@Dex4Sure Empyr said "I will give half of the reward for now. Another half when you find my daughter" and gave 2000 crowns. I am sure because that happened a few hours ago.
Wtf why does she care so much? I agree with what Geralt says at the end. Like... Ciri should know he loves her, but why not take the fucking gold too lol
Because it undermines the authenticity of the earlier advice he gave her to see her father. Because it makes it seem like he gave her that advice for mercenary reasons.
Thanks xLetalis. Never knew what I was missing by playing the selfless hero. Now I think it's safe to say most of us made the right call. This shit is cold-blooded.
I never took Ciri to see the douchbag emporer. I was nice and encouraging to her and in the end she survived and became a witcher like she always wanted and I ended up with Triss like I wanted. Win win.
There is no school of Wolf left and you went to Kovir how long Ciri will last alone as a witcher? 3 months?? Then she will be found dead in a dark hole :((
Ciri's young. She got tired of traveling between worlds after a while because it was just one wonder after another. How long will it be before she's tired of slogging through muck after drowners for peanuts? How many real witchers dream of leaving the Path? I doubt Lambert or Gaetan or a number of others would think it was a smart choice on her part. Ciri really needs to grow up, learn some self control, and find something useful to do with all the potential she has. I really prefer the empress ending myself.
I did that after watching this just to see if she brings it up at some point. Turns she thinks about it before she dies. I've never been more pissed for trying this meme out. Loaded save before finding her and undoing so many hours of the story.
Thanks for making this. I was set on never being a bad father to Ciri, so I never would have gotten this scene in any playthrough. Watching this made me feel repulsed
Given what happens later, 1:22 onward makes Geralt look like a manipulator. Each moment game pauses for you to pick dialogue I can see him, counting the money in his thoughts already. He wont let them slip away without a fight ;D
Well i'm glad you did it because i was never gonna be able to. Isn't it crazy that iv'e been playing this game since it released in 2015 and i still can't bring myself to take the coin in this scene. As a matter of Fact i still wouldn't be able to bring my self to do a lot of things in this game.
I don't usually accept the money but in a way it makes sense. Why not bleed the Emperor a little if you can? It's not about the money but if it's there, and you're able to make a rich power a little poorer, hell yes!
Ikr, that's how I also see it, I mean Ciri definitely knows Geralt wasn't doing this for the coin, it's not like she doesn't know him very well, and any amount of money could prove useful.
FInally a logical comment! ALthough it would have been better if (as I initially thought), Geralt pronounced the written sentence. "Definitely need it more than you" would give the tone.
You cant hear the author of this video crying out loud when clicking his dialogue options. You can feel it from the pauses... A truly remarkable sacrifice made for science...
One of the games biggest flaws is it’s xp system, oh you just slaughtered an ancient beast that guards the realms of all demons? Well, that’ll bet you a nifty 10 crowns and 2xp 🙄 I can appreciate the game pushing its story quests as the main levelling path but it also takes away from the victorious feeling you get from doing other activities.
+popula i didn't take the money iwas by her side . I think being overprotective is the reason for getting the "bad ending" Although alot of people hated that ending but i liked it .
I'm pretty sure taking the coin won't change the good ending. I took the coin in my first playthrough because I was broke and wanted to make mastercrafted armor set so badly lol.
First half of the deal Geralt got was 2k after Geralt showed up with Uma at the emperor, would get the other half if Geralt brings Ciri back. (No drama NPC give it the first time i just gets added.)
I feel him. My Geralts typical witcher super poor all the time. Ya know, killing a monster, returning to elder dude whos like:" Ive never heared about that monster in my entire live!" Me:" AAARGH!!!? " Then going full cat school over them.
