What a trove of tips and suggestions! Thank you Taz and Liam. Surely makes me want trying more hand painting of my gunpla. So far I only did paint details by brush…
"I like the dropper bottles they come in." ... I totally see myself in that. (They're good paints too, but the dropper bottles is why I started and will continue to use them) Actually the reason I hand paint is kind of what you found, it's more personal. If your goal is "I want paint on model" you can dunk it in paint and call it a day. But something about layering the paint myself is why I even want to paint my models. It's personal.
Flat Brushes are incredibly useful for Gunpla in my opinion. Gunpla typically has a bunch of "flat" surfaces so the flat brushes help speed that process along.
If I paint I will either get cat hair if I paint indoors or pollen if I paint outdoors in my paint 😂😂😂😂 boo! Great video, I’m just starting gunpla- when I was younger I painted some cute warhaommer figures (goblins orcs etc -loved the orc hoppers)
Just got into the gunpla hobby, and I feel like some gundam color was not to my liking. Really appreciate the video for me to start hand painting gunpla
you know, I primed a batch of parts a couple of days ago. you know, they were the last few parts on the kit, it been raining for days and I had the itch to do some modelling. 😅 I avoid hand priming parts like the plague otherwise. 😂
I once hand painted a kit so well that you couldn't tell it was hand painted. Fast forward to the present, I can't replicate that level. Most likely because I no longer have the brush I had.
If your going for a perfect/even look, better to just spray it on. I like to handpaint gunpla for a used/weathered look. Have you tried using flow improver? It helps to even out the paint when hand painting.
While Valejo has a good line of paints, the company is pretty awful with things they've done with abusing international copyright and trademark law to, essentially, steal things. And as a major note, even with handpainting, unless you want to pay for metal primer options, a spray can or similar is necessary for a model that you're painting over photo etched parts. Acrylics and most of the brush on primers normally used get wonky there with pooling and adhering issues
Thanks for featuring me and my monotone rambles ha ha. Glad I could help you get started with Gunpla hand-painting!
Don't EVER stop the monotone rambles! I love that about your channel!
Thanks again for coming in my channel and I appreciate all the lesson you taught me. 😁
Monotone voices are the best voices. ✊🏾
What a handsome lad! It gives me subtle Piet Mondrian vibes.
Also Liam is there.
Liam is definitely here 🤣🤣🤣
Nice work, TAZ! I was never able to figure out how to hand paint larger areas without them looking like a mess.
Haha. Hope this helps whatever amazing project you crank out next!
AH! I'm so glad the algorithm put your channel on page! I love M.M.! I'm gonna sub to you as well!
I appreciate the love and support! Liam is a great friend of mine 😁
Great work my friend, both in the video and the kit
Thanks dude! Can't wait to see your next release!

Good times. I’m doing a hand paint on the HG Clear color Varguil.

Morbin' ain't half as cool as hand painting Gunpla. 😆

@@csmit04 I have not. I have used spray paint before for a few customs in the past and they are much better.
why does liam look like morbius
You mean, why does Morbius look like Liam? 🤣

Agreed, lacquer with brush is a big no..
Is it doable? Yes, is it advisable? Nah 🤣
Bro thats morbius, of course he's a he/him..😅
Morbius WISHES he was as cool as Liam.
@@PlamoTherapist nyahaha, poor morbius for not playing gunpla. Btw you handpaint using enamels right?
Nope, these were all vallejo! I'll have a full build video together soon. 😁
@@PlamoTherapist valejjo i believe its acrilyc?
Yep! Per Liam's recommendation!
