- Complete from start to finish insight into a bathroom refurbishment i have just completed.
From ripping it out and skipping it all the way to the end when its all finished - Хобби
As someone who does all my own DIY/house renovation (because I have serious trust issues due to rouge traders and bad work having been done for me in the past), I really appreciate the quality presented in your videos. I'm currently planning out the renovation of a similar sized bathroom and project and have found this really helpful. Keep up the good work and good quality standards!
Thanks mate…. It’s comments like this that really mean a lot… Thankyou🙏🏼
Good honest fitting and care shown something most London builders lack. Like the tip about siliconing before tiling and then again after tiling.
Thanks mate....
Yer I always silicone it when it goes in and then again after it’s tiled... just something I’ve always done 👍🏼👍🏼
One thing my mentor taught me was to fill the bath up with water to the top then add a bit more silicon
Yep, thats right and I do this.... just didn’t video it. (Lots of people asking the same question)
Also if baths are fitted correctly they won’t drop.
Really enjoying these videos mate, just found your channel tonight and binge watched your whole channel ha. I’ve been a service and repair engineer for BG for the last 10 years and planning to go self employed this year. These vids give a good insight to what life’s like on the outside. Keep up the good work!
Thankyou very much for the kind words, glad your enjoying them. Good luck in going out for yourself... you will be fine
Any form of DIY scares the crap out of me. Videos like this are so so handy. Sweet production and style too. Good work all round! keep it up.
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks for showing the demo job of taking off tiles and plasterboard. Doing this as homeowner to reduce bathroom refit cost. Finished work is A Plus.
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Keeping it real, hugely entertaining and informative. Love it, keep up the good work M.
Thanks mate.... glad your liking the videos.
I’m a first time house buyer and we’re going to be doing some renovations in the bathroom, this video is great in showing you what goes on and how it all works together! Thanks
Glad you liked it and hope it helped
Absolute pleasure to watch you work. Quality diligent work. No cutting corners.
Would love to have you fitting our bathroom this summer.
Thanks mate…. 👍🏼👍🏼
A pleasure watching the content in-between the 20 ads I had to watch throughout. I would've watched more if I'd watched the video to the end but I just couldn't put up with that amount of ads for 1 video.
in need of a new bathroom in my apartment in the new year both on suite and main bathroom I will be in touch
nice to see someone take pride in there work 👍
Good job. Looks great. That's a pretty sweet toilet and lav setup. Wish we had a product like that where I live. I also like the shower valve. Looks much easier to install than what I'm used to.
Thanks, glad you liked it..
Very helpful to watch I’m currently 16 & I’m half through my first year in college doing level 1 plumbing.👍
Glad you enjoyed the video and good luck with the college course.

Those floorboards look beautiful, really rustic
Nice job, thanks for taking the time, videos like these I find really helpful 👍(bathroom almost identical to my one I did 2 yrs ago! (only I used shower wall panels)
Thanks mate...... enjoying doing the videos and plenty more to come
Quality, you make the job flow and the finish is amazing.
Thanks Paul…👍🏼👍🏼
Absolutely wonderful job. Well impressed 👍😊
Thanks mate 👌🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Looks amazing, how much roughly would a bathroom like that cost? I'm curious as its almost identical to my bathroom and when it comes to building work, cost of the work vary so much.
Very helpful video thank you especially good for us down here in Cornwall where they want 15 grand and a week for fitting a two grand chipboard bathroom. I will quit my IT job for two days and smash out myself like I did with my kitchen. I am curious to know why you didn’t fit flooring under the toilet though ? - because it’s usually messy trying to cut flooring around the toilet that is already fitted.
The customer was getting someone in to fit a limo floor…. Think I mentioned it in the video
Is it ok to tile before fitting a bath and if so do you just silicone around the bath or will you need some kind of trim to bridge between the tiles and the round edge of the bath. (Hope that makes sense .