i was thinking of a Witcher 4 game with Ciri being the main character, since the Geralt story is over (he can be a side character), it took me an hour to think up the perfect intro but here's the short version: in the beginning you start as dandelion and you're with the blonde Pricilla(?)in a pub for the Anniversary of Ciri's fight vs the white frost. she asks you who's coming, you answer: 1) Geralt, Yen, Triss, Ciri (Ciri becomes witcher/empress ending) 2) Yen and Triss (Bad ending where Geralt dies) Once you say that, the game takes you to Ciri, even if you thought her dead! Empress Ciri - approaches pub with her royal escort Witcher Ciri - Finishing a drowner contract with Geralt and riding to the pub with him Missing Ciri - She's running through the forest and coincidentally to the pub where all the others are celebrating. But she's being followed by a massive monster (who would go rampage around the pub even if Ciri wasn't missing in the first place) it turns out that Ciri survived the fight vs the white frost but took some time off as she was angry with Geralt, leaving him feeling guilty and after killing the crone, getting prepared to accept his fate - until Ciri teleports to him and gives him a purpose to live. The developers would add in other important questions like: -Who won the war: Redania or Nilfgaard -Who Geralt is with: Triss, Yen or no one -Who rules the skellige isles -What happened to our favorite Bloody Baron? The story could be set in kovir, Dwarf land, the arab land (people from DLC 1) and maybe even the heart of the (Milf)gaardian Empire - Sorry, i had to :D I really do hope they make another Witcher trilogy, based in the same world with Ciri as the main character.
Matthew Norzan Last of the Geralt trilogy, yes. They said they will continue the Witcher as a series though. i just hope it's about Ciri and that Geralt can be a side character
I hope they don't do that. As much as I love Geralt and the witcher universe, I don't like Ciri at all and yes, I read the books. I found her most of the time very annoying and you have to consider that you can't sell a game about Ciri as a Witcher. Ciri didn't get the mutations, so she is not a real witcher like Geralt or Lambert
Ciri will call Emhyr her "papa" in Blood and Wine if you get Ciri's empress ending So suddenly, I don't feel bad anymore for Ciri if you decided to make Geralt sells her for money to Emhyr in the main game. Calling Emhyr "papa" in front of Geralt is in the same level of heartless. He even reacts with a sad face. Just some time as empress she is alredy calling Emhyr her "papa" and forgeting everything that her only and real dad Geralt did for her.
I thought "well, since im already here, and she is already here, might as well take the money, nothing changes if i say no..." I guess Ciri disagreed... but what was i supposed to do? Throw away that much money just to prove a point? IT WAS FREE MONEY OK? I CAN FEEL YOU JUDGING ME
I took the money as a mistake this time.... The one bad decision I made that felt bad to me and I ended with the worst ending possible. Even though I had some amazing times at the end before ciri suddenly had a flashback of this. Ridiculous!
What did geralt do wrong? Just excepting pay for his work. He never said it was just for coinIsn't it fair that geralt gets a bit of compensation for taking a contract that took him to 3 region fighting all sorts of monstrosities?
its about the implication. ciri is a person who has to expect to be used by anyone and everyone she meets, getting that same treatment from her "father" breaks her heart.
When O'Dimm lists the way to get Ciri alive in his reward for HoS mission, he weighs in on "don't make her feel she's been sold" Does that mean doing this gets the Ciri dead ending no matter the other checks?
You know a game is great when you get so invested in it that you genuinely make moral choices coz you see Geralt and yourself as the same person. I could never bring myself to hurt Ciri or Yennefer. So glad we have youtube to see alternate choices.
My life was fine untill I knew this was an option. I've finished this game an unhealthy amount of times and I'm glad I never even thought of doing this
It will be funny if devs made one more option when geralt choose to visit emhyr like : yo Ciri your biological father hire me, let's loot the treasures in vizima castle and spent it for fun. And both of them live happily ever after with those coin.
When I took Ciri to Emhyr on my first playthrough, I refused the money, but thinking back regardless, not taking her to Emhyr at all would've avoided the Bad Ending.
Stefan Stradowski I honestly think this make sense.... you play like a witcher who taking deals a complete it for money, without personal emotions .... like you always do or not ? 🤔
Think about it from her point of view. She never asks to see Emyhr, Geralt is the one who suggests it and even if he tells her to do as she feels, she still wants to know from Geralt what he feels she should do. And then after that, he takes the money. That makes it seem like the money was what mattered and why he wanted to take her to Emyhr. She'd be understandably hurt by that.
idk why Ciri cant be a pragmatist about it. I mean let your step dad get a payday without having to risk his life for once. Not like this means he sold you out. After all you are free to come and go, no one is stopping you from doing what you want, sheesh. But noooooo I gotta swallow a loss for the fee fees ugh!
Would have been even more cringier if Geralt was counting to make sure it was the right amount :D

