@@tech4days162 I meant foldable devices that included both the Z Flip5 and Z Fold5. Both of them are in the category of Foldable smartphones. I wasn't specifically talking about the Z Fold. Z Flip5 has definitely gotten much better with a bigger flex window!
@tech4days162 I feel that they pushed too much of the boundaries in Fold 1 to Fold 2 such that they can't really do much else. Yes, you could say make it slimmer, but they haven't figured out a way to make it both slimmer like those china phones without losing the Flex Mode hinge with the water resistance. The thermals also suffer. Maybe they could've changed the aspect ratio but then there are people that much prefer the slightly slimmer cover screen. Plus this aspect ratio is perfect for work compared to that of Pixel Fold which while great for entertainment terrible for working due to its horizontal format.
Ah yes! Thanks to Samsung, other companies would finally make a teardrop hinge and bigger outer screen!

Impressive! I recently swapped my iPhone 14 Pro for the Z Flip 5 and managed to get $800 for the trade-in. The new Z Flip 5 only cost me $200! It's a great opportunity to explore cutting-edge technology that's not from Apple. Dynamic island is not the future. I'm tired of the candy bar style phone. Apple is simply not innovating anymore. Glad I joined the flipside❤

I have this phone and it's AMAZING!!! My favorite part of this phone is the new flex screen, it's like having 2 phones in 1! You can do anything on the flex screen and I love that❤❤❤
Writing from a Z Fold 5 , I am loving this new toy, I feel like a kid in Xmas, btw don't worry about the crease, when you use it and from the user's perspective you do not see it, but if you see it sideways you will notice it, but the truth is, noone never looks at their phone sideways.

As a Z Fold 4 owner, the Z Fold 5 isn't worth the upgrade, since it doesn't bring real innovation to the table, i was expecting larger screens, different aesthetics, S Pen integration etc... sure i like the new hinge mechanism, flat closing, the slightly better battery life and screen brightness but it's not enough.
Guess i'll keep mine and wait for the Z Fold 6 next year.
I'm waiting as well for all the reasons you listed, but also because even if you do a trade in of your zfold 4, you only get $1000 credit so you end up paying over $800 to upgrade. Absolute waste of money.

I did pre-order to upgrade my fold 4. I was really hoping for either new cameras and or upgraded charging speed. It does not look like they reduced the crease much either. Still going to be the best foldable available in the US, but a slightly disappointed.

Flip 5 should've gotten this outside screen update last year. Anyways, I'm not too impressed w/ the Z Fold 5. They could've at least added the S-Pen to where it was built in. Other than the Fold closing flat, it's really not too much different from the Fold 4 that I'm typing this comment on.

Fold 6 prob going to be better. Fold 4 & 5 are virtually the same. Main difference is different hinge. By the time Fold 6 comes, the Fold 9 is going to be the estimated suppose revolutionary time for folds since 7 & 8 are gonna follow a similar formula to 4 & 5.
I'm hoping they don't ever add a pen to the actual body of the fold phones. I don't ever use any pen features on any galaxy phone and I'm sure there are plenty others. I'd rather that just be an extra accessory on side if you REALLY want that. I'll be sad the day they decide to take up room out of the fold for pen space, leave it as an accessory
Well okay. I'll here again next year when there are more significant, meaningful, less marketing driven hyped improvements. The Watch 6 Classic and Tabs were the only truly good devices for me. That Tab S9 Ultra is definitely on my list!

I've had to have my Z Fold 4 replaced 4 times from Samsung off of defects... They don't charge me, but they also take their gd time getting me a replacement. Just a heads up to those considering these things.

@@kurtisrinker1202 I have the insurance through them so theyll mail me replacements, but I'm sure they were repairable. On my first claim they tried to send me to Samsung certified local repair shops but both I tried had no parts. Two had lines down the crease and wouldnt respond to touches. The other had a front screen that essentially died but would show static or work occasionally, supports said this was likely due to static electricity from being in my pocket without a case, but who knows how accurate that is. They're cool phones and if support was better I wouldn't be as bothered. Gonna go back to the Note next though, or S+ or whatever it's called now. Glad youre having a better experience than me though man!

They upgrade you to the larger memory for free and also give you an additional 50 dollar discount so you end up paying about 50 dollars for the upgrade. If you are a student, you can get an additional 10% discount and end up paying about $45 for the upgrade.

If Z fold 6 is the same as Z flip 5, the camera is on the same side. I will be super happy 😊.
The cover screen doesn't have to be so tall it can stay as it is same as Fold 5. Then on top the back camera will on top of the cover screen.
That way it can be flat when placed on the table while folded or even in flex mode 😊. Hopefully someone sees this 😢.
