@@jessecarpenter6434 Eh, you can say mostly nothing and not be a dick about it. No snarky comebacks, but there's no real need to say much of anything. Give them your papers, comply, and move on. I'm pretty well behaved and I've had maybe only like 5 run ins with police (one of them was them crashing into me, even) and I've said next to nothing. Never received a ticket, never had any bad blood with the people who pulled me over. "Say nothing" doesn't always mean "be a dick" like those asshats who sit on the side of the road shouting over and over "am I being detained, I don't need to comply, blah blah blah."
"Am I free to go?" "Sir you ran over 10 people, crashed into a Wendy's, crashed into a bus station and then crashed into the back of my police car" "So am I free to go?"
True, but the distinction here is that he mentioned fighting it in court where as every sovereign citizen’s fantasy is to make the cop just give up in the middle of the traffic stop (that and getting lots of views on RUclips).
@rwdog Agreed. A guy like me won't divulge any information not asked for but will be honest to an officer. I was traveling in the mountains near Suzanville CA. I was driving my bosses car and it was gutless. I had the pedal to the floor going up a hill. When I got to the top of the hill my speed jumped to 77 just as a CHP passed by. She turned around and pulled me over. She asked if I knew why she pulled me over. I explained what happened and why I was speeding. She came back and wrote me a ticket. But she said she appriciated my honesty and wrote the ticket for being in a 65 which I was really in a 55. It would have made the ticket criminal at 55. So she gave me a break. If I attempted to feed her bs I would have been in handcuffs. There's a time to invoke your rights and there's a time to be honest. People just have a hard time determining the times. I do agree with you.
"Sir you're free to go" Too many people in body cam video's get this part wrong too. When you are free to go... Shut up and LEAVE! Way too common for people to talk themselves into an arrest after an officer has given them a chance to walk away.
5 seconds in and that exact question got me slammed into a driveway as a kid because i asked it after one cop told another to “deal with the cunt” which was my 15 year old gf. She also ended up getting arrested after asking where the hell her boyfriend went. The reason the cops were there; her mother suffered from a still undiagnosed disease where she retained water and weight and was like 600 pounds. We called the fire department to help us move her when she was sick. Cops showed up too, and they came over to us because we were a disturbance. We were asking them to help us move her, called a no emergency line

Law By Mike your voice sounds smoother than normal
Sounds like a great way to turn a 5 minute traffic stop into 8 hours at a police station and a 4 figure legal bill.
You forgot the medical bill for resisting.
@@strangelyukrainian7314 To get to the lawyer part you have already need to be detained and are being questioned for potentially incriminating stuff, so the encounter has already escalated.

Five things to say to a cop when you're pulled over: Nothing, nothing, nothing, nothing, and most importantly, nothing.
Well said😮
That’s a quick way to get detained for a good reason😂
That’s if you want to be a dick for no reason. If you did nothing wrong. Why prove there point that your guilty for whatever reason. Just be kind and easy going. If they aren’t nice back then it will bite them in the ass

I love when people know their rights.
It’s important to keep everyone above board.
Do not argue/try to fight on the side of the road. Comply and fight it in court. If you fight on the stop, it looks bad in court.

These questions are for sure our right to ask, BUT will immediately make the officer think you are a sovereign citizen.
If that makes the officer think that, he shouldn’t be carrying a badge and a gun
Mike's old videos are a lot more chill
"Sir you're free to go"
"I invoke the fifth"
Bro forgor the assignment
"Sir you're free to go" Too many people in body cam video's get this part wrong too. When you are free to go... Shut up and LEAVE!
Way too common for people to talk themselves into an arrest after an officer has given them a chance to walk away.
Exactly
5 seconds in and that exact question got me slammed into a driveway as a kid because i asked it after one cop told another to “deal with the cunt” which was my 15 year old gf. She also ended up getting arrested after asking where the hell her boyfriend went.
The reason the cops were there; her mother suffered from a still undiagnosed disease where she retained water and weight and was like 600 pounds. We called the fire department to help us move her when she was sick. Cops showed up too, and they came over to us because we were a disturbance.
We were asking them to help us move her, called a no emergency line
