The hover board test footage at the end was the best honestly
Yeah, it looked great. Amazing that they made it look as good as it did.
It looked as if they were having a heck of a time
I didn’t see any ropes
How did they do it? I didn’t see shadows of any cranes or cables holding them up. In a few scenes I can see cables connecting everyone’s hoverboards together but I can’t see how they’re pulling off such a convincing hover illusion.

That scene where the kids can't even eat dinner without a screen being in front of them was sadly prophetic.

so thats why old man biff was suffering when he came back.... he was phasing out of existance. i thought was just a regular heart attack.
Now that he's changed it he probably got shot before 2015 so now he doesn't exist. This is just what I think
Good thing thay took it out as Marty comes back to alternate 1985 was a surprise to me when i first watched it as a kid...i remember trying to explain to my dumb friends what just happened
Old biff changed the time line in 1955 so when going back to the future, he would have went to the new time line of him being rich and Marty and doc would have actually been the ones to disappear. Never made sense to me :/
@@clayton8001 You blew my mind now.
The ripple effect was slowly forming around Marty and Doc, meaning they were still in 2015 from the new 1985 timeline, but 2015A was slowly phasing into existence.
Original 1955: George fell out of the sky and got hit by a car
2015: A car fell out of the sky and hit George
1955: Marty pushed George
2015: Marty see shark
I wonder why he fell out of the sky....
Could it be....He was a frickin peeping-tom...
@@WilliamLDeRieuxIV no. He was tom boy
@@OikPoinFive a tomboy is a girl who likes to do things boys do
No, it was the next actor to play the role as Marty's Dad 🤣 had to do something completely opposite. Car falls on him, floats upside down. Gotta be cool somehow. (I know the whole lwasuit thing with Crispin Glover, and whatnot. And how they wanted to make it indescrete about swapping the characher, making a "funny")
3:29 the way Marlene said “ Look, I’m gonna have to call you back.” In a deep voice 😂😂😂🤣😂😅
After all these years, I finally understand why Biff was dying in the future after coming back from the past. When I first saw this, I didn't really understand why he was dying when he returned; I thought he was just having a heart attack during time traveling back to 2015. The deleted scene made it so much clear that he was dying because his existence was fading due to changing the past. This may have been obvious to a lot of people without this scene, but my young brain at the time didn't connect the relationship.
@@capella5783 - Whoah, you know what? Actually, that's EXACTLY what I thought initially. It's been so long since I've seen the movie that I forgot this was the conclusion I initially came up with after seeing that scene. At some point throughout the years, I guess my mind just graduated to concluding he had a heart attack.
I first saw this movie when it came out December 1989 on Cape Town. And after many multiple viewings I always thought biff had hurt himself coming back in the time machine. I mean if they intended him to die by altering the past did his hectic millionaire life style cut his life short?
@@vincentvanwyk5522 I read that lorraine killed him in 96. I also wish I could read the original script where doc & marty go to 1967 bc that's when biff would inherit 20 grand to bet with. Marty winds up on jail & for some reason lorraine bails him out. He endangers his existence again bc George was away at grad school at Berkeley. It's the year b4 Marty is born so without the money she cant go visit George where they conceived marty. Zemeckis didnt like it bc it was a retread of Marty again interfering with his birth. Also it was only 12 years after marty met lorraine & she may have remembered him as opposed to 30 years going by which would cloud ur memory even more. She is seen with Marty's brother & sister who are 4 & 2 years old.
The whole scene is a paradox on multiple levels. The most obvious paradox is that Biff wouldn't have been able to return the DeLorean to the correct 2015 timeline. There are endless minor paradoxes, such as going to a future point in time where your future self is (since you go to the future from a past point in time, your future self will have remembered that you traveled in a time machine 30 years prior to that point in time). But whatever--it's a fun movie and you just have to suspend disbelief for a bit.
@@kevinkent6351 Not sure about the minor paradoxes, but as for the major one, it was indeed the Alternate 2015 that Biff returned the Delorean to. It changed around Doc and Marty. The outside of that neighborhood wouldn't look any different in the alternate 2015 as it did in the prime 2015.
But like you said, suspension of disbelief is still necessary.

Apart from predicting we'd be wearing two ties in the future, another point they've definitely nailed was watching multiple TV shows at once. Since the birth of on-demand TV, and the effortless ability of thumb scrolling media on our phone our attention span has shorten dramatically over time. Watching multiple shows side-by-side definitely portrays this...

nowdays they'd use cgi to fake everything, and it never looks real.
That scene looks the wrong kind of real, because the actors look like they're REALLY dangling off a REAL crane. Instead, they should look like they're being pushed upwards, with a force applied under their feet.
You know what movie got it right? Iron Man, in the scene where Tony Stark is testing the repulsors. In the behind the scenes featurette, you can see that wires are used to support Robert Downey Jr. from below his hands and feet, so that his weight moves correctly!

Well, at least, after 40 years of my life now thanks to this deleted scene I finally get what the heck 'I was at the golfcourse' has to do with George being upside down. As a kid I always figured people played golf on some kind of hoverboard platforms in the future, so I figured George's platform malfunctioned when he swang the bat too hard and it went upside down and he couldn't fix it back. It is only now in June 2020 that I know he is upside down to straighten his back, and his hoverboard platform is a medical device.
I heard that the writers (Bob & Bob) wrote it also to keep Crispin on his marks for camera, which he'd often miss during the first film production.
The hoverboard scenes were pretty neat. Even without special effects, behind the scenes, it still looks like real hoverboards.
Because they had already removed optically the wires.
Man... Seeing his brother like that really made things sad. I can see why they left it out, being a Comedy/Adventure and all. But that scene was just heartbreaking.
I think the only scene they should’ve left in was the part where biff was phasing through existence because when he was freaking out in the movie after he got out of the car I was confused on what was happening

Why was it necessary to cut these wonderful scenes? I love the Back to the future trilogy!
Scenes are usually cut from films for several reasons: 1) time - to keep the time of the film down, 2) not important to the main story line, 3) doesn't work technically, 4) changes the dynamic or mood of the film, 5) doesn't make sense and/or 6) is too over the top (gory/sexual/dramatic/scary/etc.).
And also flow, like part of a scene is cut because it either changes or otherwise affects the flow of the scene.