Excellent job! Your videos are so educational, I love them, I noticed in another of your videos you used moisture board for a shower cubicle, but here it looked like normal boards you put up, is it not necessary to use moisture board for a bath shower? I ask because I about to redo my bathroom (DIY attempt) so would be good to know if I need to do the same, or can I just get away with tiles? Cheers.
Outstanding such high quality workmanship.
Thankyou, and thanks for watching..
Well done buddy, top job. Keep the video’s coming 👍
Thanks Simon..... appreciate the comment buddy. Plenty more to come.... infact ones just gone up today...

Great video mate quality workmanship luv it
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it.
Looked great once completed
I really enjoy your videos especially the fact that you don't use any bad language like some plumbers use.!
Wel done
Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback.
A few may slip through the net now and again so be warned
Not all of us fxxxxxg bxxxxxd plumbers swear
Thanks for the video, I'm having a new toilet and bathroom fitted next week and it was a good insight for what to expect 👍
Not a problem buddy👍🏼
superb great job , could you tell us some info re; plasterboards , would you used moister repellent or coat them , great job looks the business
Looks great, nice colours! Heard you mention moisture boards on another bathroom video, were those moisture boards under the tiles on this one, and if not, why?..... is it ok to tile straight onto boards.... sorry for questions...
Job really well done! Looks amazing. Wish you were in London!
Thanks appreciate the kind words
Brilliant love the finish similar size to mine and makes me want to do mine ...love it lads ..!!!
Thanks mate, appreciate the feedback....... now get yours done 👌🏼
Hello, great video, is there a pro or a con to tiling the floor first and putting the sink and toilet unit over the top of the tiles?
Always better to do the floor first if possible
Top job fella! 👏🏽👍🏽
Thankyou buddy....
Absorbing to watch. Am getting a lot of work soon in my house and hope the skill base is as good. 👍
Thanks buddy
Great job buddy. Very helpful tips there.
Thanks mate
Well done mate another great job
Thanks buddy
Nice video mate. What wood boards do you use for walls and floors? Thanks!
Nice job just in process of finishing my bathroom, i used 3x2 to place bath on tiles are well
Nice
Thanks buddy, glad you enjoyed it...
What did you use to fill the gaps in the wall
Really enjoying the videos pal. Randomly found your channel & binge watching today! look forward to seeing more 👍🏻
Thanks mate.... appreciate it
Really nice Job love the tiles . 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks..... the tiles really work well contrasting against each other..
Lovely job mate the finished result looked fantastic, happy customer I'm sure ! When I used to fit a lot of bathrooms my biggest hate was fitting shower enclosures 😬 some of them are a complete nightmare.... PS - can I have my bowl back please 😁👍
Hahahaaa.... as if there was a bowl left under the bath from someone... unreal.
Yer I’m not a fan of shower enclose fitting tbh, this screen was ok to be fair but some cubicles are a complete nightmare.
class work mate ... top man
Thanks mate..... plenty more to come 👍🏼👍🏼
smashing video from start to finish
Thanks very much, glad you liked it
Do you tile straight onto plasterboard?
If only you were in London! What a great job!
Thanks 🙏🏼🙏🏼
Top job pal. Just liked and subscribed.👍
Thankyou buddy, glad you liked it, plenty more to come.
Trying to do a video every Wednesday and Sunday
Nice job mark 👍👍👍👍👍
thanks mate
Was any tanking membrane of any sort used? Not straight on to plasterboard surely !?
Great video - do you know what the tiler used to fill in the cracks / holes before tiling? Assuming it was tile adhesive. Thanks
Tile adhesive I would think (I wasn’t there at that point)
Really enjoyed this video, great job done, wished i had called you, my bathroom is still not complete 6 months on, what a headache i have had. i will subscribe.
Thanks mate, glad you enjoyed it
This video will come in handy since I'm sitting watching you rip out a bathroom that looks better than the one I'm sitting in right now 😂😂
Hahaaaa.... brilliant
Another great video Mark! Lovin' the "Top Tips" too. Was the tiling straight onto the new board or did you skim it first? Thanks
Thanks mate..... Tiled onto the boards.
