Although I've got the Imagine and Plastic Ono Band deluxe sets I don't own the Mind Games album and always believed it to be one of the lesser albums in the canon, but seeing Andrew's video last week persuaded me to place an order for it with my local independent retailer in Brentwood, Essex, so the strategy of sending copies to You Tubers such as yourself and Andrew not only rewards your loyal fandom but is also an effective way of putting across to "waverers" like me what you're getting for your £s here. If I don't want further analysis of the content itself I can always come back to your video once I've got my own copy and formed my own thoughts. Keep up the good work, all the best

I will be getting the 6 CD, 2 bluray set and the additional book too. I will probably also be getting the maps of Liverpool and Tokyo. We were lucky enough to visit Japan earlier this year, so this will be a nice addition to our holiday memories. There were quite a few places in Tokyo and Japan with Beatles connections that we were able to take in such as the Budokan, Tokyo Dome, and Hiroshima (we got to stand in George's footsteps by the Peace Bell).
Thank you for the unboxing, that has whetted my appetite for 12th July. Look forward to your review of the music too.
I think that this is going to be a very special set. The album is perhaps the first one that I remember being released when I was in a position to actually go out under my own steam and buy.
Never sure why it seems to get some negativity. I have always liked the album and from what I have heard from the promo files released so far we are in for a real treat with the various mixes and additional hidden tracks.

I’m getting the Deluxe box, 2 LP and 2 CD. I wasn’t planning on the 2 CD at first, but with what I’m finding out more and more on this, guessing each version has more and more clues. I can’t afford the clues in the Cube though.

Out of John's solo catalog, Mind Games probably suffered the most from a muddy and uneven mix masking some of John's best songs. And like you, I'm still hoping for a STINYC box. Definitely an underappreciated album.

i have listened to the album disc and the mix is lovely. The disc has to be switched off manually at the end i.e The Nutopian National Anthem never ends. The disc carries on spinning and does not shut off automatically, at least on my portable CD player. I am delighted the album is being presented in this light as it proves how underrated the album has been held over the years.
Yes I agree Duncan that this new remix has given the album a new lease of life and sounds fantastic . My disc 1 doesnt keep spinning at the end btw . Glad you are enjoying it

Box looks beautiful. I’m only purchasing the two disc set. I can stream those other tracks which I doubt I’ll listen to more than once.

made up for you that you received a freebee (well deserved). I am not in to the mind games for ultra violet lights or puzzles or whatever, but only for the music. A little disappointed the bonus tracks I believe can only be heard via blueray which I do not have, but I have lived without them nearly 65 years so what you've never had etc. Looking forward to the set, after a few listens, will rip them to my Brennan B2 along with the other 16k plus tracks to play at random. Great video as always.

I bought the plastic one band when it was £60. I think that's what they are worth. Imagine is hovering around £80 and thats still too much. So I won't be getting mind games anytime soon. Pleased for you though and pretty much everyone else I follow. Surprised there's any stock left. 😂
Thank you David . Unfortunately times have moved on post covid. POB was around £90 when it came out in 2021, but just like everything else in life, the price of box sets has gone up. I recently bought the Bowie box rock n roll Star £150 for 5 cds 1 blu-ray and a book, Mind games is 6CDs 2 Blu rays and a book £130 £20 less and more content , so at todays prices it's still decent value I think.

So they squeezed every possible configuration they could make of the music on.as many cds as possible..more money ? I don't need mega versions I'll play once and the box sits on the shelf collecting dust..how often will you play those except for the remixed album itself..? I'll buy the 2cd. I.have various copies from other countries little differences on.them.too
sounds like you dont really understand the concept of the Ultimate mixes series. That is the whole point, to give different mixes of the songs on the album. nothing to do with squeezing every configuration for money. The Lennon estate has more money than they could spend in 1,000 lifetimes. however I agree that this sort of set is really only for hard-core fans, if you think you'd never play them the 2 Cd option is the right one for you Bob.

