I love the recent PSVR2 content from DF. Also, the moment when John talks about Lady Dimitrescu's imposing figure while staring directly at her thicc lower area is extremely funny.

I'm considering getting it with the sale... but now I'm used to quest 3, which has pancake lenses and no image grain. What do you think? Would you say its still worth it?
What I LOVE, about this game, is how subtitle they handled two handed weapons. Unless you have a physical prop, two handed weapons in VR can be a bit jank, due to how you are always varying the distance between your hands. They really thought out a great simple mechanic, the sighting assist, that lines up with your view when aiming. It's just one of those things, where it helps you immersive yourself in the VR experience.
Boneworks/Bonelabs on PCVR (and i assume the version on quest) actually account for this, so you have to hold two handed weapons 'properly' its kinda cool, otherwise you get a bad swing; and that specific game models exactly where your hands are (versus 'sticky' gripping the same two spots) will be cool once other games pick up on this
Just a correction, you don't need to put each bullet in a shotgun like that, it's a bit weird to explain but try to just put one after another like they're all in your hand, it works well once you get used to it.
Finished the game just few days ago on the Psvr2 and I wanna play it again right now. It’s super immersive in vr and feels so much better and scarier than the flat version. Can’t wait for the vr mode for RE4 Remake.
Tip for anyone reloading the shotgun. You just need 1 shotgun shell and then when you're reloading just flick your wrist over and over as you're reloading and it will reload shell after shell instead of having to grab each one from the pouch.
For those new to VR and experiencing motion sickness my advice is that you CAN overcome it. With PSVR 1 I experienced severe motion sickness and even vertigo, whereby I was actually scared to look out of the cockpit in star wars. However, after incrementally increasing my exposure in short 15 to 30 min sessions, going from fairly static games towards those with full motion VR I was able to train my brain to fully accept VR and can now play anything with zero discomfort. I think just following that advice should work for 90 if not 100% of people, but some other things I tried which may or may not have worked was blowing a fan on you while in VR and drinking ginger tea.
Im new and realize the right analog stick doesnt work as the regular controller to look around, it like skips and stays still within the game, is this how its supposed to be?
I can only imagine how good this is. The original VR offering for PS4 for Resident Evil 7 was absolutely incredible. Re8 is not really my thing, but with VR, I'd definitely give it a try.
It's great but the graphical jump is not as big as I expected. Although I think my eyes are a bit poo these days. The controls, reloading, cocking guns and haptics etc makes it. Agree that RE7 is the better game for horror although there's a bloody scary section bienvenido house or whatever it's called.
This video made me realize that an advantage of developing/porting to psvr2 over flat-screen is that devs can calibrate the colors and dark/light for you much better since instead of having to account for a wide range of TV's and Monitors they know exactly what screen you'll be using
One of the weirdest things about this game in VR is seeing your missing fingers on your left hand at all times. I had at least one instance where I pulled out my flashlight with my left hand and flinched for a second as I saw the missing fingers. Sounds really cheesy typed out but man it was just such an immersive experience. Also, was I the only one who was thinking about how scary the Shadows of Rose Beneviento house would be in VR? Like yeah, the baby monster is terrifying in the base game, but just imagine trying to escape those mannequins in VR.
When I was starting out, I was fumbling with the reload action on the pistol so often. Now that I'm like 75-80% done, I feel like John Wick at points with how smoothly I can unload a magazine, pop it out, slam a new one in, rack the slide, and start firing again. It's a part of the game that is actually really fun once you get the rhythm down, cause you kinda feel like a bad ass doing that in the middle of a firefight.
I can tell you this.. the part when you are in the house Beneviento… its the most frightening experience I have ever had in a game. Holy heck its scary!! In the VR version you actually ARE there. 😅🥶
I'm loving that Digital Foundry now covers VR gaming. It would be really interesting to see other reviews of PSVR, Quest and PCVR as well, I would love to see a comparison of No Man Sky on the original PSVR, PSVR 2 and PCVR for example.
