Unlike most unboxings, this one provides the story behind the release, which is so lovely. Thank you. I've also received mine, it spent a few hours under horrible hail/thunderstorm on my doorstep. Everything got soaking wet and effectively disintegrated, however the record itself hasn't been damaged. It's safe and dry. Turns out that this plastic shrinkwrap, that always looks quite porous, in fact is not.

I have just listened to one hand clapping Album , and I absolutely love the Album , I listened to it on Spotify , why you may ask , my vinyl & cd had not arrived . I brought the double which included the 7inch single & I also brought the double CD as well , so I hope to receive the double vinyl & the 7inch single & double CD today ( Monday 17th ) . I just listened through it. Paul is in top vocal form, and the band is fantastic. There is also a very interesting version of "Tomorrow" which is MUCH better than the one who ended up on "Wild life" I have also read a couple of the reviews, and the reviews i`ve seen so far has been very good. Rolling Stone magazine praised it just to mention one of the reviews.
Glad you are enjoying it. Me too. Yes Tomorrow I understand was a favourite of Linda's dad so he tried this slowed down version. It's great. We should all be very happy with this release

According to the booklet with this MPL have an archive manager and a catalogue manager so hopefully they are working on London Town and Back to the Egg. Even if we don't get a mega box like Flaming Pie for either or both of these some form of package such as Band on the Run Underdubbed for them would suit me, just to get them back in print and in the public eye again as they seem to have been almost forgotten outside of Paul's fan community. And a Venus and Mars 50 next year with a cleaned up mix as Team Lennon are said to have done on Mind Games would be great as well!
Well this might be the way they are going now maybe ? Replacing expensive box sets with more affordable packages who knows. There will definitely me a a Venus & mars half speed master next year, whether it will get a remix I doubt it, but I hope it does because it needs it

I've got the bootleg years ago and I always found a lot of these tracks better than the studio originals, but, I've always preferred rougher live recordings for rock 'n' roll. Tomorrow, Wild Life, Junior’s Farm, Jet, Go Now and Maybe I'm Amazed are just grittier and more exciting than the originals IMHO. And having them remastered/remixed, is a great welcome addition. Excellent sound, 100 times better than those old bootlegs..
Oh yes for sure. the sound quality is amazing and like you say a lot of the songs are more robust. I like Maybe Im amazed on this but I dont like it so much with the electric piano rather than a normal one. The Wings over America is the best version of that song for me
Played disk 1 this evening - it’s just so nice to have new versions of favourite classics. (One or two tracks of half finished takes of new songs and covers - and the 45 disks - could have better been used as bonus content on a deluxe boxset version). 👍

I have been one of those on the fence about buying OHC thinking that I had most of the stuff between what has come out officially on past Archive Editions & older unofficial releases. I received my 2LP/1EP of One Hand Clapping today and my first impression is that that configuration of Wings was a very professional and powerful rock band. Maybe the zenith of their creativity as they were a band in the truest sense and not just backing for Paul.
Yes I agree. It really sounds on this record that its a band firing one all cylinders . The gusto of a new members trying to impress the boss.

Looking forward to your review Tone! I’ve listened once to my vinyl and thoroughly enjoyed it, apart from a couple of ‘pops’ on the vinyl (can’t remember which side, I wonder if yours has it too?) Paul’s vocals are great and it’s so good to hear fresh versions of songs I’ve known for decades. I quite like the fact the ep is not available in other formats as it makes that vinyl LP version unique for an extra fiver.
Thanks Paul. Im happy to say that mine is perfect but sorry to hear yours has some pops. Try giving it a little clean with some fluid and a microfibre cloth, it may clear the pops. If not and it's too annoying to live with, contact Pauls website and tell them. I had a similar issue with the Wild life Half Speed Master and they just sent me out a new one and didnt even ask for the old one back so it was nice and easy. Review should be up early next week - Spoiler - I'm loving it too
Listening to the album is a very pleasant experience. I am glad it has been released.

