    The 1980's music will never be over lljames2. That music brought so many things to current music that are still being used to this day.

    @sleepconvention:
    AGREED - A GENIUS. Saw him live in December 2005 - and this was among my favorite pieces he performed that evening. He is a very talented (not to mention handsome) fellow and I only hope I am fortunate enough to see him play live again one day. He also has a wonderful sense of humor during his shows. And SO intense. Another great work of his GENIUS = "One of Our Submarines".

    The Golden Age of Wireless was a Revolutionary album at the begining of the 80s and Thomas Dolby was a one man musical force!

    Have been watching this performance of WINDPOWER on and off for the last 27 years as I recorded it on my (then) new VCR from TOTP. It remains one of the best performances I ever saw on the programme and is an amazing song! Hope you are well Thomas and look forward to hearing new material.

    If i remember rightly a little while before this track became a single he performed the track on the David Essex showcase.Think it was around early 1982ish. Loved this track & i think the b-side was flying north...Ah yeah happy days...

    @piffle64 That wasn't strictly true, though. He invented the ringtone synthesizer and played the version you hear on the phones but the composer was Francisco Tarrega and it was lifted from a tune called Gran Vals. You probably knew that already but I thought I'd mention it as some people say he actually composed it.

    Country-wrecking wind turbines don't deserve an anthem, even though I know this isn't really about them.