PSVR2 is the best and most important thing to happen in the VR space since PSVR1. Good tip about the brightness BTW. I've tried it and it works a treat.
This game is absolutely incredible. No motion sickness for me either, and I’m someone who typically suffers terribly from it. I couldn’t even last ten minutes in RE7 without having to stop. My only minor complaint is there’s a little bit of jank. Certain scenes only play in flat screen, and it’s a bit jarring at times, such as after you defeat Moreau and it immediately cuts to a cinema mode video. It’s a very minor complaint though, as this is one of the best gaming experiences I’ve ever had.
Have PS VR2 games like this and HCotM really improved your motion sickness? I'm really intrigued as I suffered from this terribly on PS VR1. I've been hesitant about PS VR2 because of this. Thanks 👍
@@gogreengameon2146 The first time I played on psvr2 I got motion sickness even when sitting. Little over an hour and I got cold sweat on my brow.. But after I played few more times on psvr2 the motion sickness went away, even with free movement and camera control. No need for fast turning or nothing, no sickness! Just finished re8 yesterday, was a real blast! Played it twice before vr as well. BTW, I turned off the setting for easing up motion sickness on re8, it turned the borders of your vision to black whenever I moved or panned camera on stick. Better with no black borders. That setting might've been what caused the motion sickness in the first place rofl.
@@gogreengameon2146 I’ve been playing PSVR2 since launch day and I’m yet to get motion sick from it. I’ve completed Horizon and am 7 hours in to RE8, using smooth turning with low vignette on each. It’s only the experience of two games, but these are the sort of games that would’ve made me motion sick on PSVR1. I’ve been 100% fine this time around. People are still getting motion sick from it though, so I couldn’t guarantee anything.
@@gogreengameon2146 Yes and No. Some games are just naturally going to make anyone motion sick, especially if you're prone to it. The main issue here is that it's only running at 60fps and it's been shown that 90fps+ is the sweet spot for alleviating motion sickness. So, like he said in the video, he was disappointed some AAA games are only running at 60fps in VR. This is also a cross-gen title, which worries me about the future of PS5 VR... looks like they'll be sticking with 60fps or losing a lot of clarity to push for 90fps. Would be nice if the developers had an anti-motion sickness mode for the people that don't care about the clarity.
Something not mentioned enough I feel: you can't really compare the image output vs the pancake experience because with the VR headset, you see proper 3D, everything has a volume and you perceive that volume exactly like in real life. On a flat screen, you don't, everything is a 2d projection. So just for that alone, the graphical quality with the VR headset is so much better, it adds a new dimension. Also, I think it's still possible to optimize performance further by being more aggressive with the foveated rendering. Maybe companies don't want the "social screen" to look too bad so they're not aggressive enough.
Interesting note about the Hybrid grip mode: it doesn't require that you keep the button depressed. Rather, pressing the grip button will initiate a grab, and letting go of the grip will end the grab. It seems like Capcom noticed that playtesters had a tendency to accidentally release pressure on the button and drop items when they didn't mean to, so this grab mode uses the finger touch detection to improve the object handling experience.
Had a few PCVR headsets over the years including the valve index and I've fallen in love with the PSVR2, The simplicity of setup and the beautiful colours and hdr brightness are breathtaking. I never tried Re7 in VR but i've jumped into village and absolutely love it. VR and horror are the perfect mix imo there just isn't anything else like it. Next games i'm anticipating are saints & sinners (the update and the new one) and SwitchbackVR , the rush of blood sequel. Hoping for a Re7 psvr2 patch and astrobot rescue of course!