I've played mine through now (2xLP). "Nice to have but inconsequential" was how I was feeling as I started to listen but that changed to "flawed but fab" by the end. I'll spare you a track by track opinion but here's some immediate thoughts:
1. Packaging could have been more generous - it's very stripped back and doesn't need to be given Paul's/MPL's archive.
2. I wish that the C Moon/Little Woman Love tracks were here in full, rather than as a short medley.
3. I'm not a fan of My Love but the version here is (IMHO) better than the RRS one.
4. Loved these versions of Sally G, Tomorrow and Wildlife.
5. I wish he'd done to the tracks on RDR what he does here with a great rendition of Blue Moon of Kentucky.
6. Stand out track (for me) among several belters is Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five, which is superb.
Hi Rob, yes the packaging is not great but I have a theory on that , that I will be discussing in my review. I also really loved Tomorrow and Wild Life here and Blue Mopopn is great and as you know Im not a great fan of covers. All the rockers ...well rock for me love them all. Ive always thought that the little piano part in between the verses of Little Woman Love sound like the theme tune to Film 81,82,82 etc with Barry Norman. Do you remember that/agree with it?

I am hoping my copy has arrived for when I'm home, I take nothing for granted with Pat and deliveries! Loved the video mate and all the comments. Wetted my appetite further. Like yourself Tone I opted for the 2 CD and the 2 LP with the EP. I immediately burned the CD to my pc and then put the album onto my phone and my I-Pod. Been listening to it most of today while I've been working and I love it. These mixes sound so fresh and vibrant, almost like being there. Current favourite track being Jet, which is a favourite song of mine because of the numerous times I've heard Paul play this when I've gone to his gigs, and it always sounds superb, but on here it's like it's taken on a whole new life, and it's of a live quality like never before to my ears. Later on over the weekend I will be playing my vinyl set and the E.P. My only gripe with the vinyl is this habit of albums being released and both discs get crammed into one sleeve, why no gatefold? In time this album sleeve will begin to show signs of wear with repeated playing. Is this Record Companies being skinflints with the packaging? It's been done with the three double album sets by Susanna Hoffs and Matthew Sweet., and we had a bit of this last year with the red and blue cramming three discs into a double gatefold. Any how aside from this I am V. Pleased with this album, and it will be getting a lot of time on my turntable that's for sure. Looking forward to your in depth review Tone, and thanks for this unboxing vid. Here's a handy tip; when I open the shrink wrap on vinyl albums I use a guitar pick, it's quick, easy and you can never damage the record as you could with a knife or pair of scissors.
It's funny Terry, because my missus read your comment earlier and grabbed the CD to go and burn it on to her phone as she's going out tomorrow ! Im loving this album too and like you say these versions of some the songs sound so robust and ..well ROCK. Did you think Jet was faster than the normal version, it seems it to me? Agree about the packaging as well. I was wondering if the sparse cover art and white labels on the LPs were to give the record a sort of bootleg vibe as this is how this thing began life - just a thought but I really dont like 2 LPs stuff in one hole and I will be addressing that in my review. Thanks for the tip I have a little tin of Beatles picks right here on my desk whihc I never use as they are to heavy for my acoustic and now I have a use for them - cheers. @@beatleytonesbeatleschannel The thing that first grabbed me about some of the tracks, was they had a kind of Friday night Pub Band vibe to them. You'll go down the local and there's a really good band on playing some great 60's and 70's tunes and they ROCK! Jet sounds faster and more stripped down and raw and Paul's vocals are on top form throughout the entire album. It's also a great record of a new line up of Wings jamming and recording together for the first time. Wonder if there's anything in the vaults of the Wings line up from Back to the Egg in a similar vein that we haven't heard before. Talking of Back To The Egg, still holding out for an archive edition.....
@@terrymann1341 As the drummer in a pub band I'll take that as a compliment Terry 😂 But yes they were on fire and Paul's vocals are outstanding. There are quite a few unreleased songs from the BTTE sessions for sure . if we ever get this archive release it could be a bumper package with unreleased songs and loads of live material from the Glasgow gig and Concert for kampuchea from December 1979. Whether this ever sees the light of day is another matter but it has the potential to be a terrific set

@@Zholobov1 As a drummer myself, I wouldn't say that he's as good as Joe English or Denny Sewell, he's a little over elaborate and busy sometimes songs that dont really require that sort of flamboyancy but he is solid on most of these sessions, but fr me the whole band are on fire in these session, especially on the rockers
A lot of artists are releasing 7” add ons or a one side only 12”. Love vinyl for non-live recordings but prefer CDs for live, since I don’t have to flip it. Did pre-order this from Paul’s official site.

