Yes! You can see him weighing his options before he draws the line in the sand. Probably bullied his whole life by Biff and his goons up until this point. What made the difference in George was realizing this wasn’t just a set-up anymore. His friend Marty isn’t there like planned. Nobody is faking anything to set up a meet-cute. Mercy is for the weak, we do not train to be merciful here. Here, on the streets, in competition, if a man faces you, he is the enemy, and enemy deserves no mercy!
I like a lot about this scene, but as a kid, I didn't fully appreciate that he's amazed in the aftermath of his successful punch, and could've easily gotten lost in his giddy gleefulness. But instead he realizes that Lorraine's safety and feelings, as the victim of Biff's attempted assault, are the important thing to focus on rather than his triumph. So he puts that aside and asks her if she's okay and helps her up. As an adult, I really appreciate that little nuance, it really adds to the scene and speaks to his character growth.
I remember having goosebumps watching this scene in a movie theater during bttf marathon. When George did the punch, the whole audience were cheering loud. That was an amazing experience.
I always wondered why George hired Biff to wax his car, after he almost sexually assaulted Lorraine. Also, Lorraine never seems uncomfortable by having Biff lingering around.
To keep an eye on him. Keep your friends close but your enemies closer. For nothing else to keep tabs on him. If he tries anything, George will be ready for him. Firm believer in "know your enemy"
"Family Guy" had a skit about George bringing up the fact that the kid they named Marty looks a whole lot like the guy they knew named Marty and promptly divorces her.
Lorraine's not uncomfortable with Biff waxing the car or hanging around, because the new version of George Mcfly, after Marty changed things, will protect Lorraine, and deck Biff again if he ever tried anything.
@trinaq Maybe sometime after High School, Biff apologized to George and Lorraine for all the trouble he caused explaining how he has started acting mature now. Otherwise maybe Marty somehow changed the past making Biff kind hearted especially since Biff was on a last name basis with the McFly family in 1985.
I'm probably the only one who thinks so, but the way George whimpers when he's getting his arm twisted is so damn funny. Crispin did such a good job playing him.
I am so glad it was Biff who got in the car only to get TKO'd by George. Because George got to stand up against a guy who genuinely hated him, no act required. If Marty's plan went all the way through and George hit his own future son instead, George wouldn't have known what it was like to grow a pair in a real scenario, and it would've messed up the time continuum like crazy.
@KarateGirl999 Yes, the advice from Goldie Wilson must have helped George. Regarding George hitting Marty, that was the whole idea Marty wanted George to do. It wasn't supposed to be like that because it was all planned for Marty to make sure he gets his mom and dad dating at the dance which he thought he succeeded but, Lorraine wanted to date Marty so Marty had to come up with a plan acting like he was there to date her but George comes to the rescue like he's saying "that's my date not yours."
You know what? I keep forgetting about him playing the Thin Man. I've seen Charlie's Angels 1 and 2 so many times. It's just I don't see him doing many film projects.
It's been so long since I've seen this movie that I swore I remember biff slapping Lorraine instead of just pushing her. Says a lot that was enough to set George off to drop Biff
From the moment of that punch the chain reaction of Biff's bullying of George stopped.. History changed for the better. Lorraine fell in love with George. It was the 1st of 3 chain reactions in the trilogy. The 2nd was when Marty burned the almnac in BTT2. When he did that all the events from Biff's 1st bet stopped and never took place. The 3rd was in BTT3 when Marty reversed at the car race. He never crashed into the Rolls Royce and never had that accident.
This moment and the moment Biff crashes into a manure truck would have put a big dent in Biff's life, no way he will ever want to remember such year when a mysterious boy came along and helped George McFly improve his life.
I hope this does not sound lame, but I think George, and all of us do, have greatness in us and sometimes it needs something to bring it out of us. Obviously in the original timeline, nothing of note had happened to George in order for this to happen to him.
“No Biff, you leave her alone” gets me every time. He looks so damn scared when he notices it’s Biff. You can feel that 99% of the voice in his head is telling him to get the hell out of there. But he listens to that 1% that tells him to man up. Even if he had lost the fight, it’s one of the major “grow some gigantic balls” moments in cinema history. Love this movie.
And thus George McFly became class president, accomplished his dream and got married with Lorraine and had kids, they have been nicer and healthier and, George and Lorraine went easy on Marty when he accidentally set fire on a rug in their house, Dave and Linda have successful jobs and Marty has the car he’s been wanting. Biff, on the other hand, left George alone and ended his bullying and became nicer, he started his own auto detailing business and was no longer disrespectful towards anyone.
George’s conscience: All the times you called me names, belittled me, made me do your homework, twisting my arm and now laughing at me… Boom…. Now you will wash my car!! Yeah! Yeah! YEAH! George, there’s a women down there. Pick her up. “Are you OK?!” Yeah, George, you’re bad.
It just occurs to me that this encounter is the sort of thing you could have in a western. It seems a shame when they did Back to the future part 3 there was no instance of someone having to physically fight Buford Tannen in order to rescue a lady from him. I know he does come on to Clara - but it seems a shame He does not have to be fought with like Biff is here. It occurs to me it could have worked with Doc Brown having to fight with Buford to save Clara from him. I know Buford used to pick on Seamus McFly - it occurs to me maybe one of the reasons for this was he could have had designs on Seamus's wife Maggie. I know this is not made clear in the film, but the book does say that he did used to pick on Marty's great grandfather Seamus.
Here is something funny if it happened after 2:16: Mr. Strickland (walking by in the parking lot): McFly you slacker, you are suspended for punching Biff Tannen and knocking him out on the school grounds. George: Mr. Strickland, you are aware that Biff has been bullying me and he was attacking Lorraine physically and I had to defend she and I. Lorraine: It's the truth Mr. Strickland, George was saving me from Biff. Mr. Strickland: I understand Biff was a bully and a slacker but McFly you still punched on school grounds and are on a suspension for two weeks. Leave the school now or I'll make it three weeks. Marty: Oh no, my mom and dad never dated at the dance together as was supposed to happen. Now I'm fading away out of existence like my brother and sister are in the picture.
Everyone talks about the punch, but "No, Biff, you leave her alone" is the first moment George mans up.

