My first ever watch as a 10 year old was an Oris. A birthday surprise! So now, at 64, I just bought my second Oris and in a sense I feel I’m turning back the hands of time.
Seeing Teddy speak highly about Oris on many occasions was extremely helpful for me. I just bought my very first one (the Aquis Cherry) three days ago and I can already tell that this one is here for the long-haul. And I’m lucky to have an AD fairly close by, so I was able to get that positive in-person experience that I think we sometimes overlook now with the advent of online shopping.
I bought the same one a few months ago and can’t be happier. I love how Oris plays with the red color on the dial and the quality is great. Most people i see wearing a watch wear a black, green or blue watch and i really like that the red colour is something different.
@@thatmemeguy1275 red is such a nice colour yet it's so overlooked, or like you said, people usually pick the other colours. Would definitely rock an Aquis Cherry myself. Beautiful watch.
Oris is one of those brands that has (subjectively) great looking models along all their lines and keep things fresh, their releases the past 5 years have been phenomenal and really hoping they become more mainstream. Amazing value for money especially as noted by Teddy, their attention to finishing. Big fan, great video
I don't currently own a watch with a green dial and after seeing the Okavango, wow. I wonder what that looks like in person. The color and texture look amazing. I don't buy watches specifically for a dial but, that might be close to changing my mind.
Definitely one of my favorite watch brands! I have a 70s Oris super which my granduncle used to own until I found while clearing out my grandparent's shed. Even though it doesn't run all that reliably, I still love wearing it and it pretty much perfectly fits my small wrists. I would no doubt keep this thing running as long as I can!
Terrific “deep dive” into Otis, Teddy. Your followers and I benefit by the level of professionalism you devote to such subjects. And you never just rush through a video to get more “content” pushed out. I’m saving for a Diver’s collection piece since I’ll likely never SCUBA or even snorkel while wearing such a beautiful piece. Again, my thanks. I’m leavening much thanks to you.
I've become a bit of a fan of Oris over the last year or so. As you say they are not afraid to go in it's own direction. I love the pointer date and for the cost it's great value for money. The Aquis is a unique design and is incredibly comfortable on the wrist with arguably some of the best executed dials around. The cal 400 is not cheap and is a significant premium over the 3rd part movements but it's an incredible introduction, 5 days juice from fully wound mainsprings (it has two of them) and 10 year service and warranty shows faith in the movement. Yes there are some quirks but nothing significant in my view. As for the lovely Atelier collection there is something about the Atelier Complication moon phase that just shines. The etched moon is not just a plain disc, the textured dial etc is in my humble opinion gorgeous. I also applaud Oris for supporting different organisations and clean up schemes. I really want to shake the hand of the Oris employee who suggested the Upcycle with every dial unique. I have one and every time it's in the wrist I think I can spot something new that I'd not noticed before.
Love Oris, and frequently recommend them to those new to the watch world and looking to get started. Personally own a Williams F1 Chrono and love it (it's my daily 'beater').
I just bought a divers 65 in steel/bronze with a black face and absolutely love it. I thought I was shopping for a black Bay 58 but tried the Oris on and it totally won me over. Photos absolutely do not do it justice and the bronze bezel is gorgeous.
Bravo! I own two Oris watches, including the Aquis GMT Date you show at 3:15. It’s a terrific travel watch, and my Diver 65 has the vintage look with a modern movement. I also bought the HanGang special edition for a relative in Korea and he loves it. See an Oris on someone’s wrist and you know you’re in the company of a watch enthusiast. It’s almost like a secret handshake. It’s true the Caliber 400 movement put them into Tudor and other similar brand price ranges, but none can equal the 10 year warranty Oris offers.
Wow Teddy... what crispy, clear and awesome studio setup. Love it! Chapeau! Love the background and the lighting... maybe you could show us a bit more of if. Maybe a behind the scene video... or at least a gear list. It really, really looks awesome. Keep it coming!
Thank you! We can do another behind the scenes on how we make a video in the future. I don’t think anyone knows how long it takes to get a video made haha.
I have a diver 65, and it is a much better watch that it’s specs. The thin case profile and dramatic taper makes it my most comfortable watch, and way more comfortable than any watch anywhere near its price point. The crystal has a ton of character. Definitely a watch someone should try on if they don’t understand the hype
I can’t believe there’s a Clemente inspired piece. As a kid, I was a baseball fanatic and used to read about the old time players and had a huge admiration for him. He died in a plane crash while on a humanitarian mission to aid earthquake survivors. Really appreciate Oris paying tribute to him.
My father’s watch was an Oris rectangular back in the 1960’s. I have it now. This watch and your passion for the brand have incline me to get a Aquis with the rubber band. Thank yoy
Just bought an 43.5mm Green Dial Aquis Divers Watch to add to my collection and I absolutely love this watch, the green dial stands out and I had many comments already of how beautiful the watch looks, for the price I paid it’s so worth it because you get so much watch for not crazy prices.
