Was this his first run-in with the law? Most states have a deferred adjudication program where you don’t have to go to prison on your first offense. Didn’t this kid get like 10 years of probation? That stuff isn’t a walk in the park either.

We as Americans also call 16 a child/minor when the vast majority of Americans are cool with or do not care about a 16 year old legally driving a car "when they can kill someone" or when the commit premeditated murder and being treated like an adult.
When it comes to sex they get treated like a child/minor even when they agree to it which is hypocritical even though there is a context they can be legally married at both 16 and 17.
You want to talk like the judge is corrupt but the laws that defend 16 is a child/minor/baby also defend the judge and 16 year old too.

I'm sorry, but not even the BEST LAWYER IN THE WORLD should be able to convince a quadruple murder + 14 other injured from DUI to bring a sentence to less than a year. My car was hit by a drunk driver and totaled. Some teenager in a big truck just like this who fled the scene and was arrested after leaving his license plate imbedded in my bumper. My thoughts after walking out of work to see my car folded in half was “thank god i wasn’t in the car I would be dead.” But the next day, my friend drove me to work and on the highway, someone hit us and pushed us into the barrier, and we had to go in the ambulance to the hospital. Life is crazy but I could have died two times within 18 hours so you have to be thankful. I have no sympathy for anyone who drives intoxicated and puts other people’s lives in danger.

Go use the wonderful internet that you use to spread your false hate to look up spoiled rich brats and go and see how diverse they are. A girl I went to school with was a minority but daddy was a cop and she got put of multiple underages and DUI's just off her fathers prowess. I had a friend who, at 18, drove drunk, crashed and killed his best friend since childhood. Both of his parents were professors at a famous college, one had been awarded a pitzer prize. They were very wealthy. He was sentenced to California prisons like everyone else does. He did over 5 years (his sentence was like 10-12 something like that, doesn’t seem long to some but ca prisons are not a walk in the park). The victims family even went to court and begged the judge for leniency because they had been best friends, but he was treated like everyone else. He’s out now, prison SCREWED him up but the guilt is what’s done the worse to him. No one wins when something like this happens. I hope this young privileged boy uses his resources to do good, this chance he got to not have to go to pelican bay, san Quentin etc like my friend did. My friend has never felt sorry for himself once for what prison was like, he felt he deserved every second. He wasn’t doing well mentally (survivors guilt) and his opportunities were few bc he is a felon so I helped him get a job with cal fire, he works at a national park now and helps with fires and preventing them when needed. He’s dedicated his life to try and make up for the one took, so sad. No one wins and everyone loses when something like this happens.