"il be over it by the time we advance the plot"
She doesn't though. It adds to the ending choice. She acts "over it" because it saves lines to not have to record all the Night on Bald Mountain and onwards lines with an additional Angry Ciri, but it does apply in the end.
Kristoffer I like how choices work in Witcher because they're not immediate effects but add up later on. That stupid tree man,I just wanted to save his wife xD

Killing Nekkers in the swamps of Velen is more profitable than saving the Emperor's daughter. :D

Wtf why does she care so much? I agree with what Geralt says at the end. Like... Ciri should know he loves her, but why not take the fucking gold too lol
Billiam women want you to bleed for em
Because it undermines the authenticity of the earlier advice he gave her to see her father. Because it makes it seem like he gave her that advice for mercenary reasons.
Thanks xLetalis. Never knew what I was missing by playing the selfless hero. Now I think it's safe to say most of us made the right call. This shit is cold-blooded.

I never took Ciri to see the douchbag emporer. I was nice and encouraging to her and in the end she survived and became a witcher like she always wanted and I ended up with Triss like I wanted. Win win.
The Darkness Depends. To me that ending would be awful
There is no school of Wolf left and you went to Kovir how long Ciri will last alone as a witcher? 3 months?? Then she will be found dead in a dark hole :((
Yen ftw
Ciri's young. She got tired of traveling between worlds after a while because it was just one wonder after another. How long will it be before she's tired of slogging through muck after drowners for peanuts? How many real witchers dream of leaving the Path? I doubt Lambert or Gaetan or a number of others would think it was a smart choice on her part. Ciri really needs to grow up, learn some self control, and find something useful to do with all the potential she has. I really prefer the empress ending myself.
I had Witcher and Triss and that's the best ending idgaf what anyone says.
An emperor always pays his debts.

He wont let them slip away without a fight ;D
hehe
4:33 OMG that look on her face is heartbreaking...those eyes so lost...
yeah :(
poor ciribaby :/
After all those years, this scene is still the one that disgusts me the most.
Well i'm glad you did it because i was never gonna be able to. Isn't it crazy that iv'e been playing this game since it released in 2015 and i still can't bring myself to take the coin in this scene. As a matter of Fact i still wouldn't be able to bring my self to do a lot of things in this game.
I just never go to the empera, anyway.
I don't usually accept the money but in a way it makes sense. Why not bleed the Emperor a little if you can? It's not about the money but if it's there, and you're able to make a rich power a little poorer, hell yes!
the emperor of nilfgaard poorer by 2000 oreons yeah that really made a fucking difference...
poorer? Getting Ciri back probably made him richer maybe...
+Damien Green yep

Well, that’ll bet you a nifty 10 crowns and 2xp 🙄 I can appreciate the game pushing its story quests as the main levelling path but it also takes away from the victorious feeling you get from doing other activities.
how could you do this ! i cant watch it 😂
spoiler alert
it affects the ending of the game, if you do this and some other things the ending wont be pleasant

I think being overprotective is the reason for getting the "bad ending"
Although alot of people hated that ending but i liked it .

