    You talk about changing the record level to the interface at 1:10 - so what about the channel 1 fader? Does this do anything in this situation?

    • @glenesis
      @glenesis 4 года назад +2

      Yeah, the fader feeds into Bus B and then Bus B is attenuated by the level knob.
      In a case where more than the one source is routed to Bus B, the Bus B Level knob would attenuated the combined mix of those sources.
      So the fader controls the level of this mic channel feeding into the Bus B knob.

    Is there a way to record as in this video and also have a comfort reverb on the monitor but not being recorded.

    • @AnthonyMartinsRock
      @AnthonyMartinsRock 4 года назад +2

      Yeah, just send a channel of your fx into 3 or 4 so your bus b is going out to your recording device and you can route the fx mix to one of the cues.

    thanks why do you need to change your stereo main outs to bus b to go into sound card , iv not got mine yet get tomorrow ,as I'mwas planning just to use the main outs to go into sound card as id no like to unplug and replug channels ,can you just keep the main outs for stereo in to audio interface ,, thanks

      Facts. This is a cool option tho. My guess is SSL wanted to show it’s customers an alternative way to use it. I think most users will do the obvious setup of main outs to their interface. Most people will over look the mix bus B. Especially novice users.

    SSL Six price yesterday at the major US retailers: $1499. Prices today $1799. Six channel 500 series module went up $100 as well... I was considering a SiX, but with prices up again, no thank you.

    Hi, are the individual channel 'insert sends' pre or post EQ and compression? .. could you use an insert send to record a mono channel with the compression and EQ applied? Thanks

    • @richiefamus8778
      @richiefamus8778 5 лет назад +2

      If you connect a D Sub to 1/4 snake to the D Sub outs on the back of the six, I believe the 1/4 inch cables 3/4 carry the preamp channels 1 & 2 out to your interface. Yes, it is post eq and compression. So yes you can.

      @@richiefamus8778 Thank you, I'm only seeing your reply now. So the insert send is after the EQ and Comp? Thats great to hear for recording purposes. Then the return on the D-sub comes in right before the cue sends/fader yes? Thanks for taking the time to reply. I'll pick one of these up if thats the case.

      @@AnthonyMartinsRock awesome, I'm nearly convinced. Do you ever record either of the 2 channels into a DAW mono? A direct out on the channels and I'd already have bought this, but I'm sure its handy enough to set up with all the i/o options .. maybe BUS B to your interface inputs 1 and 2, and you pan say channel 1 hard left and send it to BUS B to record it mono into DAW input 1? is there any better ways? .. would be nice to be able to track mono into the DAW for vocals, bass, kicks, snares, and not have them all stereo for no reason coming from BUS B into the interface. The insert send could be an ok option too, but I would still like to have my inserts for outboard if possible. Thank you for your time and recommendations

    Is bus b pre or post insert?

    • @glenesis
      @glenesis 4 года назад +1

      It's post_fader, so it's post-channel-insert. It's a second stereo mix bus.

      You can't buy the bus compressor for less than two grand. This is a bargain.

    • @AnthonyMartinsRock

      I would like to see the alternative you speak of. 2 SSL pres alone without a box to put them in would cost more, minus the eq and 3 compressors.
