You can see why SRAM developed UHD… they’re rear derailleurs put too much side tension on hangers. I guess SRAM are demising components rather than re-engineer them - FD and hanger gone… my guess is they will be busy trying to kill off the RD 😂
One of the best bike tech videos I've ever seen on RUclips so far. If not the best at all. Found it because I looked for a solution for my newly built hardtail setup with SRAM GX Eagle and a Garbaruk cassette. Couldn't find the issue on the bike stand but when riding the shifting was a mess. I already wondered if the cassette or frame had manufacturing issues or even if something's wrong with the (used but good) rear wheel. In the end I opened the chain and found that I've shortened it by only ONE (!) link too much. Riding now with two links as well as one of your customers but happy with it! Shifting is fine after the chain length was corrected.
fantastic video and information, now i am more confident about servicing the drive train myself and also have the knowledge to know if i dont do it myself if a LBS knows what they are talking about. Thank you very much for your time and knowledge!
This is so helpful. I have been very happy with my SRAM 1x12 on my Commencal and you have added to this. Thank you again for your tutorials. P.S. I wrote the following on another of your YT postings. Due to a failing hub, I am replacing my rear wheel & hub and cassette. In the beginning, 4 years ago, I bought my full suspension Commencal which had a GX crank, but NX transmission. I immediately pulled the NX derailleur off the back and replaced with GX and a GX twist shifter. I have been very happy with the results. The SRAM 1x12 with 50t has been a real joy. I have been reading and watching reviews and see very few comparing the 10-50 vs the 10-52 and I not found a definitive answer of whether I should stay with 10-50 or move to 10-52. It just seems that the jump to 52t opens up some extra complications and resulting problems, and I would be receiving little help in my riding. Do you or others have an opinion?I wrote the following on another of your YT postings
Thats exactly why I dont want sram on my bike… it is so fiddly fiddly.. microshift advent would survive a volcano eruption and still shift correctly. My shimano 11sp is also much better in reliability than this overpriced sram stuff…
Hi, thanks for all your videos, want to ask you about LinkGlide 11 speed 11-50 cassette on an eBike, all components Deore XT 8130, do you have any experience with it, I'm strugling to have a nice shift but even with the b-screw with the correct gap, chain length, new cable and derailure hanger ok, I still have the derailure strugling to go up.
Great video and lots of examples. 1. cable wear via shifter push, chain wear using guage, cable tenison at derailleur. 2. Derailleur hanger probably bent. 3. Lowest/largest cog. Shimano would be similar?
I can hardly wait to watch and rewatch this when the rain begins and our 8 year old precious Granddaughter goes home. 😊 P.S. I am serious - your tutorials are always so helpful. 😅
I installed Eagle on 3 different frames. I made sure the hanger is straight and used the B Gap tool. No issues whatsoever. I was even able to backpedal without dropping chain.

AWESOME Video - thanks so much ... I'd love to see a series like that for Shimano 1x12 drivetrains ...
Thank you so much for your videos, they are extremely precise and useful. I simply love them. Keep up with the good work!!!
Great! Informative. Takes the whole system in consideration. I will try this checklist next time i have trouble.
Thank you for the checklist and many examples. Very, very clear and memorable.
you should do same video with Shimano :-)

But no one asked
Don't like 12speed either. So many problems with shifting
4:25 so how to without it?
great video!

What kind of hanger tool is that? Looks much cheaper and more handy than Parktool one!
Acordin to parktool this chain checker is not appropriate to check eagle chains. For eagle chains you should use the cc-4 to check its wear.
Is #4 a twist shifter? Does this make a difference in checking the cable and the other adjustments?
Great video content with very good description 👍 Please more of that!
Could you make a video installing rigid fork on it? Thanks!
Any suggestion when you don't have the b-gap tool?
WOW! 😱.
Such good insight into this important mechanical working.
Thank you.
P.S. I hope that you get over your illness long before your next ride.
Where did you get the measurement tool?
When adjusting B-gap on fs bike, any tricks to get sag set for adjustment?
Release air from the dropper, lower the bike stand clamp over standing bike, so that it won't rise.

That's the advantage of reading the manuals and doing things accordingly. 👌
Good knowledge sharing Danny. Thx
Could you share some more knowledge regarding bearing maintenance
Great video thanks
That's a sweet hardtail
