I warm up the vinegar in the microwave for 30 seconds and then add it to the Dawn in the spray bottle. I let it sit on tub 1 and walls for about an hour or longer. Hardly no scrubbing involved. Squeaky clean.
Really seriously
Everytime Catherine reves up the microwave, I piss my pants and forget who I was for a half-hour.

Sherrie Jones I’m not sure. It should. The longer it sits, the better. Try a small spot.
Vinegar will break down water based sealant on tile and grout, as a tile professional I recommend testing your tile, grout to make sure it's still repelling water and not absorbing it because over time grout without sealant will lose its integrity, begin to crack, and when that happens water damage to walls behind, tile falling, and huge repair cost. So make sure your sealant is still present.
what about dawn, water and a bit of citric acid (for the soap scum and hard water stains). would that be ok?
I actually wax our acrylic shower base with car wax to make it much easier to keep clean!!

I also started using a shower water filter. Besides never having to clean hard water marks, the benefits to your health is incredible. Silky hair, better skin, and no more chlorine, etc from the water being absorbed by your body. For around $30-40 you get amazing results you never have to think about. 🙂

That mixture cleans showers and tubs well. I use the same method but I go one step further, I use some baking soda with the mixture.

Frank Gutowski pro tip: baking soda also cleans grime and soap scum with vinegar, breaking down the deposits.

Thank you for being so transparent. We sometimes allow housework to get ahead of us and become overwhelmed and not want to do it but this was a quick and easy way to take care of something and thank you again.
Also quick tip if you have hard stains on the floor, spinkle baking soda and throw old rags on top and take boiling water and pour on top of the rags slowly so you don't move them. Wait like 30 mins and the hard stains will wipe away.

Love it! I've been using a watered down version of this solution. with half water, half vinegar, and a few drops of Dawn. It works great for daily kitchen and countertops, but it's terrible in the shower. I never thought to use it full strength. Gotta try it! TFS ❤️

If you ad a couple shakes
of baking soda in the tub before you start - it'll work even better.
Literally all you need to clean your house is Dawn, vinegar, and baking soda.

@@sisplease9053 I know. I agreed. Baking soda is one of the three ingredients that you really need to clean anything in your house. Especially when paired with vinegar to work on the same mess.

I've been doing this for a while and love it. I started using the scrubbers when my son started cleaning his own shower. I thought that it would be easier for him, but hadn't thought to use it in my own shower! LOL

I find that softscrub and a deck brush work really well. And it helps to actually get into the shower to clean it. That way you can see and reach everything. For the pink mold I would use softscrub and a toothbrush and you can us it on your shower track as well . You can also use a scratchie on your door with some soft scrub, rinse and dry it and if it is beveled glass add some lemon oil to it to keep the hard water, soap scum down!
Been doing this for years. Way better than commercial cleansers. The smell of the vinegar took some getting used to but the smell doesn't linger too long. 😊

I mix the soap and vinegar with a wire whisk in a measuring cup before loading the dispenser. I love this mixture!

They make really long handled ones for the tub if you dont have walk in shower and they reach the far wall without bending.
This works great, and there is no harsh smell.
it's nice to know I'm not the only one that cleans my shower when I'm in it definitely will have to try the vinegar and dish soap but looks like a lot of work when you can just use a magic eraser from the dollar store but pretty cool way to clean the shower

Mommy Garcia if that doesn't work try using the unscented easy off and a magic eraser I had to get rid of that in an apt we were moving into and nothingggg ever got it off including dish soap , bleach or baking soda .. etc. leave for a few hrs

YESSSSS, such a great idea! Get the kids involved! A quick wipe down after every shower does wonders. AND, it works on the glass too.
Yay! I'm not the only one that cleans my shower while I'm in my shower !! The one thing I hate most is staying in and cleaning ( obsessively) until I run out of hot water and I'm left standing in the cold still needing to do the final rinse....... Ummmm of me ,,,,,not the shower ha!!

When it's time to renew my exfoliating body sponge I use the old one on the bathtub and it does wonders.

I have a scrubber hanging in my shower with both ingredients and I wipe the walls down while my conditioner is sitting in my hair. It's genius and it works!

So the pinkish film is a form of mildew. Wanna prevent it? Leave the shower door open so the humidity can escape after your shower. Let it air dry, no more pink stuff.
Valerie Foster our company also recommends a light spritz of diluted bleach for areas that have mold/mildew issues in their shower.

pinkish film is from chemicals in the water. I clean houses for a living and the pink film never use to be there till recent years. as for what actually works, well if you just spray ur shower down with 1/2 water- 1/2 vinegar but only after you squeegee it first ;well that works too. vinegar straight will eventually ruin the metal.

Kimberly Rosa Why diluted the bleach? I use it straight on anything mold or mildewy. I also spray it in my shower when I get out. It mixes with the water and my shower is shiny and new looking always.

Blue Dawn is the champion cleaner! My Grandma used to tell me all these insane ways to use it. It's a kitchen must have around here!
This mixture really works!!! It is great on shower glass too. For me the KEY to this hack is TIME!!! Spraying the mixture on to the surface and leaving it to dwell/sit! I normally do mine on a Friday night and leave it on until the morning. Then shower water is enough to rinses the dirt and grime away. I use a cloth or soft scruber for good measure (to get in all the corners). But seriously I am wiping away the dirt/grime at this point. It doesn't take any effort to get it sparkling. I use the same mix to clean most of my bathroom (inc. The toilet). It is fantastic!!!

Walmart now sells the great value brand Dawn ultra for half the price . Works great on my dishes
for the marble soft soap works gentle and good. I usually let the vinegar soak for 30 minutes before wiping it it's less work.
I do the same except I sprinkle baking soda on after the spray and then let it sit. When you sprinkle the baking soda it will fizz and make a nice foam.

DT also sells replacement heads for the scrubber. What makes this all work is the vinegar takes care of the mineral deposits form hard water, and the soap cleans oils and "stuff". I think using a good laundry detergent would also work.

Heating up the vinegar a lil but helps also when you add it to the dawn this mixture works wonders