I already played through house Beneviento 3 times on flat screen so I know every single thing that will happen and I know how to avoid death. And I was still super creeped out and getting chills and was scared when the baby came out. I can only imagine someone playing that blind for the first time. Might be the scariest experience in media period
I will admit I can still be startled by a jumpscare, but I normally don't get like - scared. I have not played RE8 until I got my PSVR2 (outside of a tiny bit of Castle D), and I still knew what was waiting for me in House Beneviento. Even with that knowledge - that place was still unbelievably creepy. The absolute silence. The lack of enemies. The dim areas. The creepy dolls... I had to play it in bursts, so much so that there would be times I'd just load the game, play for about 2 minutes and go "maybe tomorrow". Then when it was done, it's been smooth sailing lol I never want to do that again.
Great review! Thanks John. Yes, it tranforms the game. I played the RE Village demo on PS5 and enjoyed it somewhat, but felt it was a bit archaic in certain aspects. The additional immersion brought by VR has transformed the expeirence for me.
Its great that they made "VR controller" version, but I wonder, I wouldn't mind many other games would just create a "low cost" VR mode where you play the game in a normal way, but closer to what Senua's Sacrifice did. You being basically immersed in the world as a "floating camera ghost". I want to be immersed dammit! hahaha
Plus, many third person camera games can be easily turned into first person games (although not every game does this smoothly). This could be easily done for all the GTA games (some of which already have a first person mode), Red Dead Redemption, the newer Yakuza games (except for while in combat), Sherlock Holmes, Resident Evil 2 and 3 Remake, etc... To say nothing of all the FPS games: Doom, Call of Duty, Destiny, Battlefield, etc...
Looking the graphics on VR and I am thinking how beautiful they are and close to the normal game, still some of the best graphics out there. PSVR2 is truly amazing!!
Imagine not knowing anything about RE8 and playing the House Beneviento section in VR for the first time. I think you may actually be at risk of being scared to death lol
the only difference between a game like this an Alyx is the fact that you can interact with everything in VR vs select things. You can tell the difference when playing something like Call of the Mountain where you can pick up basically anything. I get we can't have that for something that isn't designed from the ground up, but that extra level of immersion really helps sell it.
8:45 village has now become an unofficial ninja game for me. I'm constantly throwing knives at enemies, windows, vases, and the small hidden jewels in ceilings. Even got lady D right between the eyes once! Then she bodied me 🤪
One thing I appreciated about the VR Mode was the removal of rate of fire as a weapon upgrade, instead the game allows you to trigger pull as fast as you can, which can lead to you feeling like a badass at times. RE4VR did that as well, as I imagine having actual RoF would be quite frustrating in a VR environment.
PSVR2 is incredible, it's crazy how expressive you can be inside VR making games more enjoyable. Tempest Engine for 3D audio doesn't get enough praise.
When reloading the shotgun, you only have to reach down and grab the first shell, then you push in each one to fill up. And ejecting magazines is optional as Ethan will switch them out like he did in the base game. All guns have one and two handed options, the latter steadying your aim. But it makes duel weilding possible so I tend to carry the knife in my off hand to clean up kills and conserve ammo.
Doing my first playthrough in VR. It's a lot of fun. One thing that I've noticed is the disappearance of displacement/tessellation on some surfaces. Brick walls look really flat up close etc.
Is there a reason RE games are the only ones that just took a full game and converted it to VR? If more games did this I would have picked up a headset already.
Because not many people of the total gaming player base across the globe have a headset. It's not mainstream hence doesn't make a lot of money hence why barely anyone makes full games in VR. It's too big a risk to invest in. BUT, games like this and GT7 and No Man's Sky show it can bring in positive attention and maybe even a lot of new players that otherwise wouldn't play
I just finished the game yesterday, and it was such a blast from beginning to end. I've been playing VR on PC for a few years now, and even though Half Life Alyx is an amazing VR game, I had much more fun playing Resident Evil Village. I never felt chills going down my spine in a pancake horror game, but seeing the giant mutant baby chasing me down a hall was just on another level. Sadly, the Mura effect is really visible in this game, which threw me off a few times, but I kind of got used to it. Lucky for me, I had strong VR legs before this, because I can imagine that for a newcomer to VR, this is going to be a hell of motion sickness. But interestingly, I mostly kind of enjoyed the VR cutscenes; some of them are actually really crazy fun to experience, some of them more on the awkward side. In the end, overall, it's one of, if not the best, VR games out there.
