This video gives you a brief overview of how to sum all 12 inputs together on SiX. SSL SiX - The Ultimate Desk-Top Mixer: www.solidstatelogic.com/studi...
Reminds me of one of the old Monty Python skits which went something like this, "Today we will learn how to play the flute. First, move your fingers up and down and then blow into the flute. Next week, we will learn how to play the trumpet." :-)
Okay, but the ‘alt inputs’ have a different gain structure, and even when cranked all the way up, they don’t seem to sum at the required (-10db calibration) levels. Am I missing something here? Thanks
Does the alt input accessible via db25 flow through the main mono channels? I'd like to be able to route signal out from my interface and through the mono channels for processing without having to keep plugging/unplugging from the normal inputs on top whenever I want to plug in a guitar or mic.
Aren't the Channel Insert Returns available for summing along with the line level signals? That would bring it to 14 channels. And how about the Main Insert Returns?
if you hit the insert switch it switches to the affected source, it's like swapping out the master for a now eq'd version from an external insert. all the insert switches switch to the processed signal
Hi there. Does anyone use the six in Ableton 10 suite for summing. I'm using focusrite Scarlett 18i20 but can't get the routing to maximize my capabilities
You just go to each track and assign the output. So for example If you have 6 tracks of drums you would have that assign to 1 in 2 output keys 3 and 4 output as your main and this would continue to go on for grouping instruments in a stereo stem out unless you want to do mono out. Now from here you used proper cables coming out of your interface if you have 8 line out this would then come in to the SSL SIX 👊🏾👊🏾👊🏾

ahahahaha! Mi sento anche io così....
😂😂precisely!
Nice work on this SIX video SSL 👍🏽👍🏽
We need a video like this for the big six and how to record on Computer!
For stereo 3-4 channel should I use TS or TRS cable ?
Nice clear explanation. What kind of cable would I need to access the alt inputs (through the Dsub)?
TRS
@@Brrrbrrrr Thanks!

Hi, dont have that problem. They match up with the other gain structure. Have a look again

Hi, they are two seperate inputs - either mono or stereo. However they do not run through the comp/eq section
And the talkback mic?

Let me know how you're doing. I'm also working in Ableton and looking for a solution like this.

@@zillaquest02 cheers will give it a try
With audio-interface would be ideal for summing on the SiX?
Depends on the needs. I use a focusrite too - however rme or uad will get you a better d to a conversion.
hi do you lose any audio quality if you record from the B-BUSS ? compared to the min buss outputs ,,thanks
No.
No, absolutely not
I don't understand Channel 11 and 12. Can you explain later? And i have another question. How i can use db25 connection? My interface have too.
Channel 11 and 12 are TRS Dsub outlets (thats what I have - 5&6 pn the dsub cable)

Show us your DSUB CONNECTORS !!!!! hahahaha......
deffo needs some noise between the voice. hahah. they gated him hard
