    I don't get how someone can go from stealing a stereo to murdering a mother and burying a baby alive. Just for stealing a stereo... It's disgusting.

      i find it hard to believe bc most people who steal do it in the day and they will run if needed cos they aren’t trying to get shot. He has no gun but a knife ready. And why would anyone assume no one is home at night esp a mother and baby. Maybe he was escalating for the thrill and once he did it he suddenly realized he wished he hadn’t and felt badly. I just find it hard to believe and i believe people, alot, do things esp when young without thinking of the consequences but he stabbed and buried and threw a baby in grave. He was 17 not 13yrs old.( still be real disturbing)and Is find a touch more believable with a gun cos it’s easy and kids this age are impulsive and to actually do it and then realize how quickly you can kill someone’s in an instant. and deeply regret it after, just seems more likely. Dude stabbed her. There’s just something that seems off and i know kids are dumb but damn. a burglar would run. maybe a youth burglar w a gun might shoot but he’d still run. This was across the street from his house and it feels like he had all the time in the world. i just don’t buy that he cases the place and the stereo is what he wanted. you can also stop stabbing somone plus he tried to leave cos he was ‘scared.’Dad did the right thing. I just find this odd bc it seems a little planned. we only know his side. wouldn’t be surprised if he planned or did rape that woman. i’ve known thieves as a youth. They run and they typically make sure no one is home

      @@sarahfitzpatrick3402 I was thinking the same thing. It doesn't add up. If he was a mere burglar, why did he have a knife ready? If he cased the house, didn't he know their schedule? There was no mention if they tested for rape but I definitely wouldn't rule it out. And to do that at such a young age, too.

      I dont know how anybody can see somebody convicted of that and be ok with them continuing to breathe the same air the rest of us do.
      The Victims family should not have to live knowing this mongrel can relive this crime anytime he wants to, like a sexual escapade.

    In the letter he wrote he said "I hadn't yet learned about the world before being thrust into a totally different one", the same could be said about the baby he killed, who never got a chance of growing up and experiencing the world and learn or even have a conversation with her mother.

  • @protodvd
    @protodvd Год назад +35

    God, the worst (unspoken) part of this is wondering how early in the conversation the father connected the dots and thought back to the burglary investigation - how long before the son said "I killed them" that the father knew. And worse, still, the moment when the father went from wondering how the baby died to knowing how... ugh. Glad the father did the right thing.

    That was a very haunting story. The horror is really cemented at the murderer himself after being in the clear and all was said and done needing to confess anyway. The way he put it in his own words too. That really is the worst death imaginable. I bet if he had walked away with just the mother's life on his mind, he would've lived with that maybe. But then he really thought about how needlessly cruel what he did was.

    I went to high school with Raymund in Huntsville. He was a nice guy who sat with me and the other " metal heads " at school during lunch. He wasnt a troublemaker and his girlfriend was very involved in her church. I remember when it happened the town searched and searched for the victims. The thing that creeps me out the most is i have many memories of sitting around the lunch table having many a laugh after he had done it and we never suspected a thing. He was actually a funny dude that got along with everyone. I dont know how he was able to maintain that side of his personality knowing what he did and that everyone was searching for the victims of what he did. Personally I feel like he owes a life. Two infact. In Texas, you are triable as an adult at 17 years old. However, having been to TDC myself, I guarantee that the rest of his life is going to suck.

    I'm not pro-death penalty, generally speaking. But, this was awful. If the death penalty exists, it's for atrocities like this. At 17, no you aren't an adult. But, you should know by then that everything you were doing and had done was WRONG. Texas is almost as weird as Florida.

    • @PeakedInterest
      @PeakedInterest  Год назад +1

      I'm a bit torn on this one. I think for people who physiologically can't feel empathy (serial killers mass murderers etc) perhaps the death penalty is ok since rehab isn't really possible.
      For people who show genuine remorse and understanding that what they did was abhorrent I don't think death penalty should exist.
      Research shows that death penalty doesn't deterr capital crime and the punishment model in general is less effective than the Scandinavian Rehab model in reducing recividism.

    The good news about the commutations of the original sentences given to these pieces of shit is that if the perverts who commute them go a step further and get them released and a distraught family member of the victim slams an axe blade right in the middle of his forehead, they know they won’t get the death penalty.
    Or are these commutations only for murderers of innocent victims?

However he had been casing the house and would know who lived there and a little about when they came in and out. Burglars don’t want to run into anyone and they typically come in the day. Why would he assume a mother and child were out at night and not asleep. I just find that odd. what made him think that. cos lots of people when they leave will leave lights and the stereo on so it looks like someone is home. And stabbing is pretty close up thing to do and he clearly was ready to do it if he had the knife out. we have enough guns in the US for every man woman child and baby to have their own. Most people caught stealing are gonna run bc they dont want to get shot or killed. He had no gun but had his knife already at the ready. Maybe he does feel bad. maybe he got it in his head he was a killer and after he couldn’t deal with it. Or he got a rush thinking someone might be home.