Thanks Tone, this one feels like it’s been a long time coming. My copy of the vinyl with 7” is due to arrive early next week, so hopefully I’ll have had a chance to play it before you drop your review. I must say reading the McCartney Legacy post yesterday definitely increased my anticipation for this and I am looking forward to hearing the new versions.
If I have a quibble, it’s probably with the packaging. Maybe we are getting spoilt by the archive and anniversary sets, but my first impression of this one is that it’s a bit plain and sparse, and in the absence of a DVD, could have lent itself to a nice booklet of photos perhaps.
Hope you enjoyed the break. Looks like you got some sunshine. We just got lots of wind and rain during our trip to Western Australia but enjoyed it nonetheless. (And by the way, what you call a red heads tan over there, is just an Englishman’s tan down here 😂).

I think the thinking behind the sparse packaging may be to give it sort of bootleg vibe as that's how this thing started off life. I havent read that, just that was my take on it but like you I would have liked something a bit more luxurious. if you have the BOTR Archive Box set, the DVD of the sessions is on that but it needs cleaning up for sure. Yeah had a great week in Cyprus , very chilled but very hot if that's not a contradiction . 😂 to the Englishman's tan. Shame about the weather in WA but glad you had a good time anyway. I think it is limited but im not sure how many it's limited to. You can only get the LP with the 7" from Paul McCartney.com though, it's not available elsewhere. Because the album is getting such great reviews it wouldn't surprise me if there is run on this album so I would say, if you can afford to get it now go and grab one. If you cant just put one in your basket and see how long they let you keep it there before they ask you to complete the purchase - but yourself a little time if you dont have the spare cash now. I think I keep hype stickers just because everybody else does , I cant recall ever going back and looking at them but I will contiunue to do it hahah Thanks again for a great comment

I don’t know why I keep the stickers - I suppose I think of it as part of the release, like any inserts that come with it. I don’t like it when they don’t come off very well; what I tend to do then is cut around them carefully with a scissors and just pop it inside the CD cover to keep it safe. (But then as my Wife would tell you, I am a massive nerd!) 😂

No I only got 2 of the variations. I didnt get the 2 Lp version without the EP as there is no point haha. Loving this album though , some terrific versions of familiar songs that somehow sound more robust as if the new members are trying to impress the boss. It seems Paul is a little tetchy as well about this.Probably quite rightly.But for me, it's just for fun! No more. No less.I have already burned my single disc version of the album, and what will more than likely happen, is after playing it a few times, it will make me go back and re listen, and re appreciate the original.So there is a method to my personal madness.But I get i!.For many, this is sacrilege.To each his or her own.By the way my list is close to yours. The tables have turned. remember when Cds first came out (of course you do) and old albums were released with bonus tracks on them to persuade us to buy albums that we already owned on CD. And this is when Cds cost twice as much as records. Nothing has changed really, it's always been a marketing ploy it's just that vinyl is the king of the castle again. Im not condoning it I agree that both formats should be identical but even as recently as the White Album SDE the CD version had way more stuff on it than the vinyl version of the box set. Mine should arrive tomorrow. I'm disappointed it's not a gatefold because I'm not a fan of multiple records and odd-sized inserts all stuffed together. The plain label design and the timing of the release make me wonder if this and the underdubbed BOTR were originally conceived as a single 50th anniversary deluxe package of BOTR.
No Im a fan of stuffing 2 records in one hole either. Im guessing the idea behind the plain packaging and white labels is to give it some sort of bootleg vibe which is how this thing started out. Still the music inside is bloody brilliant. I dont really consider this to be part of the BOTR set more a stand alone thing
My 2CD set was due to be delivered today, now it’s due possibly sometime next week ? Same thing happened with my preorder of BOTR previously. Eventually I got msg that there were no further stocks apart from via 3rd party sellers at exorbitant prices.

