- It's been a tough year for the defending National Champions. The LSU Tigers entered the 2020 season with high expectations about a potential back to back playoff appearance, but after a 37 point loss to Auburn, the Bayou Bengals find themselves hoping to just make it to a decent bowl. LSU's fortunes take another turn for the worse when they are put on trial by past National Championship teams where they must answer for their poor performance.

Its fun to insult LSU, but I imagine this year is about as much of a fluke (in the sense of being 1 year which deviates significantly from their expected level of play) as last year was.
I imagine Saban would hold up better just cause he’s Saban and so far 2020 looks horrible for LSU. But nobody has had it quite as bad as this years LSU team with regards to the surrounding situation coming out of a natty.
On the other hand, there were LSU fans saying they’d be better this year than last and its very fun laughing at that ego.

The selection of UT over TCU made literally zero sense as:
- TCU had more ranked wins than UT
- TCU had better ranked wins than UT
- TCU beat ranked teams by a larger margin than UT

- TCU had a better offense than Alabama and UT
- TCU had a better defense than Alabama and UT.
In fact TCU would have been statistically the toughest team Alabama would have played all season had they played in the national championship.