+growmania yeah its like one of those epic movies ending

+xLetalis LOL 2K? Geralt gets better money by killing bandids

Then going full cat school over them.
This is definitely your favourite video, She's been sold like 400 times just by you lmao
i dont believe anyone playing the game through properly could do that.
i was thinking of a Witcher 4 game with Ciri being the main character, since the Geralt story is over (he can be a side character), it took me an hour to think up the perfect intro but here's the short version:
in the beginning you start as dandelion and you're with the blonde Pricilla(?)in a pub for the Anniversary of Ciri's fight vs the white frost. she asks you who's coming, you answer:
1) Geralt, Yen, Triss, Ciri (Ciri becomes witcher/empress ending)
2) Yen and Triss (Bad ending where Geralt dies)
Once you say that, the game takes you to Ciri, even if you thought her dead!
Empress Ciri - approaches pub with her royal escort
Witcher Ciri - Finishing a drowner contract with Geralt and riding to the pub with him
Missing Ciri - She's running through the forest and coincidentally to the pub where all the others are celebrating. But she's being followed by a massive monster (who would go rampage around the pub even if Ciri wasn't missing in the first place)
it turns out that Ciri survived the fight vs the white frost but took some time off as she was angry with Geralt, leaving him feeling guilty and after killing the crone, getting prepared to accept his fate - until Ciri teleports to him and gives him a purpose to live.
The developers would add in other important questions like:
-Who won the war: Redania or Nilfgaard
-Who Geralt is with: Triss, Yen or no one
-Who rules the skellige isles
-What happened to our favorite Bloody Baron?
The story could be set in kovir, Dwarf land, the arab land (people from DLC 1) and maybe even the heart of the (Milf)gaardian Empire - Sorry, i had to :D
I really do hope they make another Witcher trilogy, based in the same world with Ciri as the main character.
I share your sentiment. unfortunately from what I read, this will be the last of the trilogy. sad thing uncharted ended it's run too.
Matthew Norzan Last of the Geralt trilogy, yes. They said they will continue the Witcher as a series though. i just hope it's about Ciri and that Geralt can be a side character
@@fgvbg01 sad news boys that continued witcher universe is a fucking card game
@@hankhill4353 for now. they do intend to return to the universe with a proper game
This one makes me feel ill, given Ciri's relationship and feelings for Geralt.
Ciri will call Emhyr her "papa" in Blood and Wine if you get Ciri's empress ending
So suddenly, I don't feel bad anymore for Ciri if you decided to make Geralt sells her for money to Emhyr in the main game.
Calling Emhyr "papa" in front of Geralt is in the same level of heartless. He even reacts with a sad face.
Just some time as empress she is alredy calling Emhyr her "papa" and forgeting everything that her only and real dad Geralt did for her.
I thought "well, since im already here, and she is already here, might as well take the money, nothing changes if i say no..."
I guess Ciri disagreed... but what was i supposed to do? Throw away that much money just to prove a point?
IT WAS FREE MONEY OK? I CAN FEEL YOU JUDGING ME

I thought "well, since im already here, and she is already here, might as well take the money, nothing changes if i say no..."
So which ending did you got.
You deserve to taste the silver sword you monsters.
Ciri is so irrational. When someone offers you free money, you take it. The emperor has plenty to spare
I would say its honest hard earned money too for finding and rescueing ciri
Toss a coin to your witcher , oh valley of plenty...
The emperor is like richard harrison pawn stars.
"I'm offering you a hundred dollars reward for ciri and I still think it's a lot!"
I accepted the coin cause i was poor and didnt think she'd be pissed off, never doin that again
I took the money as a mistake this time.... The one bad decision I made that felt bad to me and I ended with the worst ending possible. Even though I had some amazing times at the end before ciri suddenly had a flashback of this. Ridiculous!

its about the implication. ciri is a person who has to expect to be used by anyone and everyone she meets, getting that same treatment from her "father" breaks her heart.
Would you take coin for finding your daughter? That's what Ciri is to Geralt.
If someone is willing to pay me, why not?
When O'Dimm lists the way to get Ciri alive in his reward for HoS mission, he weighs in on "don't make her feel she's been sold"

Oh my fucking god i can't believe i did this back in 2015

Stefan Stradowski I honestly think this make sense.... you play like a witcher who taking deals a complete it for money, without personal emotions .... like you always do or not ? 🤔
Martin Kosina Geralt is different
Think about it from her point of view. She never asks to see Emyhr, Geralt is the one who suggests it and even if he tells her to do as she feels, she still wants to know from Geralt what he feels she should do. And then after that, he takes the money. That makes it seem like the money was what mattered and why he wanted to take her to Emyhr. She'd be understandably hurt by that.
My heart sank at 4:31 when Geralt wouldn't make eye contact with her. It felt like their relationship was destroyed forever in that moment
Ciri: "STOP TREATING ME LIKE A GIRL. I'M GROWN UP"