@@Andy1962-in-Kinross Yeah I dont know what's the matter with them. they always used to deliver pre-orders on release day. The first time they failed with this was for the Revolver box set. Obviously it's important for us you tubers to have the album on release date so we can get our videos done. I need up cancelling with amazon and just going to my nearest HMV store and buying it there on the day. Ive ordered the Bowie Rock n Roll Star box set which was also released today from Amazon and its coming on Tuesday . It's not so important for me to have a bowie box on release day so I let it go. Very annoying that you havent got yours set yet especially when the point of pre orders is so they gauge the demand and get the stock in and send it out grrrrr
It's always fun unboxing new music, and of course the music is the most important thing. But, I gotta say, the packaging and design for this is pretty plain.

Hi Tone, i don't like the cardboard of the album seems to thin, i don't like the fact that a double album comes in a single cover & the non inclusion of the E.P on the cd is a wonder i'll never get. Rant over then coz the music's great
There is no excuse for the 7" to not be on the CD, I think both formats should be identical . Remember when Cds first came out and old albums were released with bonus tracks on them to persuade us to buy albums that we already owned on CD. And this is when Cds cost twice as much as records. Nothing has changed really, it's always been a marketing ploy it's just that vinyl is the king of the castle again so the tables have been reversed. Im not condoning it but even as recently as the White Album SDE the CD version had way more stuff on it than the vinyl version of the box set. I think with the packaging they have gone for a kind of bootleg vibe which I will talk about in my review but I also dont like the 2 records stuffed in one hole thing. But the music held within ... WOW !

Looking forward to receiving mine tomorrow. We always seem to be a day behind over here (at least in the mid-west). I love getting all these great editions from Paul but does this really mean the archive editions are dead? I hope not! Hoping this is just to preserve the copyright in the these recordings. What do you think? Also, sad to see that Scotland match. Ugh! I know as an England fan i am meant to be cheering Scotland's downfall but i just can't. I know, i know, Scotland fans pray for England's defeat and rejoice when it happens, but i just can't do that. Germany looked very very good though... incredible passing accuracy and pace.
Enjoy it when it comes Nick. You are not going to be disappointed with this - it's brilliant. Andy at 2 legs thinks it is but Im still hanging on to hope that they finish the series but Im going to discuss this in my review video. Im the same with Scotland , I enjoy the rivalry but I always want the home nations to do well even though most of their fans want us to fail. One of my best chums is Scottish and he supports England when Scotland go out. That was a really tough start for them but I really hope they can turn it around and get out of the group and qualify this time.

@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel well Amazon surprised me. First they said Friday, then Wednesday. Late last night got a message saying arriving early on Saturday. Was on my doorstep at 10:00 am this morning! So I at least have the CD now. Video will be up soon.

Yes Jet is way faster than the studio version as well Paul. Makes a difference having a proper drummer playing the parts

In the US though, they sent out the merch immediately after ordering and well before the album was released. A bit annoying but I'd rather have the music on time than the merch so im not too bothered about it
CDs can hold 70+ minutes of music. CD collectors are getting let down by not including the songs from the 7" single. That's infuriating!

They are simply trying to get CD buyers to also purchase the vinyl set. I think it’s a great marketing strategy. It’s all about maximizing their profit margin. It’s just smart business. Buy both versions and be done with it, for Christ’s sake.

Ever since CDs were introduced I stopped buying vinyl. I paid more for CDs for years.
Ordered vinyl and cd , shame the Extra track's are not on cd. Let's hope Back to the Egg and London Town are in the pipeline.
Have listened to it on streaming and won’t be purchasing it on physical media.