You gotta love a top tip now and again
Some proper graft gone into it, tiles removed by hand, legend, I do it by SDS CHISEL myself, the lazy way 😅, great job pal
Thanks buddy
Great work mate, from a sparky
Hahahaa.... cheers pal glad you liked it.
Get subscribed for more uploads on Wednesdays and Sundays....
Excellent work mate. Can i please ask what the tiler used to fill and level the dodgy walls where it was crumbling away. Have a few areas in my walls that need the same attention so any advice would be brilliant.....cheers in advance
Thanks buddy….. I guess he would of used adhesive buddy
Spot on mate cracking video
Thanks Darlo.... someone’s got to keep you entertained when your in the rig...lol
@@MJTiffPlumbing good man 😉
When tiling all walls and floor in bathrooms and toilets, is it common practice to also have a tile skirt board? no skirt at all or wooden skirt board? Thanks
No skirt…. Just tiles 👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing Thanks 😊
Loved the part where you insulated the wall before tiling. That wooden floor underneath the bath also is such a good idea. Whats a decoupling membrane anyway? Also nice sockets for the trimmers love them. For UK this is actually a very good job.
Thanks
This is a great little install vid. Similar to what I’m thinking of doing when I move the bathroom but mirror image. Was that a regular size bath though? I have to go for a 1500mm bath. Need to tape it all out on the floor first to see if it’s feasible.
Thanks buddy, glad you liked it...
This was a standard 1700x700 P shaped bath.
Yer mark it all out first to make sure it works
Hey there, loving the vid. What panels did you use on the walls when you ripped them down before retiling?
Thanks mate….. as shown in the video, Boarded and tiled
Hi. Great video. Just one question please. How come plasterboard was used for the wall rather than waterproof cement backing board? Thanks
Because my tiler is very good😉
What do you seal around the bath with before tiling? Great video, very informative.
Thanks mate..
I fit the bath and completely seal around it with silicone, then it’s tiled onto.... then I seal again. Bath is fixed solid and water tight.
@@MJTiffPlumbing great, thank you.
Great Video! many thanks. Can I ask you a question re the bath? As a carpenter/handyman i am often asked to re-silicone around a bath with a shower over. Many of the baths I try to seal have a great deal of flex around the edges even when the bath legs/feet are adjusted tightly / correctly. They pull away from the tiles and inevitably leak around the wall. (most are not sealed before tiling like you did) Perhaps they are cheap bath units and the better baths don't flex? Do you ever consider putting a wooden frame around the three supported edges or additional support under the outside ends to give additional support? Cheers!
First off thanks for watching.
Great question.... and yes I do put a wooden frame on some baths that don’t come with very good fixings, a lot do and if fitted correctly the bath won’t move. But some come with rubbish fixings if any, I will then put a frame under the lip exactly how you have discribed.
I will video the next time I do one.... as a lot of people ask
Fantastic fantastic job.
Thankyou mate.... much appreciated....
Good video no waffling on, no bullshit straight in showing how it's done, up there with PB plumber is say
Thanks for the kinds words mate.... appreciate it.
Glad you enjoyed the video.... plenty more to come
Try window polish in a bottle apply your bead spray on wipe with figure and clean figure on toilet role. No need for clean up and shiny bead 😁 top quality work here mate really really good finish.
Thanks mate will give it a try
Looks like you've moved the pipes/taps/shower outlet to opposite end, is that right?... It would've been good if you'd included video of all those adjustments
Can you tile straight onto plasterboard then? I was expecting you to plaster the walls you replaced before tiling.. only asking because iv got to do similar and would save me a job
You didn’t use hardie backer or similar to reboard?
These videos are brilliant. Im currently renovating my bathroom and taking so much vital information from you.
When you came to the pipework for the radiator, how do you debur the pipe without having to drain the heating system? Or do you just drain it enough so there is no pressure in the upstairs radiators?
Im rerouting the pipework so the radiator is on a different wall and I'm at this point now. Not entirely sure what the best approach is.