Mr. Miyagi: "Let him go. I said let him go!"
Mercy is for the weak, we do not train to be merciful here. Here, on the streets, in competition, if a man faces you, he is the enemy, and enemy deserves no mercy!
You can practically see the stars spinning above Biff's head
I love how he composes himself for her ..." are you ok"
I❤ BIFF
I like a lot about this scene, but as a kid, I didn't fully appreciate that he's amazed in the aftermath of his successful punch, and could've easily gotten lost in his giddy gleefulness. But instead he realizes that Lorraine's safety and feelings, as the victim of Biff's attempted assault, are the important thing to focus on rather than his triumph. So he puts that aside and asks her if she's okay and helps her up. As an adult, I really appreciate that little nuance, it really adds to the scene and speaks to his character growth.
Aaaaw he reminds me of me dad. So calm for YEARS but when he have to... BAM!
i love this line when this baby reaches 80 miles per hour your gunna see some serious sh**

One of the greatest moments in cinema history.
Looks like George had it in him this whole time
He just needed to face Biff.
@@Metalman200xdamnitso biff helped him to gain that without realizing?
@sridrawings4510 Yes
Because Biff was harmless once George had made him his bi*** and publicly embarrassed him like that 😂🤷🏻♂️
This scene and “The Vision of your happiness, woah”(George and Lorraine’s kiss) are the 2 BEST scenes of this whole movie!
I'm probably the only one who thinks so, but the way George whimpers when he's getting his arm twisted is so damn funny. Crispin did such a good job playing him.
"I GOTTA GO, I'VE GOT ONE CHANCE, MY OLD MAN IS ABOUT TO DECK BIFF!!!"
With his left hand no less.
Biff got what he deserved
I never realized that it was weed they were smoking 🤣🤣🤣
Same when I was a kid. Skinhead's line might have been the first time I heard the term "reefer."
What the hell are you doing to my car!!?? LOL

