- Cas9 isn't the only CRISPR protein in the toolkit. Researchers have repurposed Cas12 and Cas13 as sensitive, cheap, and fast diagnostic tools. Learn how scientists are working to use these proteins to one day detect viruses, bacterial infections, and even cancer.

truly the best crispr drawing video i've seen yet! bravo to miss. kathi and to the producers! very educational!
There is already article published in science journal for Dengue and Zika diagnosis using SHERLOCK
Yes, this video is meant to help explain how SHERLOCK and DETECTR work on the molecular level.
Innovative Genomics Institute - IGI 2:19 technology is under development .. is it true ?? I thought its already established because in that article, they discussed about patients urine and serum samples for diagnosis.
@@mritunjaysaxena, they showed a proof-of-concept. This technology is not on the market yet. If a person or doctor wanted to use this technology to treat themselves or a patient they would be unable to obtain these tools. The SHERLOCK company, as well as Mammoth Biosciences are working hard to bring this technology to consumers.
Innovative Genomics Institute - IGI Big thanks for update :)
@@mritunjaysaxena Anytime! Please tell us if you have any more questions.
Thank you. Very good content
nice video! :)
Wow nice video, thanks for helping me understand this topic
what treasure have i stumbled upon?
not clear why Cas12 binding the the HPV genome, it also causes the generation of Cas12 protein and cutting of ssDNA
World's first and only crispr diagnostic centre for common people : tata medical, india
What is the difference between HOLMES and DETECTR?
In 2020, some research teams've developed a CRISPR-cas12-diagnostic kit to detect COVID-19
Does the trans-cleavage activity of Cas12 work for only ssDNA, dsDNA, or both?
The trans-cleavage for Cas12 will only cut ssDNA. mammoth.bio/2019/06/10/the-cas-proteins-behind-crispr-diagnostics/