If your not sure then drain it all down buddy
Great job, seem like a top geeza
Thanks mate..... appreciate that. I’m just a normal guy who’s got his own business having a go at this RUclips thing.....
Glad you liked it fella
What filler is being used on the walls? Thanks
Hi mate. Good video. I do the same kind of stuff plus I’m the tiler aswell. . I’ve liked and subscribed. 👍
Thanks Gaz, glad you liked it and thanks for subscribing buddy.
Plenty more to come..
Looks really good. What brand sealant do you use around the bath
Thanks buddy, I think I used Dow Corning on this bathroom
Been going through your back catalog Mark see on this one no batons on the bath install, was there a reason why not on this one. Do enjoy your channel trying to see them all and been learning a lot.
From memory there is a frame on this install…. It was a while ago
Hi great job 👏
Can you tell me where you got the toilet with counter stop basin set please? This is something I’m also looking for but most combination set do not come with countertop basin, thanks
Thanks mate, I’m sure this was from “QX Bathrooms” 👍🏼👍🏼
You should try using baby wipes to clear up waste silicone, cheaper on the wallet and saves the big wipes for when you really need them. Great vids 👍
Good shout that..... save though Big Wipes for when they are really needed...😉👍🏼
Very nice. Definitely taking your tip of batterning out the cistern. Was the boards tanked? Or isn't that necessary?
SO many people don’t batten the cisterns then wonder why the flush pipe pops out and floods the bathroom when it fills up......
Not tanked, boarded and tiled. When your tiler knows what he’s doing and does it right it’s completely sealed.
Awesome job😎😎😎
Thanks mate
Love the videos pal. What sealant gun do you use?
Thanks mate...... I just use a normal gun from Screwfix 👌🏼👍🏼
Top job that mate 👍
Thanks mate
Great video the end result looks amazing!! I’m about to redo our bathroom at home. Would you recommend using a shower waterproofing kit on the plaster board or are the tiles and grout surfactant at water proofing ?
Thanks, glad you enjoyed the video.
Waterproofing depends on how confident you are in your tiling, my tiler is superb so tiled and grouted this, as with all my other bathrooms and it’s fine.
Some people do and others don’t....
@@MJTiffPlumbing thanks for the advice!
No problem mate
100% you need to waterproof all areas in contact with water, the regulations have changed.
The boards won’t be in contact with water as the tiles prevent that..... that’s what tiling is for. If fitted correctly water will not get through.
Hey, great vid guys.
Couple of questions, do you ever use green moister resistant plaster board or does it not really matter?
Also roughly what would the cost of this be?
Hey Mate
Yes i do use moisture boards aswell....as for the price it depends on so many different things from what suite to the state of the floor and walls.... anything from £4k to £10k is possible depending
Behind the tiles, was there any form of waterproofing placed onto the new wallboards over the shower and bath section ?
Yep
Always back batten 🤪
Was that a Harvey whistle I heard slipped in on the cake shot 🤣
Hahahaaa..... The Harvey Whistle....... he must be rubbing off on me when a camera is running
We use a classi seal on baths and shower trays .and we tank the area .a lot of fitters dont do this .but we find that it gives extra protection from water penetration
We all do what we know works for us….👍🏼
I’ve used classiseal before and don’t rate it……
@MJTiffPlumbing the way you sealed the bath is with two seals .one around the bath and the other when the tiles are fitted.with a classi seal you get more seals.firstly you get the classi seal it's self.then you seal the back of the classi seal .and then you seal the front.then when it's tiled you seal it again.
You know the rad pipes look bad .you know how to get them into the wall.and you know it would look better
I know how classi seal works mate…..🤣
The rad pipes are the way the customer wanted them…… but thanks for your continued comments…
And you know you need to sort your punctuation out 🤣🤣
@@MJTiffPlumbing the customer. Will you stop .so you sold the bathroom that way .the easy way
Cheers mate, nice to watch. Can you give us a bit of costing though just for a rough idea?