I have told you I often go to Mind Games now for my John fix. have been since the CD came out in 2002. Plastic Ono Band might be his best, but like I said, I have to be in the mood for that album. Hello Tone, the Seats are up in the 400 Section of the O2 😂 I set myself a limit of around £300 per ticket and accepted that whatever that got me I’d accept. I managed to get through the Q pretty quickly and chose ‘Best Available’ when it was my turn, which turned out to be £125 (plus just over £20 per ticket in add ons) up in the gods. But as you say, at least I’m seeing him (albeit from a distance)

Mind games was one if the first albums i ever bought. I always thought ut was one of his better albums. I like this more than "Walls and bridges" It was especially an improvement from "Some time in New York City" Songs like "Mind games" "Out the blue" "Intuition" and "Tight A$" are very good songs. I also like the other tracks. I am surprised it didn`t do better commercially. It only got to no.13 in the U.K. and no.9 in the U.S. It had deserved to be a top three album in both the UK and US.
I also think this new remix, which is stunning, will people a new appreciation of Mind Games . It's a much better album than people think it is

I think it`s better than "Walls and bridges" It`s definitely more commercial, even though "Walls and bridges" was a Billboard no.1 album, and "Mind games" was not. "Intuition" could have been a hit single if it had been released as an a-side. "Mind games" was a bit hit, and is one of John Lennons best solo songs. The whole album is very enjoyable. I`d give it a very strong 4/6 if i were to rate it.

@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel There`s a lot of people who really like "Walls and brides" It`s not among my favorite John Lennon albums. I LOVE "Scared" "#9 Dream" and "Whatever gets you through the night" but the rest of the album is not up to par with those songs.
I`ve never liked his Rock and roll album either. I think Johns voice is shot, and many of the numbers are overproduced. A lot of John fans love Rock and roll, but that is probably my least favorite John album.
And i`m not counting those silly albums he did in 1969 with Yoko. The wedding album etc. I don`t consider that to be a proper album anyway.
As far as i am concerned "John Lennon/Plastic Ono band" is John Lennons first solo album. I also love "Double fantasy"
John wrote some beautiful numbers for that album, and he even revisited the Beatles with "Woman" who sounds like a Beatles song to my ears.
Yokos songs on "Double fantasy" are also quite good. I think "Imagine" is his best album. "John Lennon/Plastic One band" is the next best, while "Double fantasty" is his third best album. "Mind games" is his fourth best album to me.

I've seen it cd let's you know that the hidden track. To hear them you have to know where they. So you play the track before, the hidden song. You stop before it. Then rewind back and the hidden one plays. So far your the 3rd I've seen have received the set

Yeah i do have a 5.1 set up but not dolby atmos (although if you play dolby atmos it downgrades it to 5.1 anyway) i love this for tv but am not a huge fan of listening to music in 5.1. However i always give it a go whenever we get blu-rays . I just prefer music in stereo. I guess im old school. Yes the -1 thing with the hidden tracks is mentioned in the video. Cheers Graham

Talk about the ridiculous price this box set sells for. In Australia $360 which is about 2x JLPOB and 3x Imagine
That does seem very steep. That's about £190 whereas the price in the uk is £130 which is a hike of about £40 on POB back in 2021. Unfortunately times have moved on post covid. POB was around £90 when it came out in 2021, but just like everything else in life, the price of box sets has gone up. I recently bought the Bowie box rock n roll Star £150 for 5 cds 1 blu-ray and a book, Mind games is 6CDs 2 Blu rays and a book £130 £20 less and more content , so at todays prices it's still decent value I think, however the Aussie price is well over the top. Any idea why it's so expensive in Australia. I enjoy your website btw
@@beatleytonesbeatleschannel The majors import EVERYTHING now to Australia. NOTHING is manufactured locally anymore. We can buy Mind Games cheaper from Universal UK than Universal Australia because if you go through Australia, the local end adds their take on top of the UK or US end. So effectively, the Australian consumer if buying it twice from the same record company. They import limited stock and then rarely restock after the first batch. I doubt the Lennon estate would even know of the price gouging that occurs in Australia. Mind Games in Australia converted to UK is £180

I know about 4 or 5 RUclipsrs that have got this box set early from the John Lennon Estate so it's not really 'all these people' . We dont ask for it, the estate approaches the RUclipsrs. Ive bought everything myself etc for 48 years and this is the first time Ive got anything for free . It's a two-way thing between the camp and the RUclipsrs. For their generosity they get free promotion from the you tubers. Do you have a channel?

I'm sorry I really love your channel but I'm really fed up of people bragging about there deliveries on mind games box set I don't do videos I don't need to like everyone else I have over 7000 Beatles records CDs etc I have obviously ordered all formats of mind games against my sins but I'm fed up of people bragging about receiving there boxsets by doing videos surely it would have sold anyway Paul's campsite would not normally do this neither George and certainly Ringo doesn't I'm not jealous but every time I go on you tube I see people saying they received there box set I am buying the items because I'm a fan but to be honest most of these outtakes are on John Lennon bootlegs for years I am sorry to say this but I have unsucribed this as I am saying this as I have just got tickets for all 4 shows to see Paul in December I am more excited about getting those then getting my mind games items on July 12th no offence to you it's a great channel but fed up of people bragging thanks mark
