The sport is only 25 years old. Crazy to think nobody knew real practical martial arts.

The Greeks had boxing and wrestling thousands of years ago, jiu-jitsu and muay thai have been around for hundreds of years. The problem in the 20th century was all the 'bullshido' around being promoted by pop-culture/movies and dishonest/fraudster instructors.
They did know practical martial arts there just wasn't mma

I would rather be confortable than be all dressed up to show off my money. It´s probably why he is rarely in a suit; it´s not confortable at all(even tho he can buy very confortable suits, made out of expensive fabrics and well custom designed). In the beggining he had to pass a professional image so he was always in a suit but now he can relax; the sport is built, it´s all about mantaining and growing, so he can be more confortable and be more himself.

Dana might be a douche to fighters sometimes, might lie a lot and do shady things behind the back but one can´t deny that the guy is charismatic, hard working and the sport wouldn´t be where it is without him. Once guys like him and Joe Rogan are gone the sport will not be the same. Granted he was only able to do what he did because he had rich friends to back him up but he still did a phenomenal job because he had love for the sport. It´s a love/hate relationship with him a lot of times.
That’s actually a really interesting question, who will succeed Dana in the future?
I think that's the NUMBER ONE question; I've wondered that FOR YEARS!

Yeah, fighting. Not War. Dana has always marketed this as War, it's not. It's real, but it's also staged and rehearsed. I know of many guys who could clean up the upper echelons of the UFC after a night of drinking. And some of them would be fine if Mario Yamasaki didn't step in to stop the fight.

I think so, because the US market is probably the smallest in the world. Soccer is BIG everywhere in the world except the US. Just about every other country has a dedicated Soccer stadium, while the US does not.

Lets face it the other organizations where either too weak in terms of talent or overseas where they don't have a frontman (Pride etc).