Teddy is the embodiment of professionalism. Clear, relevant, factual, well-groomed, well-spoken and most importantly not preachy or driven by any agenda other than to pass on information that helps the watch buyer/collector. Even when he gives his opinion it's moderated and not delivered from a position of higher authority or entitlement. My only minor gripe is I wish he would slow his delivery just a tad... sometimes he seems like those flight attendants explaining the safety drill as the plane is taxiing. For your own health, Teddy, remember to breathe!
Huge respect for Oris commemorating the great Roberto Clemente. Really enjoying some of these in-depth videos brands. I bought a Hamilton Khaki Automatic Field watch because of Teddy'd review. It's my first quality watch. I hope to get one or two more in the next few years. I'd love to see a review - inexpensive to expensive - on solar watches as I'm looking into one right now.
Loved to see this kind of Brand deep dive video. Great work Teddy !! Keen to see more such brand deep dive videos right from brand history to the present brand position
Thanks for the video!! As always, amazingly detailed and articulate in the presentation. I first became aware of Oris in the early 2000s as a friend wore one and I loved the look and certainly the smell of that vanilla strap. Since those days I wanted one and it was you video on "why to own a watch" which set my sights on getting one. My lovely wife surprised me and we bought an Aquis 39.5 from you for my 50th birthday!! Couldn't be happier and love the watch. I have such a sentimental connection to it and your team were amazing to work with. Hoping to look at a BC at some point in the future as I'd someday like to pass one on to each of my sons. I'll without a doubt be making my purchase from you! Thanks again for the great video.
This is another classic review from you Teddy, you're always spot on. I would just like to commend Oris (not that I have 1 Aquis GMT in my collection) in their being independent, that's showing to the Big Boys that they can also do things on their own, Go your own way ORIS....
Going into my eighth year with my black polished stainless steel Aquis and the watch looks as if it just came out of the box. Bear in mind I beat the crap out of it in eight years. Wonderful company, wonderful watches, wonderful support, and they are definitely working-man's blue collar luxury Swiss watches that are a joy to own.
Another Oris lover here! I currently own an Aquis and a BC3 Advanced which I find myself using more than others in my collection. Love your channel! keep up the good work
Indeed Oris makes a statement from my point of view. I have wished this brand for such a long time and was able to have it two days ago...Oris Big Crown ProPilot in black day/date. The design of this model i bought represents my personality in a way, all the reason I had wished this design for such a long time. Thank you, Teddy for all the detailed knowledge on watches!
My favourite brand by far. No other brand makes so many watches that I simply love the design language off. Aquis, Divers 65, Pro Pilot, Big crown, Pointer Date, artelier. And I love their boldness that comes from fierce independence and fantastic identity. Can’t say enough about Oris. Also a fan of Sinn.
Super helpful, thank you! Bought my first ever affordable luxury watch over weekend (Oris) and watched this in retrospect. For newbie like me, really helpful.
Excellent video as always. The 65 diver is a straight homage to its 60s predecessor. Absolutely no need to overengineer this piece; just like back in the 60’s, 100m water resistance is more than enough for a dive. Having said that, professional divers will likely grab a Seiko or trust a Doxa over this or most other lux pricey brands.
Just love your videos, so good. Have my first Swiss watch since a wile, a Oris aquis 43,5 black polished, just love it. Looking at tudor, omega, breitling, tissot and certina but the more i learned i knew that it is the best buy for the money. Keep on the good work, and congrats too you both 👍🏻
I hold a few watches all the way from Citizen Signatutre Grand Classic, Mido Ocean Star Tribute, Omega Seamaster to Rolex Submarine. I'm a watch enthusiast. I finally got Oris Aquis Blue Caliber 400, the design grew on me everyday and now rest of my watches are sitting on the side. I love Oris and put on my wristeveryday. It replaced my previous everyday favorite Seamaster. Time is very precise on in-house caliber. It catches a lot of eyes. Overall, I'm very impressed and I'd like to buy more if Oris would come with cream white dial with black/navy blue accent on 43.5 mm. Oris team thanks for such a mesmerizing time piece.
Love Oris. My fist big watch purchase was a Pro Diver Pointer Moon. Big, bold watch. My tastes have moved to smaller tool watches, but I still love that one. My go to beach vacation watch.
My first Swiss was and is the 80th anniversary BCPD in bronze. You can frequently see these on the secondary market for ~$1300 and the bronze and green really look amazing together!
Picked up a deal for Oris Aquis Day/Date. Kind of a less popular Aquis model, but wears beautifully despite its large 45.5mm diameter. It's a big watch that doesn't wear big which I found fascinating and demonstrates Oris' case making skills. Despite being a rather less known model of Aquis, it still keeps its value very well.
Love Oris! I love they are independent and each piece is different and set own standards as you well point it out. I own 3 Oris, TT3 chronograph, Oris Prodiver Chronograph and latest Aqispro caliber 400
What a great video Teddy - Very thorough and evenly balanced, like most of your posts. I love my Big Crown ProPilot for its simplicity and understated bold style. Oris does such a good job in demonstrating their company (independent) strengths and awareness of their marketplace.