Wait, you had access to the PCVR version of RE:Village and you just waited until now to give it a run-through? I could see re-visiting the PSVR2 version to see the official integrations, but there was no way I was gonna miss out on that waiting on Capcom for the PSVR2 release. If you haven't already, definitely check out the RE:2 Remake VR. It's quite a bit better than RE:Village VR, at least insofar as RE:2 Remake is a better game than Village - though I also grew up with the original PSX version, so I am a bit bias. Unfortunately, because the game wasn't designed from the beginning to be a VR title, you'll notice behind the scenes staging/rendering wonkiness that isn't present in Village PCVR and PSVR2. Especially if you choose First Person perspective in cutscenes.
Global acclaim to this release can't be overstated. Excellent demonstration of this experience John. I'll very much look forward to the hour-long letsplay-style DF retro 10+ years from now from you. Also, I waited for some reason to play RE:7, I think this is now that reason! Thank you John!
Hybrid games like this have been rumoured for ages (thanks to PSVR 2 Without Parole) and it really seems like the best possible outcome for a stable VR marketplace, for Sony and the developers. Make all of the development costs back on your big AAA game with the flat, traditional version of the game, and then put in slightly more effort to produce a VR game and capture the PSVR 2 market as well. A win-win!
Thanks for the explanation with the double vision, I didn’t understand why I couldn’t read some text sometimes, I had to close one eye to clearly see it.
Absolutely amazing experience can't wait for Re4 remake VR for me Village was worth the entry price alone I've been playing VR since the early days of the Vive (2016) and I've never played a VR game as well realised as RE Village.
I played the resi 4 remake demo in psvr2 huge cinema mode. It was awesome. Leon was life sized. Everything was huge. I played standing up and it felt like I was walking behind him as he went through the game. Because everything is pitch black inside the headset and all I could see was the game on a huge cinema screen it turned the atmosphere up another level. It was an amazing experience. I've played a few non VR ps5 games like this and really enjoyed them. It really adds to the value of buying psvr2 having a personal cinema screen to play games, watch youtube, and movies.
I was actually shocked by the level of quality on display here. I took your advice from the previous video and bought an extension cord for the headset to bring in out into my 4x4 meter play area. Physically wandering around the spooky rooms of village with the flashlight is really something special! The only real downside is the clunkiness of the interactivity with the drawers and keys and such, in comparison to something truly triple A like Half Life Alyx.
Enjoyed the VR coverage by DF as it’s a slightly different angle than most reviewers. A more granular analysis of visual quality I would say. Always fun hearing your perspective!
I love the fact that DF is now reviewing vr games thanks to psvr2. Thank you! Personally I'd have liked an option to use the dual sense. Although the gunplay with hand tracking is quite good
You missed out on one feature John : Dual-Wielding :D You can dual wield anything in VR mode, 2 pistols, 2 shotguns or whatever combination you want, try it, it makes for great posing screenshots :))
I literally finished miranda doing that, 1911 in one hand, wolfabane in the other and just mag dumped. Possibly one of the coolest moments ever had in a game.
John you don't have to keep going into your pocket to get shells one at a time. Just grab one and keep "inserting" the shells to do them all at once quickly. I don't think the game tells you this.
The game also does not tell you how to reload the Grenade Launcher. Definitely spent many minutes running around the Moreau boss fight trying to reload my grenade launcher. (You have to remove the empty shell by hitting the face button)
Thank you SO much for the various VR tips sprinkled throughout the video. I almost was ready to give up on this game because of how it forced perspective during cutscenes making my body on the floor in game while I’m standing or seated in VR by default. Didn’t know you could pause and turn that off. Now this game is far more playable for me. Thanks again!
