- This made a nice difference!!!
If you do this and experience binding other than what you see here, remove the outer bearings in the housing and that should help a bit.

Amazing that the driveshafts still work at this angle. Impressive.
You come with the good stuff every morning.I have learned a lot watching your videos thank you and keep up The good and hard work
Thank you for watching!
Friend, haven't seen this video yet but I admire what you're doing for the RC community and me impartial, Thanks fella for your support with helping us with this hobby a whole lot of people are involved in. Salute dude salute....❗
Very impressive, just a little grinding and a huge difference in performance. Many thanks for your help
That steering is absolute madness! It's like D1 drifting steering setup which makes this truck the tokyo drift truck of the crawlers. lol. Thumps up!
Holy crap! It has a lot of steering stock, but you've got it damn near to drift car levels after modding it! It looks like it'll improve it quite a bit.
Amazing the difference a few degrees make. Well done
And the fluttering noise is because universal joints speed up and slow down as their angles increase. So the front wheels are literally changing speeds and loading the drivetrain in pulses.
klampykixx yep exactly.
Nice video Joe. Will be doing the steering mod to my Capra this week with confidence after seeing your video.
If you experience and binding other than what you see here, remove the outer bearings and that should help a bit.
Big improvement. Always something going on with your Capra
Nice job man! I've seen a few people do this mod now, and I'm inclined to consider it when I finish building mine!
Niiiice mod. I have at least four buddies with Capra's.
I'm gunna share this to Tehachapi RC Rock Crawlers and Bakersfield RC Rock Crawlers.
Nice work Joe.
Tom Lucas cool we had 3 out at the Exoplex the other day. I’m pretty sure more steering can be had with more trimming.
@@ExocagedRC Pictures and video don't do the Capra justice. You really gotta see it in person to see the improvements in quality to the plastics. It's definitely a better rig than the rock bouncers Axial has made.
Tom Lucas yeah it’s a good truck. The only issue I have left with mine is the darn belly catches on way too much stuff.
@@ExocagedRC it has a big belly. Hahaha
That is impressive sir. And FREE !! i love free shtuff
What if u put offset rod ends on and bend little less
All I can say is super WOW! 😆👍
Thats pretty neat little rig
Thank you for the helpful tips👍👍
Gest wau!
Nice mod!
Thanks for sharing!
Wrealy impressed!
Great video but I’ll look for a rear steer. Rear steer jus looks better. 👍🏻👍🏻
yeah I did rear steer on this one too, and on my Mjolnir C3 comp truck with Capra Driveline
Where are you located? I'm looking for places in Central Florida to crawl. Thanks,
Dale
North east Florida close to Jacksonville. Your best bet would be Scale Mountain in Ocala.
What tires
When are you gonna do the same thing to the rear to see how tight you can get it to turn
Michelle Dewey I don’t think the rear needs this and with the weight on it while climbing it may cause issues with breakage. Idk I may do it anyways. It’s a free mod so...
That was an excellent question.
Very clever mod 👏👏👏👏👏👏
Hi I'm having problems with dig when going in or out going up on lines you have to relax the pressure on the drive train not like the OG dig in using the recommended servo running 6v can you offer any ideas?? I have asked Axial but they are no help
That’s just how this one works. On mine I’m using a reefs 99micro servo ( you can see it in my first drive video ) and it works really well. I did lightly grease the teeth in the dig unit.
So putting the reefs in salved the shifting problems?? Or you never exercised this problem?? Thanks for ur reply
Experience sorry
@@dubbleportion Sometimes the Reefs has to work a bit to get it out of the binded situation but it seems to be breaking in and getting smoother over time.
Cool cool man where do you find such strong axles 👌👊😀
Nice vid!
I was wondering. I have the capra rtr. Any ideas on why my stock light bar is dim?Zero mods except for the pen spring mod in the shocks. Thanx for your input. Love your channel.
Ps. It wasn't always dim. Jsn. Lol
Salut les commandes sur le site traxxas se fait 24h sûr 24 ?
do your U joints bind any with that much steering ?
yeah, all joints will bind with this much angle
that was huge!
Really a good improvement !
A question universal joint doesn't risk to be damaged working at over 45 degrees ?
In your experience is possible to do the same with other Axial or Traxxas crawlers ?
Giove Fix the ujoint will see increased wear and is more susceptible to damage from these angles. The traxxas trucks use a CVD and although they turn well, they won’t put turn a ujoint axle.
@@ExocagedRC Thank you so much.
Where is the rock crawling course that ICU testing your vehicles on in most your videos?
I got a new Capra. I've got a homies 13 turn crawl master expert motor. Is that speed or torque? I got a1080 hobby wing esc, do you think its Efficient enough.? What pinion would you use.?
great motor and esc combo, I'll be using a cheaper version of that motor in a future video, I like the 11t pinion and 3s battery. if you're in a sandy environment you may want a bit more wheelspeed with the stock 14t pinion.
@@ExocagedRC Thank you for the advice. I am also adding rear steering. Thank you for the videos I am definitely watching, two thumbs up.
Sweet mod
Do you think ar44 axles could be modded similarly?
Balo on my Superlite I didn’t have to mod anything to get really sharp steering. Not sure about the better axles if they have limited steering
@@ExocagedRC im not saying they dont turn sharp enough, im asking if they could turn more? :D could you compare modded capra angle to ar44 please?
@@czebalaf some comp guys get 70 degrees turning out of them, yeah I'll see where the capra is compared to the SCX
@@ExocagedRC thank you!
Nice, but that's pushing the parts to extremes. It looks like the tires are pretty close to the shocks during full lock. Are they actually rubbing at all? Keep up the good work! The more you experiment the less I have to risk. : )
the tires still have a bit of room before hitting the shocks or the links, with a bit of trimming it can go more. Kinda crazy
That looks like enough steering angle to warrant drift tires
pauls1816 just beat me to that one
Omg i want that for my rig but its dogbone
Rc Garage ph yeah those dogbones will not do well for this one.
Cheap mod and easy too....
NC❤ MOUNTAINS backyard RC AND MORE.🏞🖒✔
Axle joints will fail much quicker with that modification. Just saying.
I always set my endpoints on steering till the servo doesnt hum n try to over extend, thats how u burn the servo up. I'm sure u already knew that lol
STEVO D 313 yeah I let mine hum a tiny bit and rarely kill a servo. On the racers I let them hum a bit more due to the servo savers. Now on the dig servo yeah no hum there at all they will die fast.
CHEATER TRUCK! Sweet setup!
