It looks like a dropped D tuning capoed up two frets. This makes it a natural for the base line but tricky to play the rest of it, though Brian is clearly quite comfortable with it. I guess it is all about being chord conversant with the alternate tuning. Nice to see the solo played low on the neck - much more acoustic friendly than the second octave version played on the original. I made it a mission to learn how to play this song when a friend of mine got into trouble and lost his freedom. Very pertinent lyrics. Now if only I could play and sing it as well as Brian…
That's freaky-good guitar playing. Wish I could do that. Thanks for the clarity of the vid on your hands, which demonstrates why I can't! I will still learn something from it. This is a very favorite record, and I agree with you about the guitar break. What is the lyric---a reverse torch song? May I ask what the tuning is? (I don't use anything more sophisticated than a drop-D, so go nuts trying to figure out what I am looking at.) I will look forward to more from you. P.S., I expect I was no spring chicken when you were but a gleam in your mother's henhouse.
Great job love the open tunings.
That was Great Brother Man! Rockin......
Incredible version! Thank you Brian! Would love to get it from Apple Music 🎶
Wow! Excellent!
Nice guitar adaptation. Voice sounds good too. I'd pay money to see you play.
