I bought one of these on release and could not be happier. The blue dial is simply stunning and changes dramatically depending on the light. I love the hands, numerals, pointer date, and the domed crystal (basically everything on the face of the watch). Very high finishing on the case, and 38mm is perfect for my smaller wrists Only downsides are no finishing on the movement (Stowa offers this at about 1k less), which isn't a huge deal. And also the lack of bracelet option, which I am hoping Oris offers in a future 38mm release
I had the 40mm version and sold it because I thought it was a bit too big for my 6.25" wrist. I think this would be perfect for me. I also had the bracelet but always preferred it on leather or a NATO.
Gorgeous. I love to dress classic so I generally go for small thin classic watches. Small wrist. Do you think it would fit nicely under the cuff? Thanks.
I have recently purchased the grey and feel this is one of the best watches for the price. Very high quality in all areas with exception of the movement, however I’m more than happy with a Salita at this price point. Great review
Thank you for mentioning the lack of AR and high glare. I love Oris as a brand but I just can't buy a dial that I can't see well due to glare. Sinn or Breitling are great alternatives but I'd love to add Oris especially cal 400s to my collection if they fix the glare :)
Great video. Your video provided much better images than Oris’ website does (Oris, your website could use a refresh). I wish the pointer date was red, it always looks fun to me. If these also had sub seconds, I’d go buy one today
As you know, I’m a bracelet guy myself. However in instance, I am reversing myself. The deer leather straps look wonderful, and I actually don’t care for that bracelet. The watches themselves are very legible, easy to read, and a nice design
I do like the 38/39/40mm size, I think Oris needs to release more of their offerings like the aquis relief or GMTs in these more accessible and popular sizes. The average wrist size is 6.25 to 7.25 inches in which these three sizes work perfectly with and are the most popular for these sized wrists. Not a fan of all their special editions only being offered in 43.5mm. I would pick up their GMT or their aquis relief in a heartbeat if they came in a 40 or 39mm. I know they offer some of their aquis in 39.5 but all of their 39.5 aquis' dials are just to plain for my liking. I really really like their aquis relief, their GMT, their titanium aquis with the black ceramic bezel and radiant Grey dial. Absolutely gorgeous and have that pop. But of course, only offered in the less popular size of 43.5 which I find a very odd choice. Why not offer these more premium watches in the more popular and accessible 40mm size?
38mm case size sounds perfect. That green dial one looks tremendous, but I wish it had the red tip on the pointer date. Additionally, 19mm lug width? Really? And I do wish there was an option for a bracelet.
Wow what magnificent places you’ve been too Bruce. Fitting pics for these watches that’s for sure. I’m an Oris fanboy love that grey very much. Haven’t got a pointer date as yet.
I have a green dial version. I want two things for this watch. 1. Bracelet, 19*15 is too rare if I wanna use original Oris pin buckle 2. Mineral case back to sapphire glass…
I thought your black and white video was part of you trying to show off the color of the watch’s, but I think that might have been wrong, about half way in. Either way great video as usual. 🤔👍
How you rate this against something like the CW sealander, that has same or similar movement? In your opinion does the Oris have the extra quality as well as the heritage to warrant a significant hike in cost?
Hi Bruce, considering that you have experienced both, what is the dial's color that you preferred on the Cervo Volante and the full bronze? This is a model I've been looking at for a long time now and sooner or later I would like to add one in my collection. Thanks.
I have to say I'm a big fan of the pointer date complication where you can still read the date in whatever position the hour and minute hands are in. I've no issue with the Sellita based movements either. I may be wrong (I usually am, just ask my ex GF) but I think this collection uses the same case as the in house designed Cal 403 version with the pencil hands. Maybe we may see a cal 403 with the old Arabic numerals and cathedral hands? I already have the 40mm Ox Blood dial but if I didn't I would probably consider the grey dial as that has the red crescent date indicator. The others are also great but that crescent is almost the same colour as the dial and to my old eyes could be harder to see at an easy glance.
What a lovely release. Love the colours and love the idea of deer leather, but done in a sustainable way. I agree the blue version is best. I think going forward I’d love to see the Calibre 400 used in the big crown though
I hate this video. Sorry. My bank account hates this video. I think the blue might be my first ever big purchase... Never spend over 1k on any watch.. Close to it. But never over. For me and my life, I think this is the Swiss army knife. Dressy. Fieldy. Casual....y. And the colour...
Bruce I love your channel and your reviews. I am confused around the statement of sustainable leather. What is sustainable about killing an animal for the leather. How does a dead animal re grow its hide when it's dead. Using part of a hide that was previously disguarded doesn't make it sustainable. I think this is a case of marketing dictating the conversation and its miss leading.
Its not misleading. The red deer population is regulated in Switzerland. Yearly about 15k deer are culled to preserve the balance of the ecosystem. Those deer hides that would go to waste are sourced by Cervo Volante and ulitized in their products. They use no animal farms like other leather good companies do. CV uses natural materials in the tanning process and does it all in Switzerland. I think it's a great idea to use the skins that would otherwise be discarded. Since the population is carefully regulated it's a sustainable process. If you are adverse to any type of animal regulation you may not like this process.