This gen games wouldn't have too many robust vr modes but there are tons of last gen titles that could be used as a basis for vr modes. I guess the graphics on the psvr2 resident evil 8 could be closer compared to the ps4 version so it'd still be amazing to see conversions of dmc hd collection or control or Jurassic world evo 2 appear on vr. Also wish to see a Wii sports clone too.
RE8 GT7 and Horizon are the 3 essential and mind-blowing titles to start with, then there are a bunch of cheap remakes of classic VR titles that are well worth a look too!
I picked up Pistol Whip last night, even though I had already bought it on two other platforms, just to have a fun gun game to play that wouldn't make me crap my pants ;).
Fun fact . You don't have to hold down the grip button. You click it once then just have your finger resting on the grip button . You don't have to keep the grip button pressed down after the weapon is in your hand
Played a bit of RE8 on my PS VR2 and I decided I needed to stop--it's already amazing, so I'm gonna wait for my prescription inserts to arrive so it's double amazing. I'd also like a good 3rd party cushion replacement for the forehead by that time, but I'll be diving back in regardless once I can see the screens better!
Anyone else notice the smudges and smears on their lens? I tried cleaning it off with optical microfiber cloth but it looks like it's on the inside. You can see where little suction cups were on the lens. You gave to use a flashlight to see it.
Remember that 60FPS ist actually 120 FPS - since it has calculate 2x times 60 FPs for each eye. So the Version we see, has to support 2x 60 frames already. I agree about the HDR Brightness in some cases, the games look a bit to bright and therefore washed out. Lowering the brightness makes them look more balanced - the tradeoff is that bright parts dont pop anymore. The way they implemented VR in a Flatgame afterwards is good enough for most games - does not brake any developers bank and will bring already released titltes back to life. Would love to see more of that...much much much more.
I tried the demo for a bit two nights ago and while I have solid VR legs, I'm afraid I don't have any horror game legs ;). I made it as far as the end of the basement corridor under the first house you can enter, and could feel my anxiety level going through the roof, and not in a pleasant way. I may have to give it another shot, but not right before bedtime!
@@kelvingriffiths6017 After that, there was no "later" 😂. I never liked horror movies, and as it turns out, horror VR games are even more intense. Not that it's a surprise.... 😂
Have to correct you slightly on the hybrid mode of gripping (depressing the button can be misinterpreted as keeping the button pressed) - it combines the normal function of toggle grip with the function of the capacitive touch sensitivity of the grip button. You click the button to pick something up, but you only have to have your finger in contact with the button to maintain the grip on the item (you do not need to keep the button pressed). Once I realised this, I found out that this is the best solution I have experienced in any VR game on any VR controller, particularly when it comes to throwing something. Throwing the knife is a lot more intuitive and easier to achieve with this arrangement. One of my friends tried it (Vive pro and pico 4 owner) and he said exactly the same immediately - best solution for knife throwing he's ever experienced in VR.
John doing his best not to let the foveated rendering give away where he was looking when spying on Lady D through the window.

Capcom nailed it once again.
A full fledged VR version of their game, no stinginess. If only we could have more developers like them.
We need Sony to pay more devs for a VR mode. Imagine Dead Island 2 in VR. Capcom probably wouldn't have bothered with VR if Sony didn't foot the bill.
Yeah, more devs that lock modes like this to specific platforms because they're money whores. We definitely need more of that.

I really hope they decide to give us PSVR2 support for RE7 (maybe a Remaster)
I hope they add VR2 support to Re2, Re3 & RE7.
We already know RE4 is coming in VR. Hope to see others get a similar treatment
They forgot I guess
It's a whole different experience in VR, freaking amazing
Yup! I beat the game 3 times the normal way when it came out. Playing it VR was a different experience! So cool
Its is a very cool experience in VR. You should go for it if you loved the VR version of RE7
I can assure you, it's excellent
Yes RE7 is the better game👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
It's great but the graphical jump is not as big as I expected. Although I think my eyes are a bit poo these days. The controls, reloading, cocking guns and haptics etc makes it. Agree that RE7 is the better game for horror although there's a bloody scary section bienvenido house or whatever it's called.