Anything between £5k to £10k depending on what you spec, what needs doing etc etc…. So many factors
@@MJTiffPlumbing chew mate but I just meant for that one.
Loved the whole job, how much would a job like this cost with parts and labour?
So many different things come into it I’m afraid, from what suite etc, tile costs, what work needs doing and what local tradesman in your area charge
Nice video, good to see start to finish. When people say “my shower runs off my boiler” do they mean it’s just off the hot and cold feed in the house? Same feed to basin taps etc? Or is it actually from the boiler?
Thankyou mate, much appreciated.
People use that saying usually when the shower runs off the combi boiler... ie “runs off the boiler”
Otherwise they will usually have a pump running off the gravity fed system.
@@MJTiffPlumbing so when it does run off the boiler, does that mean physically piped from the boiler, or from the hot and cold feed around the house?
@@mattsav1329 just off the hot and cold already in the bathroom, I did ours years ago and its a superb shower, very powerful
Hi Mark you did a video a long time a go when you was flushing out rads. And you was using a hammer drill 🔨 to remove the sediment from the rads. I need to get one as we are doing a lot of power flushing now. We have a kamco power flushing machine I know you love the Magna cleanser. Can you help me out thanks thank you Emily from CED plumbing and heating we are over in Northern Ireland
Yep I think everyone is doing a lot of flushes…. I’m trying the Thoroughflush kit soon so keep an eye out
Just come across your page as was looking for instructions on fitting a bath. Should the bath be filled before sealing? to avoid the weight of a filled bath pulling the silicone bead apart. Just looks like the bath is empty in your video, is there something else to do so you don't need to fill the bath?
Great videos thanks
Battening around the bath or fixing the bath properly with solid legs and fixings stops the need for pre filling. People do it but if fitted correctly it’s now an issue. I’ve never had an issue on 25+ years 👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing Thanks, I had all my materials delivered today. I have watched some of your videos for tips and tricks. Wish me luck lol
@@notsonewreselling2518 nice one mate…👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼
When younfitted backing plates for shower did you just screw into tiles and plasterboard or was there timber behind to make a better fix ?? Tia
Screwed into tiles mate 👍🏼👍🏼
@@MJTiffPlumbing many thanks
Just a curiously question, why have you not used moisture plaster board, for the bath and shower wall?
It was very well tiled after and its how I've done it many times before for nearly 30years with zero issues. The next bathroom install video is using moisture boards
Great job, can you link what that silicone tool was please?
Thanks mate... glad you liked it

Just cut the corner off an old credit card 💳 or any similar plastic card does the same job
Is it possible to be a bathroom fitter with just a level 2 diploma in plumbing? Not the NVQ, just the level 2 diploma. Thanks.
Great video mate . Just a quick question I’m just replacing the bath in my dads old house in order to sell it and the cold water pipe on the bath is 20 mm copper pipe . Where will I get a 20mm to 15mm connection thanks
Glad you liked the video mate
20mm......... do you not mean 22mm???
@@MJTiffPlumbing no mate 20 mm put a 22 mm compression fitting on it and it seems loose measured the pipe and it’s 20 mm diameter
Sounds like it’s the old imperial 3/4 pipe mate.....
I know they do a specific end feed fitting from old 3/4 to 22mm..... or have you tried actually tightening the 22mm compression fitting up, use paste & PTFE tap and I “may” work.
That’s the only thing I can suggest mate, I have done as above on the older pipe and it’s been fine.
@@MJTiffPlumbing havnt fully tightened it but I’ll try your suggestion . Thanks for the advice . And just subscribed cheers mate 👍
Thanks mate....
Let me know how you get on buddy
How much was the final cost?
Wheres the classi seal?
Hi Mark, Is that shower electrical or feeds from the combi boiler?
Off the combi 👍🏼
Cracking job by you and the tiler 🫡👍🏼
👍🏼👍🏼
Before the tiling, what sealant do you use to seal the bath to the walls bud? 👍
Silicone…. Dow corning