I think hes an amazing actor
He played Thin Man in two Charlie's Angels movies.
You know what? I keep forgetting about him playing the Thin Man. I've seen Charlie's Angels 1 and 2 so many times. It's just I don't see him doing many film projects.
*you forgot Alice in wonderland 2010*
Biff has a pretty fresh fade for the 50s/60s.
“I think you have the wrong car McFly”
It’s hilarious how the other guys are concerned about Marty, they don’t realize Marvin sliced his hand open. Or comfort him.😂
Crispin Glover went from the most wimpiest looking guy to the most intimidating, sharp, mafia boss looking man today 😭😭
Mcfly : oh biff you are one sick puppy
It's been so long since I've seen this movie that I swore I remember biff slapping Lorraine instead of just pushing her. Says a lot that was enough to set George off to drop Biff
2:00 the soon awaited action
From the moment of that punch the chain reaction of Biff's bullying of George stopped.. History changed for the better. Lorraine fell in love with George. It was the 1st of 3 chain reactions in the trilogy.
The 2nd was when Marty burned the almnac in BTT2. When he did that all the events from Biff's 1st bet stopped and never took place.
The 3rd was in BTT3 when Marty reversed at the car race. He never crashed into the Rolls Royce and never had that accident.
The student has become the master.
ジョージがビフをKOしてロレインの手を取るシーンは何度見ても泣いてしまう

Never mess with George Mcfly.
Or my character Andrew
Or a Mcfly
“Scram McFly!” -He got his too! 👊
This moment and the moment Biff crashes into a manure truck would have put a big dent in Biff's life, no way he will ever want to remember such year when a mysterious boy came along and helped George McFly improve his life.
Part 2 Marty: OF COURSE! MY ONE CHANCE! MY OLD MAN IS ABOUT TO DECK BIFF

1:37 Ow! D**n it, man! It sliced my hand!
George, the one punch man.
I hope this does not sound lame, but I think George, and all of us do, have greatness in us and sometimes it needs something to bring it out of us.
Obviously in the original timeline, nothing of note had happened to George in order for this to happen to him.
This is the first time I’ve noticed that the black gentlemen were actually hotboxing in the car!😅
I realzast of time travle in My memory in a futuer of time in past in my own head
Acid is groovy.
1:57 2:04 The Moment George McFly Became A Man
For me it’s 1:12 most people would walk away, being scared of their bully, but George really showed some balls and guts
Biff always push George to limit thats what happen after so many times he get bullied
I always forget the slight bit of racism in BttF.
It takes place in the 1950's so its historically accurate.
I mean, the guys saying it are bullies and creeps, so it scans. It was a common attitude in the 50s.
@@bbmcrae Plus, Hill Valley is in California so the racism is a bit more mild.

"What the hell you doing to my car?"
"Hey beat it spook this don't concern you."
Didn't he just say it was HIS car?
George’s conscience:
All the times you called me names, belittled me, made me do your homework, twisting my arm and now laughing at me…
Boom….
Now you will wash my car!!
Yeah! Yeah! YEAH!
George, there’s a women down there.
Pick her up.
“Are you OK?!”
Yeah, George, you’re bad.
It just occurs to me that this encounter is the sort of thing you could have in a western. It seems a shame when they did Back to the future part 3 there was no instance of
someone having to physically fight Buford Tannen in order to rescue a lady from him. I know he does come on to Clara - but it seems a shame He does not have to be fought
with like Biff is here. It occurs to me it could have worked with Doc Brown having to fight with Buford to save Clara from him. I know Buford used to pick on Seamus McFly -
it occurs to me maybe one of the reasons for this was he could have had designs on Seamus's wife Maggie. I know this is not made clear in the film, but the book does say
that he did used to pick on Marty's great grandfather Seamus.
Well George was put in a pretty tight spot here, it was either stand up to Biff or have his brain melted by Darth Vader from Planet Vulcan..
In both realities George was a good husband and father, so it was not all bad.
*Reefer addicts* 💀💀
Here is something funny if it happened after 2:16:
Mr.