Love my Oris Aquis “Source of Life” limited edition. I can recommend the Pro Pilot and Aquis if you’re looking for the modern look, big crown pointer date and diver 65 for people looking more classic looking watch.
Not a single word for the calibre 110 family. I own many Oris watches but my favorite has always been my calibre 111. Great movement, very accurate (+3 to +5 s/day), magnificente power reserve and such a nice feel when winding the thing. These watches deserve more attention than wath they actually get.
@WhatsApp ❶❸❶❷❽❼❾⓿❽⓿❸ Hi, I'm not sure how to respond or use this fonctionality. I'm pretty new at this and exclusively present on RUclips. I'm also from Quebec, Canada, and my first language is french (it must be obvious in the way I write in english). I really like your channel. It is great, objective, really well done and educational. You also cover a wide range of watches and brands. In that regard, I find it democratic and it helps getting out of this apparent snobery we sometimes feel with some ADs for exemple. We can see that you and your team put a lot of work in each video. Thanks for the good work.
Had an Aquis for a while, loved it , a fantastic watch, really comfortable. Sold it to finance my heritage sm300, which is better, but I do miss my Oris & shall get another one as really impressed with the quality and value. Propilot X is just stunning 😍 Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻
Absolutely one of my favorite watch brands! I've owned and adored my Oris TT Classic Date for years now. It also only has 50m water resistance but I don't need it to have more. I wear it to the office and other non active environments! Next up the Carl Brashear or the Okavango!
My personal experience with Oris customer service is excellent. They fixed my moon complication rectangular watch for free as there were so many things wrong with it. Was I surprised! Sure, it took them 8 months, but free of charge, I do not complain.
Oris 65 Carl brashear original owner.. that watch took me on a journey of straps and technical learning. Even managed to have a conversation with the CEO
I want to mention the Artix lineup including the GT chronographs. I own a Calobra limited edition and it is a super unique chronograph and a completely different take from the normal 7750 chronographs. I love it.
I have an Artelier Skeleton and it is unique in room of watches, but a little too formal if not wearing a suit. I also have a black on black Big Crown date. Also nice for a more casual dress. Both are nice to keep in the collection and wear on occaison.
I purchased the Aquis calibre 400 green dial, and get compliments on it everyday. I love everything about the watch, and wouldn’t change it even for a Hulk!
I own several Oris watches including several Williams Formula One Chronographs and Big Crown Pro Pilot Day/Dates and absolutely love them. The quality, performance and finish are fantastic at these price points. My oldest one is a 2004 Williams F1 Chrono COSC certified, in black PVD finish, carbon fiber dial and blue chrono subdials. Runs perfect, not a scratch anywhere. I am very sad about the demise of the Williams relation ship
I was looking at seeing maybe if I wanted a diver from my collection I'm not fond about having something that everybody else has. But the sub 200 C graph with the orange rubber strap got my eye😊
Thank you for the vido. Great contents.. My first mechanical watch is the Oris Aquis Titanium diver. Absolutely love the watch. Put it this way, I have sold a Tag Heuer and an Omega Sea Mastrer Chronos, but kept the Oris. It is currently being serviced and I can't wait to have it back.
Great video Teddy! Oris and Hamilton seem similar for the consumer with ENDLESS options. Someone taking the time to break it down has at least given me some direction lol.
I own a Big Crown Pro Pilot and can confirm Oris quality is hands down phenomenal - this brand is a heavy hitter punching way above their weight - luxury watches costing twice as much often struggle to match Oris on build quality - plus the brand has history yet stands out as something different
My first nice watch that I could afford was an Oris retangle back in the 90s with ostrich strap when I was a kid. My last watch was the Aquis call 400 great timepeice that ticks every box. I think Oris watches are great. Aquis is a Tudor killer IMO.
Great video Teddy and it goes without saying I love Oris. But what I wanted to point out is, this video could easily have been a thinly disguised advertisement for the website and/or Oris itself. Instead (apart from the 30 seconds in the intro and outro, which is totally fine) we get a very informative video made by someone who obviously cares about the brand and the hobby in general. Most youtubers deviate from their path markedly after they go to the "Dark Side" (making Quan). Not my man Teddy. Well done good Sir, a tip of the proverbial hat to you. Keep up the great work.
Will never buy an Oris again. Purchased the Aquis Calibre 400 recently. Wore it for 2 weeks before the watch completly stopped winding (working). I have 6 automatic watchs and have never had this happen... except to an Explorer II when it needed a new spring after 10 years of use. Dealer sent the watch back to Oris and waiting to hear what they say. The finish and look are amazing though. Should have spent more on a Seamaster... hope I can get my money back.
Once again, a great review, thanks Teddy, I really love Oris, I think their watches are really cool, as you say, they are unique and to quote you again, that is really refreshing..... I will definitely be buying an Oris watch in the future......
Absolutely love Oris as a brand. From a design standpoint, their watches nail it in so many different ways, and their emphasis on LEs spotlighting global NGOs makes the brand even more likeable.

