop and he knows there's a chance he could get killed
Sophie calling Kingpin a Bimbo was not something my body was prepared to hear today lmfao--
The best part about this movie is that it suprised some of of us by KILLING SPIDERMAN'S UNCLE.
Wherever the sequel is on stream and you watch it, remember these words. "The bagel effect"
Yes a lot of us Americans watch at least 15 movies/ documentaries a year. One or two are a treat for good behavior, five when the teacher is having a bad day or doesn’t have any material for the day, and the other is for us to learn from the movie and saving the teachers voice.
remember when at the beginning blonde peter said he made a christmas album in the montage? that album actually exists
I grew up watching the Toby Mcguire spider-man when I was a kid. I saw most of the other Spiderman movies as well.
This is a pretty special animated film. The story and the animation are top notch. Also, the seemingly endless debates of who’s the best Peter Parker kind of died down when No Way Home came out. Btw have you seen it?
I have!
@@SophieLents got another one for you Soph. They compare it to this animation too. The movie is: The Bad Guys
They aren't watching a movie is an educational film. We've always watched them my whole time in school.
funny fact i am TERRIFIED of spiders and when i was young i was bit on the back of my neck by one on my Birthday, so every year since on my birthday my dad says "oh its the year you become a spider person" 😂😂
14:03 they said complications due to earthquakes, not that he died cuz of one. its also likely they “disposed” of his body in such a way to make sure it can’t be traced back to them
I've been keeping track with all these videos I watch from your channel of how many times you've mentioned Tarzan.
It's up to 4 now.
Sup my dudes, God bless y'all, when I was little spider man was my favorite, every single person I knew, KNEW about my die hard toddler obsession for spider man hahaha
The most dangerous profession is being Spider-Man's uncle.
The moment you said "Andrew Garfield" i got an Ad starring him lol 😂
The way this movie is designed is that you can pause it at any given moment, and you'll have something that could go in a comic panel.
Oh I love how you started talking about how all the spidermans are great because it's true! :D
This is one film that was fantastic in 3D at the theater.
As an American student, i can conform we do watch movies in class, it is a thing.
Awesome!
You should watch the second spider verse and rio 2
I've yet to find a single person who doesn't love this film.
This is the best version of Aaron too.
31:29 She actually has a telepathic link with that spider, not owner and pet.
24:30 It's even more fucked up because Octavius knows that Fisk's family will die shortly after they switch dimensions. She's playing him.
And just in case you were curious:
The animation was not made with Ben-Day dots. They're made with CMYK process halftones.
Thank you, CinemaWins, for pointing that out.
your reactions are GREAT sophie !!!
you are an amazing reactor and can’t wait to watch more and support your channel more ❤️❤️❤️
I loved this movie so much that I played it back to back
If I saw a spider I'll start screaming jumping and this boy never heard the origin of Spider-Man
7:30
Sophie: "My man has iron balls."
Movie: [cuts to crotch shot]
5:16 Yes
We watch movies in literally all the classes. It happens all the time when teachers don’t wanna teach, or there’s nothing going on lol
If i could have ANY power, it would be spidermans powers. 1. *Super strength* 2. *Self healing* 3. *Climb walls* 4. *WEB SHOOTING!!!*
litterally my dream powers, it would be so fun
I love Spider-Man! And this movie is amazing! So I’m glad you’re doing this reaction!
9:32 you scared her 😠😅Plus the Enya music 🎶
This movie has the most important Stan Lee cameo in context of the story
You saw Doc Oct's desktop that was the first sign she was nuts.
I plan to do more reactions to marvel movies 👀
@@SophieLents Awesome, that's great to hear! I hope you are having a great day and weekend so far! 🌞 😎
Loved your reaction
Are you the one doing your editing cuz MY GOD! It's top tier!
I am & thank you 🥺🥰
I am always excited to see a new first-time reaction to ITSV
The guy who notes, "Probably a Banksy" is actually Post Malone.
She finally says she's late! EVERY MOVIE YOU'VE REACTED TO YOU'VE SEEN IT LATE! (Love you tho :)) also can you react to hotel Transylvania 4 (transformica)? Oo don't forget about wreck it Ralph 2 (Ralph breaks the internet)
I guess Wanda Maximoff watched “Into the Spiderverse” as well.
now thinking of it, Fisk and Wanda arent too diferent on their plans
I probably spent more time watching jaws in my high-school history class then I did learning lol
I live in America, and we did watch movies in class.
Thanks for another video! 😊
Yes!!! I love Black Cat from the 90’s animated series til today. I hope she appears in the Spiderverse Part 1 movie. I’m glad this movie is having people know more of the Spider people. Hopefully next movie brings in Silk, Spiderwoman, Spidergirl & others since it will have over 200 characters.
if you've seen the disney + series hawkeye the girl who plays kate bishop voiced gwen stacey . the actress who voice female doc oct played agetha in wandavision
This is one of my favourite movies of all time😍😍😍😍!! I can quote movie from beginning to end😂
Beyond the Spider-Verse was supposed to be released in 2024 but was delayed to 2026 due to the (now ended) WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes
Yes, her name is WANDA and she's at the VISION academy :p
Wow, just yesterday I red the storyline where Miles and Gwen work together and go dimension hopping to find Miles dad and Gwen ends up in this dimension where they are married for 20 years.
This movie is Amazing! Spectacular! Superior! This really is the Ultimate Spider-Man movie!
You're an Amazing reactor Sophie!, it's so fresh to see a good Marvel film
love this movie! literally just bought my spider-gwen cosplay
"Wearing headphones outside cause I'm socially awkward."
Girl same, I'm a dude and living in NYC is just not it.
miles is the afro-latino spider-man and 1 of marvel comics fans favorite and he was the kid the guy peter was trying to interogate in spider-man : homecoming
This spider is a inter-dimensional spider
I gave up on comic book movies years ago and almost didn't see thus because the past 10 years comic book movies have sucked! But something about this made me want to take a chance on it and I'm so glad I did. This is one of my absolute favorite movies. Can't wait until the sequels are released. Great reaction.