The story for this game is crap
This is one of those games where I'm thankful that I'm completely unaffected by sickness, let's me enjoy the game at its absolute fullest
This video made me realize that an advantage of developing/porting to psvr2 over flat-screen is that devs can calibrate the colors and dark/light for you much better since instead of having to account for a wide range of TV's and Monitors they know exactly what screen you'll be using
Great point!
These games are pretty sweet in VR.
😱
Imagine if the Mannequins moved when you blink using the eye tracking. Damn shame the DLC didn't get VR.
@@WolverineBatman wut?? DLC not in VR? wtf??
Those squeaky sounds right behind you with the 3D audio 😬
@@MrVoland44 the DLC is third person only so it was never meant to be played in first person, let alone VR. It is a shame because it’d be cool.
Tell me about it. I finished it last night and chris section was so freaking cool in vr.
I completed it a couple of days ago, never played the flat version. It was an amazing game in VR and I will for sure play through it several times.
I can tell you this.. the part when you are in the house Beneviento… its the most frightening experience I have ever had in a game. Holy heck its scary!! In the VR version you actually ARE there. 😅🥶
For me reason to not play it this way, I just cannot.
You are not wrong.
Been playing this in VR and I’m blown away by how good it is! Fantastic review and thanks for the tips!
I am obsessed with this experience
6:06 I laughed out loud at when John said "translation of visuals to VR is certainly interesting" with a clip of him craning up at Lady Dimitrescu.
This game just might be one of my favourite gaming experiences
I find this game truly amazing its my favourite at the moment just brilliant
I'm loving that Digital Foundry now covers VR gaming.
It would be really interesting to see other reviews of PSVR, Quest and PCVR as well, I would love to see a comparison of No Man Sky on the original PSVR, PSVR 2 and PCVR for example.
Most intense videogame I've ever played, glad I waited for the VR version. What a masterpiece
PSVR2 is the best and most important thing to happen in the VR space since PSVR1. Good tip about the brightness BTW. I've tried it and it works a treat.
Nah that's meta quest 2 and 3 and that's stand alone no cord or PC or PS5 needed . But I understand what you ment
@@horineesgaming7354 But you lose a lot of performance and doesn't look as good..
@@unothgor Good to know dude 👍
I really love this feature, it feels super natural in this game and RE4
God I need to play this. RE7 VR on PSVR is still in my top 3 VR games of all time.
It's great in VR , never played it in Pancake mode - but House Beneviento nearly broke me :).
I already played through house Beneviento 3 times on flat screen so I know every single thing that will happen and I know how to avoid death. And I was still super creeped out and getting chills and was scared when the baby came out. I can only imagine someone playing that blind for the first time. Might be the scariest experience in media period
FUCK'S SAKE! House Beneviento creeped the everloving heck out of me. I scared myself more finding out there's a baby in there.
Yes bloody hell! That's the most pant filling part by miles.
Damn it broke me on a flat screen, I hope knowing what happens will lessen the blow on my VR run.
Massive is exactly how I would describe the upgrade! Massive is the amount of time I've been using this incredible creepy game! Massive thanks Capcom
This looks incredible. Would love to play it.
Great review! Thanks John. Yes, it tranforms the game. I played the RE Village demo on PS5 and enjoyed it somewhat, but felt it was a bit archaic in certain aspects. The additional immersion brought by VR has transformed the expeirence for me.
I played the demo for this and I LOVED IT, the accuracy is spot on when aiming your gun and I felt like I was able to take down enemies much quicker.
Its great that they made "VR controller" version, but I wonder, I wouldn't mind many other games would just create a "low cost" VR mode where you play the game in a normal way, but closer to what Senua's Sacrifice did. You being basically immersed in the world as a "floating camera ghost". I want to be immersed dammit! hahaha
That disjointed camera control leads to motion sickness. Room scale VR with full camera control through the player's eyes is the way to go.