Who else is watching after buying an Oris
Love Oris! I love they are independent and each piece is different and set own standards as you well point it out. I own 3 Oris, TT3 chronograph, Oris Prodiver Chronograph and latest Aqispro caliber 400
Jesi zadovoljan?
Just bought their 36mm bronze big crown pointer and love it. Enjoyed learning more about their brand here.
The Big Crown is one of my absolute favourites. I keep looking.
I have never been disappointed since I became a customer of NKUWAN . Their timepieces are of exceptional quality.
What a great video Teddy - Very thorough and evenly balanced, like most of your posts.
I love my Big Crown ProPilot for its simplicity and understated bold style. Oris does such a good job in demonstrating their company (independent) strengths and awareness of their marketplace.
I own an oris aquis and I want a couple of another oris models more. Its watches are great.
My daily watch was an Oris Aquis what a great watch. I think Oris is under estimated by many.

Propilot X is just stunning 😍
Cheers mate 👍🏻👍🏻

Don’t own an Oris but I’ve wanted one for several years now!!

Own a 2002 TT1 Divers and a 2015 Big Crown Pro Pilot. I love both of them and they definitely look and feel more expensive than they are.
Currently saving for my first luxury watch, a pointer date. Can't wait!
Big Crown Date Pointer in stainless with a bracelet is a great all rounder.
I purchased the Aquis calibre 400 green dial, and get compliments on it everyday.
I love everything about the watch, and wouldn’t change it even for a Hulk!

The Diver 65 sunset on bracelet is my favorite.
I have the Titanium Aquis on rubber. I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. Might be the perfect everyday watch.

Nice video on Oris collection. You also talked about lack of Chronograph options, I think you may have missed the Aquis Chronograph.
I'm struggling between the Aquis 400 and the Tudor Black Bay 58. But Oris is one of my favorite brands without a doubt.
Refreshingly clear, interesting and thorough. Thank you for a beautiful presentation

Oris titanium Chrongraph 47 mm.
Oris titanium lefty Cronograph Carlos Coste .Love this 2 models 2008
Oris pro divers chronograph is one of the best technological watch you forgot to mention.
I was looking at seeing maybe if I wanted a diver from my collection I'm not fond about having something that everybody else has. But the sub 200 C graph with the orange rubber strap got my eye😊
I own a Big Crown Pointer Date. While the lume is not good at all, I do love the look of the watch.
My first diving watch was an ORIS. And i loved it.❤️
Love Oris, I have a Chronoris Movember and it’s on my top 3 of my collection!
Good overview. They are like the Mazda of watches. Independent, smaller, creative, well made, great value. I just got an Aquis 41 caliber 400
I absolutely love Oris. Great watches and great company! Oh and amazing product catalog!
I bought the Green Aquis strictly because of the looks..but it’s a fabulous Swiss watch.
I am planning to buy an Oris divers, this video helped me made up my mind 🙏👍🏻
Great video Teddy! Oris and Hamilton seem similar for the consumer with ENDLESS options. Someone taking the time to break it down has at least given me some direction lol.
contents maketh the man.. thank you teddy for this awesome piece.
I own a Big Crown Pro Pilot and can confirm Oris quality is hands down phenomenal - this brand is a heavy hitter punching way above their weight - luxury watches costing twice as much often struggle to match Oris on build quality - plus the brand has history yet stands out as something different

Love your channel. Would love to see a video on handmade watches verses mass production made.
My first nice watch that I could afford was an Oris retangle back in the 90s with ostrich strap when I was a kid. My last watch was the Aquis call 400 great timepeice that ticks every box. I think Oris watches are great. Aquis is a Tudor killer IMO.
I like the modern and clean look of Oris dive watches.
Can we have a char about Hanhart, would love to hear your point of view just like you did with Oris.
love my Oris, have it since 2006
Headed to the watchbox to give my Oris wrist time. thanks Teddy!
Oris is one of my favorite watch brand,I have my eye 👁 on the Aquis Date Red Cherry, gonna pull the trigger soon
