I couldn't tell you how many times I drove the strip in my small Midwestern town blasting this. Windows down, drinking a Budweiser singing as loud as the other 5 people in the car at 1 in the AM! True story folks!
Same here, but a few years later, this and other songs cruising the strip in a small Kentucky town. Spending all my money on cars, stereo systems, Budweiser in the returnable bottles, Bourbon, and women. We had a drive in and still do, plenty of field paries and guys settled their differences like men, shaking hands and having a drink together afterwards. I could go on and on about good times. I'm glad I have the memories. Most people, especially kids these days will never know! I'm 50 now, but the memories were like yesterday!
I could listen to this song once a day for the rest of my life it never gets old with me. I'm burned out on a lot of bands from the 60's and 70's but I will always love this one !!!
Great to hear... In the days when the live sound balance meant we could hear and appreciate Manfred's mastery of the keyboard. Sadly drowned out a little when I last saw in Dellingen a couple of months ago...
Bad sound engineer,I retired some time ago and a lot of the new ones have no reference point apart from compressed files.I remember hearing one guys efforts and it sounded just like an apple ipod on overload.
First time hearing this back in 1975 on American forces radio. Lived in Bad Kissingen. My dad was stationed at Daley Barracks. Hear it almost every day on the radio station i listen to in Portland, Oregon.
Just found this a few days ago. Amazing. Killed the keyboard, vocals got smashed and the entire building had the roof blow TF off. Loved the extended intro, keyboard solo and crowd work. Would love to be a fly on the wall during this!!!😎😎😎😎
The long version of this song was the first song I heard on the little radio my mother turned over to me when she got her big new stereo!🫤 My introduction to rock and roll!😎
🎉❤🎉 Merry Christmas and Happy New Year of love for music happenings & good vibes of a kind, never stop believe in guys, fans love youuuuu, what a great track this one❤🎉❤
How old is this performance? This is in my all-time top 10. This is what awesome sounds and looks like. The significance of this lot is humongous they are a cultural iceberg. If they were of merchantable quality I might even sell a kidney to see them play live like this. I missed the warm-up gig they played at The Penthouse before they started a European Tour and I have regretted it ever since. I'm kicking myself under the table right now. Awesome, Legend is just inadequate. Sound Magic and I mean MAGIC
Outstanding talented group of musicians one of the few I didn't take the opertunity to see in concert😢 growing up in the suburbs of the motor city shame on me
F'in Minimoog kills the mix... Cuts like a hot knife through already melting butter... 🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂 Had my headphones on when listening to this, pierced my eardrums, had to take the overall volume down twice.... 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Song is a Bruce Springsteen composition. “Quinn the Eskimo” was a Bob Dylan composition. I don’t know who wrote “Doo Wah Ditty Ditty” but I love the band’s renditions of all 3.
This singer is singing "wrapped up", but in retrospect, Chris sounded like he was singing "douche" (it was even brought up, jokingly, by "the Boss", himself), but I definitely agree that Chris' voice was perfect for the song.
Noel Mc Calla wonderful singer (also listen on Mike Rutherford's album "smallcreep's day"). To me, best MMEB singer alongside with the great Chris Thompson !
This is very excellent! Always loved this song! (Apparently Mr Springsteen doesn't like Manfred's version) No disrespect intended when i ask, how many original members are left in tge band? Can anyone tell me?
Man! Those of us that lived thru the 70s had arguably the best music!!! Life was a heck of a lot simpler! Miss those days!!!
Outstanding, reminds of a time back before life got complicated
You get that right 100%.
I couldn't tell you how many times I drove the strip in my small Midwestern town blasting this. Windows down, drinking a Budweiser singing as loud as the other 5 people in the car at 1 in the AM! True story folks!

And was written by Springsteen!

I could listen to this song once a day for the rest of my life it never gets old with me. I'm burned out on a lot of bands from the 60's and 70's but I will always love this one !!!

How great it is to hear this again! Glad to have grown up in the 70's.
"Roaring Silence" one of the best albums of all time in my book !!!!

Amazing vocalist. Always loved this song and he adds a new dimension. Love it.
Awesome! That's our youth! ❤👏👏👏
One of the best bands live that I’ve ever seen
Saw them play live twice, once at an open air festival in 1986 and again a couple years back at an indoor concert.
My sister had this song on an album called Music Machine in the 70’s I wore this track out!
One of my favorite tunes of the 70's, saw them live in Stockholm, "Grona Lund" 1977 with all the original bandmembers, class !
Seriously awesome!

Recorded 1999 for German TV show ' Ohne Filter'
Happy Birthday Manfred Mann 🎉.
Recording someone else song is the ultimate compliment. Off of one of Springsteen’s best, Greetings from Asbury Park NJ ☮️💜
Outstanding talented group of musicians one of the few I didn't take the opertunity to see in concert😢 growing up in the suburbs of the motor city shame on me
fantastic
IMO This song should get a lot more attention, recognition and praise versus the trash some people hold in higher regard. 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
Wow. Love this version of Blinded By The Light. Thank You.
This is the first single I ever bought as a kid. I get a thrill every time I hear this version.
Brings back tons of memories from my teen years

OUTSTANDING ARTISTES
Me insane keyboards player waoooo ! Nostalgia ! I am 70 now

Proudly South African ❤
I tripped the merry go round in the 1970s they were some good years
That's Music ❤❤
Wonderful ❤
I saw them do this song on the original tour for it in Baltimore.
Happy Birthday!
@@alex_chernyshov Уже и не помню...

Super!!!
Noel was not the original singer but the back up singer. He was also the back up singer for the song Drivers Seat by Sniff’n the Tears
🤘😔🎸 One band ... zero ego (or at least they locked it up for the night ✌️😋 hehe)
awesome.....
I think this singer actually IS singing "wrapped" up like a deuce. 🤨🙄
Chris Thompson's voice was PERFECT for the song!!
This singer is singing "wrapped up", but in retrospect, Chris sounded like he was singing "douche" (it was even brought up, jokingly, by "the Boss", himself), but I definitely agree that Chris' voice was perfect for the song.
*revved up like a deuce
And a few props to the boss
Noel Mc Calla wonderful singer (also listen on Mike Rutherford's album "smallcreep's day"). To me, best MMEB singer alongside with the great Chris Thompson !

This is very excellent! Always loved this song! (Apparently Mr Springsteen doesn't like Manfred's version)
No disrespect intended when i ask, how many original members are left in tge band? Can anyone tell me?
