    Awesome. I love the routing options as well. What ever you can think of the Six can do it.

    Excellent video. You laid it out perfectly. Thank You. Quick question. I have an external Lexicon MX 400) reverb unit. What would be the easiest way to route that to the SiX so I can print to pro tools with the reverb on my vocals? Thanks

    • @amateurmusicstudio

      thank you for watching the video and for the question. You have a few options: if you want to use is across the entire mix (like a master effect) you could insert it to master insert (assuming you have 2 x DB25 connectors). The second option is to use it for channel 1 & 2 as insert effect (again DB25s are required). I would go with the 3rd option: use CUE1 or CUE2 to send to the reverb (use regular TRS connectors to take output from CUE1 or CUE2 at the back of the unit) and return to EXT1 or EXT2 and route it to the main mix. I hope it makes sense but please let me know if you need more information. Thanks

    Is it possible to connect 3 keyboards, stereo (outputs l and r), through this mixer, with full equalization?

    I ended up getting a SoundCraft LX7II in almost new Condition......man....Im Starting to thing the Medium Sized SoundCraft Consoles are the Best on a Low Budget, Unliess you can afford a full SSL, Trident or API.......I would put my SoundCraft LX7II against...the Little Six, Big Six, Mackie, Tascam 24 or Mix Wizard any day of week...this thing is taking my Masters up to a new level
    Ive got 24 Clean Pres, Mixing Bay in Middle of the Board, Aux Sends and Returns, 4 Band British EQ on Each Channel and InBoard Headphone Tracking....you wont beat this unless you can go all the way up to a "High End Console"

      Thank you for watching the video and for your comment. I have to say that I was looking at that one myself for sometime too and it looked very interesting. I checked everything available on the market at the time before buying SSL Six. Well, there is one massive difference between the SSL stuff (SIX and BIG SIX) vs any mixer since the SSL do not do mixers - these are consoles (small but consoles). The routing options are on another level and I have never seen any mixer with half of the options available on the SSL. Some would say it is a gimmick but after using both SIX and BIG SIX I would not want to change to anything else. Saying that, I find that EQs are not very useful and the compressor is good but very limited in use too. I guess, both SIX and BIG SIX were designed to be used in combination with plugins (which is sort of ok in a modern days I guess) but I wish I would have an option to do most of the work without computer (like you probably can with SoundCraft). Please check my latest videos (and the near future ones with SSL products) as I would try to do just that - use SSL only gear and plugins for mixing. Thank you!!!

    Woah! One question I never got clarity on was
    “ can I send ANY input to the EQ/Compressor on 1/2”

      Hi there. Thank you for watching the video and for your question. YES if you connect it the same way as I have - using CUE 1 (or CUE 2) on any input channel knob to send to the CUE output; connect CUE output to the LINE INPUT of the channel 1 and 2. I hope it makes sense but please let me know if you need more info. You may want to check my other video - ruclips.net/video/vpf9Q-Wyh0I/видео.html where you can find more details about it.

      @@amateurmusicstudio Hey AMS thank you for your reply Much Appreciated!
      Please allow me to focus on the one step I wish to achieve.
      I have audio going into EXT 1 L/R.
      No other cables are in the unit.
      Im wondering if I can route that single stereo input to channels 1 and 2 and see those meters moving?
      Once I understand that single task then I can continue.
      Thanks for your patience as I am a total rookie.

    • @amateurmusicstudio

      Thank you for your message. Unfortunately, there is no way to achieve that without any additional external routing. I have got back to my SIX and my new set up included that loop - from ST CUE 1 (or 2) output into channel 1 & 2 LINE input. This way anything coming into the mixer can be routed to channel 1&2 using ST CUE 1 (or 2) and with a press of a few buttons only. Please let me know if you need more info on this. Thanks

      Hi there. Thank you for your question. I have made it myself and it has gone through five modifications. I have modified it to suit my new setup, space and requirements. I have to admit that by the time I completed building it I have realised it would have been cheaper to buy one ready made. The only benefit I have had was the custom size to suit my space perfectly. I hope this helps. Thank you for watching.

    • @amateurmusicstudio
      @amateurmusicstudio  2 года назад

      Thank you for your comment and sorry for the late reply - Yes, it is possible to do that too. I do not have any pedals (but I was considering getting some) but if I had - I would use stereo CUE 1 or 2 to do that. The return from any external processor (including pedals) could come back on EXT1 or EXT2 or as ALT - there are so many options with SSL SIX... Thanks for watching!!!

    hello there, how did you connect both super-analogue input from? can I use it as normal second line in?

      @amateurmusicstudio  2 года назад

      Thanks for your question. You may want to watch my video with the connection explanation - ruclips.net/video/vpf9Q-Wyh0I/видео.html
      But it short - I have connected the main output from my Motif to LINE input of the 1 and 2 on SSL SiX, but also connected the output from the St CUE 1 to the mic input of the 1 and 2 on SSL SIX. I use the LINE switch on each channel to switch between LINE and MIC on each channel allowing me to leave all the cables plugged in permanently. I hope this helps.

      Hey, I see the video, it’s great.
      So, I connect the output of the external 1 and 2 to the Super-analogue input, so I can then route the audio from the ext1 e 2 to the first 2 channels of the mixer, correct?

    • @amateurmusicstudio
      @amateurmusicstudio  2 года назад

      @@yecadmusic9684 Yes, also you could route the audio from the stereo channels to channel 1 and 2 using ST CUE. The only thing to keep in mind is that you can only route 'one' thing at the time - either EXT1 or EXT2 or ST CUE(stereo channels 3-4 and 5-6) or Talkback but it works great for me the way it is.

      Thank you for your questions. No, the first one (the SIX) did not come with any which is the worst thing for me. I have tried BIG SIX and it is good but the best part of it was that it had USB 16in/16out stereo. I wish they would have added that to SIX.... I still use it and I still like it though... Promised it would be clear. But no. This is the most incomprehensible explanation on the internet. The author of the video can't explain in simple and few words what this device does. He dumps a ton of peas of facts and small distracting trivia on you, often distracting you and losing the point. Don't waste your time.