Awesome Watch, how long does it take to fully wind from 0 to 5 days?
Will get mine tomorrow! 😊
Just bought the blue version. It's simply stunning. I have multiple watches including Rolex and Tudor but this Oris is perfect for me.
I had the 40mm version and sold it because I thought it was a bit too big for my 6.25" wrist. I think this would be perfect for me. I also had the bracelet but always preferred it on leather or a NATO.

This particular blue dial at 38mm in a BRONZE case would be something I’d see myself wearing regularly

Finally a 38mm pointer date 😄 the blue and green ones are the most playful imo
Perfect size for the Pointer Date 😍
Any thoughts on the pointer date in the blue dial and green dial watches. Its unusual as all the other pointer dates are red?
I'm an Oris fan and I really like the new pointer date colors they are beautiful.
Yes love it; just bought it & agree regarding bracelet. Thanks!
Great video. Your video provided much better images than Oris’ website does (Oris, your website could use a refresh). I wish the pointer date was red, it always looks fun to me. If these also had sub seconds, I’d go buy one today
Love these - and concur with your dial color preferences.
ABSOLUTELY in love with that blue-dialled one! Oh. My. God.
As you know, I’m a bracelet guy myself. However in instance, I am reversing myself. The deer leather straps look wonderful, and I actually don’t care for that bracelet. The watches themselves are very legible, easy to read, and a nice design

You'll enjoy some of Oris's upcoming announcements I'll say that 😎 also take a look at the 41.5 mm aquis. On wrist I think it is ideal!
Great ending 🤣 nice watch but think I would choose the rega Fleet over these.
38mm case size sounds perfect. That green dial one looks tremendous, but I wish it had the red tip on the pointer date. Additionally, 19mm lug width? Really? And I do wish there was an option for a bracelet.
Every time I watch your videos, I end up with the watch the next day! Omg
Wow what magnificent places you’ve been too Bruce.
Fitting pics for these watches that’s for sure.

I have a green dial version.

Fantastico 😍😍😍a Maggio sarà mio, stufo di aspettare 😅🤣🤣🔝🔝🎉bellissima recensione 👍💪

I really wish the steely Grey/blue that is offered in 40 mm was available in this 38 mm size.
How you rate this against something like the CW sealander, that has same or similar movement? In your opinion does the Oris have the extra quality as well as the heritage to warrant a significant hike in cost?
Beautiful dial color

whats the stap size/lug width? 20mm or 18mm? 🤔
why not edit out the interruption at the end? just curious
What a lovely release. Love the colours and love the idea of deer leather, but done in a sustainable way. I agree the blue version is best. I think going forward I’d love to see the Calibre 400 used in the big crown though
They do offer a couple BCPD models with the in house movement. And I'm sure that will expand over time
Hi great video Bruce. Have you any idea how much these lovely watches are retailing for? Thanks in advance.
2000
@@BruceWilliams Thanks again, 38mm is my perfect size. I have the older pointer date but at 36mm it's a bit too small on my 7 inch wrist.
👍
Really love the vintage aspects and new colours of these oris release’s. Share your choice of favourite colour. Great vid Bruce!!.
Blue is my favorite of these three. Followed by gray
PS, 36mm would be very cool too
Oris Pointer Date in alpine blue aka " The alpine Tiffany blue "dial
Lol it looks nothing like that shade of turquoise
The watch is great except for its 19mm lugs. I hate 19 mm lugs. Why can't they make it with 20mm. No one likes 19mm or 21mm lugs/straps.
I hate this video.
Sorry. My bank account hates this video.
I think the blue might be my first ever big purchase... Never spend over 1k on any watch.. Close to it. But never over.