It’s very fun to play this in VR, maybe most immersive game I’ve ever played besides half life alyx. it’s an amazing experience
Also you only have to click to hold. You can let the button unclick and it wont fall. It uses the capacitive buttons to keep it held after that.
Then she bodied me 🤪
Same. I spent a ridiculous amount of time perfecting throwing the knife. Its trickier than it looks initially.
Nothing to complain about here.
Either play it or don't.
Absolutely incredible experience 💯
Is there a reason RE games are the only ones that just took a full game and converted it to VR? If more games did this I would have picked up a headset already.
La noire vr was a lot of fun hope that gets a psvr2 port bc u could drive and walk around the whole map
NMS is another, tho the resolution isn't the best, the immersion you get with it compensates it all and then some!
They were paid a boatload to port RE series to VR.
Agreed, no man’s sky is awesome in VR
Brilliant Video DF.
RE8: Village VR Mode is looking outstanding and is looking like a Must Play for anyone who has gotten the PSVR2.
Yeah the first time the baby appeared was crazy!! I lucked out and beat that part on the first try. I was pretty happy about that!
I love how powerful the guns feel. Especially the shotgun, love the vibration of the controllers and headset every time I pull the trigger.
RE7 VR with pumped graphics and resolution would be a great addition to PSVR2
Global acclaim to this release can't be overstated. Excellent demonstration of this experience John. I'll very much look forward to the hour-long letsplay-style DF retro 10+ years from now from you.
Also, I waited for some reason to play RE:7, I think this is now that reason! Thank you John!
Pick up a used PSVR! I did just to play RE7 and do not regret it!
Astro, Hitman, and Wipeout hold up really well as well. But I’m moving on to Village on the 2 now. Can’t wait!
This game is fantastic and I thought the graphics look brilliant, no complaints here just brilliant
It's absolutely amazing. I loved every second of it and I plan on beating it many more times in VR.
Came for the review, stayed because you properly pronounced Dimitrescu 🖤
I love the fact that DF is now reviewing vr games thanks to psvr2. Thank you! Personally I'd have liked an option to use the dual sense. Although the gunplay with hand tracking is quite good
The woods which are not scary at all in non VR are absolutely terrifying in oled hdr
I like how the weapons with more punch to them (shotgun, rifle) can be felt in the headset itself when you fire, since it has its own haptics too.
VR makes gaming fun again
John you don't have to keep going into your pocket to get shells one at a time. Just grab one and keep "inserting" the shells to do them all at once quickly. I don't think the game tells you this.
he seems quite uncoordinated in these videos
I love John's videos! Always thorough and on point.
RE8 GT7 and Horizon are the 3 essential and mind-blowing titles to start with, then there are a bunch of cheap remakes of classic VR titles that are well worth a look too!
Switchback VR arrives next week. Another exclusive I expect great things from!
I picked up Pistol Whip last night, even though I had already bought it on two other platforms, just to have a fun gun game to play that wouldn't make me crap my pants ;).
Don’t sleep on Pavlov either. Don’t remember the last time I laughed so hard playing a multiplayer game. It’s super addictive.
Wow how amazingly amazing is that amazing amazingly amazing
LOL, Love that John called the flatscreen version pancake mode. One of us! One of us!
Love the pointer on adjusting the brightness! Exactly what I come to DF for!
Wow, this is quite impressive. Very nicely done, devs!
Haha and it definitely gets crazier than that
No offence but if that was your line god help you later in the game. Escpecially at a certian cliffside house.
@@kelvingriffiths6017 After that, there was no "later" 😂.
I never liked horror movies, and as it turns out, horror VR games are even more intense. Not that it's a surprise.... 😂
This is why John is the best. Thanks mate
Wonder now what VR will be like for RE4:R?
Great vid, have the PC guys got a petition up and running yet?
Amazing how this has a free vr update...with this and GT7 it makes the headset RRP well worth the price.
